I saw Xmas take the first shot in the war this year - saw some Xmas Santa hats hanging in the same aisle as the pumpkin and stuff for pies and other Thanksgiving deserts.
Of all the ridiculous crap Fox sells, this war has to be the kookiest :)

I think this will be the year that we finally win this war. Christmas is going down!

We have the Mayans on our side. If they keep their word, the war is ours!

From the first combat dispatch from the Foxhole...

"In a letter to residents and businesses, (Alspi, Il mayor)Kitching wrote: “I am very saddened by this and had hoped we would not have to change tradition. However, in these economic times, the village cannot afford to waste any tax dollars on a lawsuit that simply cannot be won.
“Other municipalities have been brought to suit regarding the very same issue and have lost. We have chosen not to waste taxpayer dollars to fight a losing battle in court.”

So, it looks like this battle is decided. It remains that the losers refuse to understand that they were in the wrong of it.

I know the Catholic Church is unpopular in these parts, and definitely is considered an instrument of the devil by evangelicals, but it does teach that you aren't supposed to sing Christmas carols until December 25 - and that Christmas lasts until Epiphany.

No. He'd unilaterally bomb the shit out of it without Congressional approval.

    Hail Grimes!

He would justly rule that only children under 16 should get any presents.I mean, grow up already people!

Oh and "Merry Christmas" will be replaced by "Hail Grimesday"!

    Hail Grimes!

Another lost tradition. We went around the neighborhood singing Christmas carols (humming really, the girls sang) and getting some coin for Christmas presents.

My wife said she heard on the radio that 45% of Americans would rather just skip Christmas. Personally I wouldn't really mind the holiday if they would just quit playing those same idiotic songs over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
But to bring the war on christmas to a rapid conclusion, I suggest - predator drones!

I used to find Christmas creeping earlier into the fall merely annoying. But now that I have kids, good lord. Because the under-10 crowd can only take so much anticipation before they go nuts. This year, I'm trying to push the Christmas talk as late as possible.
