Jozy to stay ahead? sunday 11/25 AZ vs Feyenoord 14:30 CET (winter time!)

Discussion in 'Yanks Abroad Gameday' started by feyenoordsoccerfan, Nov 20, 2012.

  1. AZ won the last 4 confrontations against Feyenoord at home.
Is Jozy going to find a hole in the Orange defense? If he wants to stay ahead of the competition he has to. Former AZ striker Pellè and Lex Immers are hot on his heels with 8 goals. Pellè needed 9 matches to score those 8 ( For AZ he scored 14 times in 78 matches). Lex Immers is a different story, he has a turn over rate of chances into goals of 1 goal for every 5 chances. So the best way for the AZ defense is to give the ball to Lex:D. He most likely is going to miss.
I hope Koeman will put Bruno Martins Indi on Jozy and not Joris Matthijssen
because Joris is a little to slow to contain Jozy.

  4. He he he:D I will ask Koeman to sent our players on the pitch schminked like "Zwarte Piet" with "Roe" and "Zak". That for sure is going to make Jozy unsettled.:p And we will be throwing "Pepernoten" to his head.

It is unsettling for anyone who is not Dutch - and even some who are.

    Bees Knees repped this.
  7. It is a face to face confrontation of the main candidates for the Dutch top scorer title. Koeman wants the defense to keep a clean sheet again.
You might think what about Bony who is scoring with no effort at all? Well, he is most likely gone in the winter transfer period, so unless he scores 20 goals in the matches before the transfer it is most likely that Pellè, Immers (when he starts scoring the chances he gets because of his nose for a chance) Jozy or Finboggson of Heerenveen is the next top scorer of our league.

  8. AZ misses almost all their left footed players against Feyenoord. Gudmundsson, the repacement of Martens, suffered an injury that brused a bone in his foot.
Probably Verbeek has to play with Falkenburg as left winger.

    That's ok, it's only Feynie.

  10. Koeman tries to get Immers ready for the AZ match, who has a light injury. Despite his low conversion rate Lex Immers is a key player to connect with Pellè.
It is amazing how much a click with a club/team does for a player. Pellè was always highly regarded by van Gaal, Verbeek, Advokaat and Koeman, despite the fact that he didnot score much in his time with AZ. But with Feyenoord he is on fire.
It is like Jozy, who wandered through Europe to find at AZ the click he needed.

By the way, Vitesse Arnhem has appointed an American Marketing Manager.

Jozy puts one in the back of the net in the 3rd minute, but it's disallowed for an unclear reason. He muscled past the last defender to put in a strong goal. He had picked up an injury inside the first minute -- calf most likely.

Jozy disallowed goal for handball it seemed. Long ball played to him, great strength to hold off defender and bring it down, good finish, but the ball grazed his arm in the process of controlling it.

The wind is wrecking absolute havoc on this game. Expect something bizarre to happen.

It's still 0-0 in the 60'...I've never seen wind do such silly things to a match.

Jozy's done okay with the scant few chances he's had.

    1-0 Feyenoord from Wilhena.

Maher gave the ball away in the midfield, and Feyenoord calmly tore apart AZ's defense. 68'

Really frustrating game for Jozy. Windy, no service, and struggled to make anything happen when he did get the ball.
