    [Expletive deleted].

On the one hand, this shouldn't be a huge loss. But, for me, I think it is unfortunate because I think he was really beginning to find his legs in this league and I was expecting good things on a more regular basis from him next year.

I never bought into the whole "not 90 minutes player" thing, and I think his 83rd minute goal sure showed that.... While I've no real substantive evidence, I think he had a strong positive impact on the guys around him. I think we've determined what our #1 replacement priority has become.

Thank you Branko! I wish you could have stuck around until the end of the 2013 season. I hope you tear it up with your next team, in Europe!

I will repeat what a long-time local area college coach who knows United and its players personally and well told me: Boscovic is the best player on the team and DeRosario the most successful.

Very sad to hear the news. I hope whatever situation he is returning home to deal with is not too serious.

Thanks for everything Branko, and best wishes in the future.

If it is for family reasons as linked I hope Boskovic resolves what ever that is and wish him all the best. I was frustrated at first with his injuries and all, but this past season he showed what he could bring and always came across as humble and decent person.

    Hvala Branko.

Obviously we have to accept that it was family issues, but I am sure most of us at least suspect he was just unhappy being a bench rider and missing play for others of less talent.

Wow. I was still basking in the wonder that was the 3rd best record in league play this year plus a good run in the playoffs and 3 days later it all starts tumbling down.

Thank you Branko for all you provided to DCU and it's fans. It was a great year. Best wishes to you and your family!

Thank you Branko for helping lead the team back to the playoffs. It may have taken quite a while, but you came through in the end.

2 goals and seven assists for his career with United, all compiled in the last 3 months of the season

At the end of the day, Olsen really struggled to find a place for Branko in his ultimate team. Branko had to play these past few games because he was forced to by the injuries to DeRo and Pontius.

If Salihi somehow manages to get transferred over the winter (and I hope he stays and Ben finds a way to integrate him and have a bit more patience with him in the lineup - Salihi got a very quick hook as a starter (mind you, he didn't exactly light up the scoreboard, scoring only once as a starter), then it will be pretty obvious about what Ben felt about Hamdi (and Branko to a lesser degree). Others, like Santos and Pajoy, got extended looks going games without even shooting on goal.

I would like to see Hamdi get a fair look, but if United has another option lined up, then so be it..

Ugh, not happy about this move. I know Branko wanted to get out of here, but I bet that means Salihi will go too. Hopefully these dudes don't end up at RBNY or something because I think they are the two most talented guys on the team.

If they show up at RBNY, there will be fires.

Someone posted a very disturbing possibility in this thread but being a responsible poster I don't want bring attention to it and spread to other poster the pain that was inflicted on me. How can we discourage such reckless posting without drawing attention to it?

Sorry to see Branko go. I do believe it was family issues - he wouldn't have re-signed in July if he really wanted out because he could have gone then on a free. Family comes first and I can't see how he could manage something in Montenegro from here. I'll always wonder what could have been if he hadn't lost the 2011 season to injury.

    Damn.

Family first. I hope everything will be ok for him when he gets back to Montenegro.

That would be a well-executed conspiracy of a bunch of different people putting out the same story, then.

I prefer to assume that people aren't liars unless they give me some reason to think they are.

I took quite a while to come around to him, but he really won me over this season. I am very sorry to see him go.

Wow, for a team that placed #3 in the league-wide table, we sure do have a lot of stuff to fix this offseason.

I put him on the ignore list, both for his post in this thread and his post in the "nothing but pride" thread he started. He was borderline anyway, but those last two posts pushed him over the edge.

    Honestly, I doubt he's even a DCU fan. I think he's a troll.

As much as I supported Branko, I'm relieved that he's moved on. I realize that his relationship with Ben was poisoned as early as the start of 2011. Whatever the public reason for his departure is, I'm sure that part of it was a fundamental falling out between Branko and Ben's expectations.

This whole Boskovic/Salihi dilemma is a distraction to the general team cohesion. I'm tired of seeing expensive players sit on the bench in favor of guys like Tan, Pajoy and King ...

Ben Olsen, if you're so brilliant that these players are beneath you ... then show us who you will sign. Show us the player that you will bring in that will be an undeniable starter. Forgive me for being frustrated, but Salihi was signed under your watch and Boskovic also re signed under your watch. You don't get unlimited shots at getting it right. In our salary cap league you only get about 7 - 8 players making over $200,000. It doesn't make sense when 3 of them can barely get off the bench.

EDIT : I'd just like to add that while I'm generally frustrated with this, I actually do think this is for the best going forward. My frustration is more directed at decisions made last year and the year before. But really if De Ro comes back healthy in 2013, Branko would have been redundant and he would of been back on the bench. Clearly De Ro fits into Branko's role if we stick to the 4-5-1. Our alternate 4-4-2 formation can't support Branko in a 2 man midfield. A simple case of Branko being the odd man out.

Boskovic was no longer a DP when he resigned.

He moved on for reasons stated in the press release, that he wanted to get back home to Montenegro due to familial reasons.

Please stop making assertions that are based on nothing but fantasy. Not everything is a conspiracy

Personally, I wish Branko and his family nothing but good will and good luck. I hope everthing works out for him and his family

I liked the dude and will miss him. Hope all is OK.

Obvious question is how to replace him. Do you play DeRo at a-mid or withdrawn (and scout whichever he doesn't occupy)?

I'm disappointed at Boskovic's (I wish I could figure out how to put the proper accent marks on his name) departure but you are overstating this distraction if there is any. I mean the team was so disunited over this that they had their best record since at least 2007.
