oh you guys have to see that second Shakhtar goal.......thats gonna be on highlights for ages for the wrong reasons. very controversial, very cheap

Shakhtar player was down for injury, then for fair play, as youd expect Ukranian side to kick it back once the referee drops it. However Shakhtar sent it through to Willian and caught the entire defense napping and he walked it in. Nordsjaelland were furious, needless to say

I don't think thats on anyone other than Willian for being a POS. I think the defender was playing it to the goalie as you'd expect. Perhaps I'm stating the obvious but the way your post was worded made it seem like the entirety of Shaktar was in on it.

was that parkhurst that was up in his face? Good for him. He reacted better than i would I have. I would have been sent off for what I would have done. No excuse for that. None. His teammates really didn't congratulate him. If I were the manager I would have subbed him out immediately for two reasons: the disrespect and then for his own protection. I know sometimes when a guy milks an injury you want to do what Willian did but this was a legit injury. Shameful.

Imagine had this been reverse and a Nordsjaelland player scored in Ukraine. All Hell would have broken loose with those rabid fans.

Wow, disgraceful. Even worse than this one by Arsenal several years ago, since Kanu and Overmars could at least claim that they weren't aware of the injured player being down (at the opposite end of the field):

and yes, that was Parkhurst in Willians face, he was giving him the hairdryer and rightfully so

it really killed Nordsjaelland's momentum, wasnt a match after that.

Right after the incident and argument on the pitch, the FCN captain made a clear-cut deal with Shakhtar captain Srna, that they were suppose to let FCN score a goal straight away, to makes things right, but some of the Shakhtar players and head coach Lucescu did not honor the deal... in fact, according to the FCN head coach, the assistant Shakhtar coach quite clearly showed a thumbs-up gesture to Adriano for his despicable goal... and after the match Lucescu tried to explain it all way, by saying that he was sorry, but they had agreed to give a goal to FCN, but Stepanenko unfortunately misunderstood and stopped the FCN player from scoring... so instead of giving FCN a goal, the coach said that he urged his players in the half-time break, to show that they are the better team by scoring more goals in the second half, so that there would be no question about the final result of the game...

or in other words .... we are a better team, so cheating while we are a goal behind, really makes no difference, because we would have won anyway"

How ridiculous an excuse is this.... they cheat an FCN team, that could have been 2-0 or at least 2-1 up at half-time if not for this scandal, which of course then forced FCN to focus more on attacking in the second half which again left more space in defense for Shakhtar to score more goals... In any case, the FCN coach said :

    - "I have seen many things, but this is a scandal. It is one thing what a player chose to do, but it was followed up by other actions that were scandalous. We are always told, that we need to show respect, respect for the rules, respect for the opponents. It is unsportsmanlike conduct.... It is a disgraceful behavior"

He also explained that he by other disgraceful actions, meant that it was not only some players but also the Shakhtar coaching team who were to blame for this disgrace, mentioning the thumbs-up gesture to Adriano by the assistant Shakhtar coach, after his despicable goal... and that the incident ruined their game plan, because some of his players had trouble keeping focus in the second half, because they simply were too enraged about what had happened.

... besides the scandalous goal Adriano was acting like an idiot, provoking the fans in the stands, even doing an "honorary round" when he was subbed out in the 82nd minute.

What a disgrace. FIFA should fine the sh*t out of Shaktar and their coach. Thats just plain embarrassing. Can you imagine if this happened to a team with psychotic supporters? Would of been a riot taking place on the field. I don't know if FIFa can do anything there, but they really should.

    Why so fuss about it?
Barca did the same to us in 2008 in the stoppage time while we winning 1-0 and they turn it to 2-1 in 2 minutes. Nobody actually apologized afterwards like we did and they never gave us a chance to score back like we did yesterday and, unlike our game, that really changed the result of the game.
Nobody at UEFA gave a slightest care, despite Lucescu told that they should at press-conference.

First off, the apology was bunk. Secondly, Shakhtar did not give FCN a chance to score back. As for changing the game's result, there's no telling if it did or not.

And on top of all that, the game you refer to did not have a similar equalizer in stoppage time. Messi scored that in the 86th when your keeper spilled a cross. So I'm not even sure what you are talking about.

Actually I think they can... at least regarding Adrianos despicable behaviour.... it is one thing, if he had said that his goal was a mistake, but right after the incident and argument on the pitch, the FCN captain made a deal with Shakhtar captain Srna, that they were suppose to let FCN score a goal straight away, to makes things right, but on Danish TV they were showing footage of Adriano running and waving his hands, clearly trying to encourage his team-mates not honor the deal, but to stop FCN from scoring the goal, which is also what happened ... right after the match he also told the Danish media, that quote :

    - "I'm very happy. We won, and I'm happy about all my goals, also the first one"

I cant really see how UEFA is going to be able look the other way if they are serious about their own 'Respect Fair Play' competition ...

Well, at least Shakhtar top scorer Henrikh Mkhitaryan was being honest after the match... here is what he said, when he was asked :

HM - "I will rather not talk about the goal. The most important thing for us was to win and progress"..
Q - "but there was a deal about letting FCN score?"
HM - "Yes. I suppose there was. But it was not up to me"
Q - " So you would have let him [Lorentzen] score?"
HM - "Yes, that I would have done..."
HM - "It may well be that it seemed easy. But it really was not. We were lucky to get the 2-2 goal before the break.... Subsequently, we managed to get the upper hand because FC Nordsjælland were playing offensively, which gave us bigger space for our transitions"

sad day for fair play. pretty disappointing behavior. but there are always those who are willing to take advantage of such things. its sort of like the tragedy of the commons, but this time its the tragedy of fair play.

If Uefa 0r Fifa had any respect for the game, they would punish Shaktar heavily and maybe cause Shaktar to forfeit this match. This is getting ridiculous. You cannot preach about stopping raciscm or fair play and just allow it to happen with a slap on the wrist.

    It starts at the top.

The player and team are just practicing what FIFA has preached.

The play, the excuses and response embody what FIFA is quite frankly.

Why would anyone look to FIFA to do something about this when this is what FIFA is.
