11/29 6:30pm update: Supporter Group leaders had a conference call with the League and HDC/LAG management. A couple details still need to be figured out over the next few hours but here's what we know: Time Lots open at 9AM (they reneged on 7AM) Parking $20 for cars, $40 for large vans, $60 for buses Fans with cars will also need to print a separate pass to enter the Dynamo lot. DOWNLOAD: http://www.houstondynamo.com/MLSCupParkingPass Location Lot 16 (we were in 18 last year) Alcoholic Beverages Officially drinking/tailgating isn't allowed on campus. Unofficially, police look the other way to it for soccer games. Pour all alcoholic drinks into plastic cups. Do not leave bottles and cans in plain site. March Security plan calls for Dynamo supporters to march in at 1pm (30 minutes prior to official game time). (full-size: http://i.imgur.com/VgQyQ.png)
Someone bring the karbach,no label, st Arnold's, and shiner's and all Texas microbrew only. Won't be mad if all we have us 90 minutes though.
So, you can actually take beer on your checked luggage. Just go to the airline and look up the policy!
you know that in the industry, people who handle luggage and load it on and off of the plane are called "throwers" right?
Do not listen to cougarclaws, I have checked hundreds (yes hundreds) of bottles of beer over the years and the only time I had one leak was a home brew that I accidentally bottled in a twist. My record for most beer successfully checked is 40 beers (in 2 suitcases). I tried to up it to 48 later and got caught (all beer taken out, but held and they gave it back to me when I returned). Long story short, getting a six pack checked is super easy. If they are boxed that works, if they are crated then take them out and wrap them in your clothes.
Do not listen to Art Vandaley, he derives pleasure from seeing people's beer explode. OK I have no idea what I'm talking about. I just have trouble believing your shit doesn't get shook up.
Well, do not check Shiner or Lonestar or something that is a twist. Those might pop, (but probably not). St Arnold's or Real Ale will make it no problem.
Was just wondering that. I get 2 free checked bags on United......maybe I'll grab a big pelican case from work and fill it with beer. Shiner is national distribution now right? I keep seeing it in movies now.
Yes . . . but I do it twice a year (for ten years) when I head to Cleveland (Great Lakes brewery) . . never a broken bottle thanks to a lot of bubble wrap.
I actually have done 52 bottles (had to take my clothing out and stuff it into my travel golf bag.) Not sure why the took it from you . . . most of the airlines have stated policy allowing it provided they are individually wrapped AND the entire contents are in a leak proof (trash bag) container.
in other news: 18 hours after landing I've finally gotten a call: my luggage has made it to Houston and will be delivered within 4 hours. Glad I won't have to wear gym clothes until payday.
About the only area you can't find Shiner is New England. If you search hard enough, you can still get your hands on some; it's available in the Mid-Atlantic, so it trickles up on occasion.
^ drank some in DC at the Hill Country Barbecue where DonJuego made us reservations - which was fantastic btw. You can also get it in Maryland
Take it from a New Englander, you can't get it. Closest I know of is Jersey. You 100% can get it in California. When I lived there 2 years ago, it was available.
Yea, that's what I was talking about. That was a great time! View attachment 9559 Well never mind, there is supposed to be a picture of the rainy parking lot, but it's not working right. Just pretend...
