Regardless of how the game turns out tonight at RFK, I wanted to congratulate you guys on a great year...things have really turned around under Coach Olsen. Even if you do crash out of the playoffs, you still had a really good regular season, and you got to the Conference Final...amazing accomplishments in themselves. Hats off, DC!

And it looks like the stadium thing is coming together, too!

I was merely trying to congratulate you on your excellent year...just because you are out of the playoffs doesn't mean your team didn't put in a wonderful effort.

    Is sportsmanship dead?

My feed is about ten minutes behind, so I'm not reading any of the other posts in this thread, in case they contain spoilers.

It's tied 1-1 right now with a little less then ten minutes left. I have a feeling that DC might just come from behind to grab this one at the death. It's been a hell of a year for you guys, and I just feel like maybe the wind is at your back right now.

Heading toward injury time now...looks to me like DC could still pull this one out. Pretty good chance, anyway!

Can't wait for the game to be over, so I can read some of the replies in this thread...you know, for all that we sometimes disagree over sporting matters, we can still come together over the things that really matter. You are all my friends, and my brothers.

Nobody gets mad if you kill a cow, but the first time you have sex with one it's "animal cruelty." Right, NBS?

I can hook you up, no prob.

First Cooper makes the penalty, but Metro has three players in the box. He misses the re-take. Marquez gets sent off. Deleon scores in the 87th minute. Cooper cries. Red Bull begins their 18th rebuilding process. Your mom kicks you out of the basement after she catches you forcing yourself on the family parakeet. You die of hypothermia, cold and alone in a Newark gutter.

No, that's the wrong game. I'm talking about the DC-Houston game...my feed is dead and MLSsoccer.com is down. Can anyone tell me how it ends?

D.C United scored 3 goals in the last 4 minutes. Salihi with the bicycle kick and DeRo with a 40 yard screamer. Then somehow Hamid comes for the corner and scores with his head to win the tie.

Yeah I know, I couldn't believe it either...

Speaking of getting kicked out of the basement, I've been following the stadium threads here...I think that anyone who cares about the health of this league can feel good no matter how this game ends tonight, because United are finally on the path to a permanent, state-of-the-art home in the District. I might not root for your team, but I do root for our shared future, so that makes me proud as an MLS fan.

It's a shame you got knocked out in the last round, maybe you could of had a taste of the action. How's Marquez by the way?

Marquez might be headed back to Atlas. If we're lucky, we can use his DP slot next year to get a real DP, maybe someone off the Montenegro national team. I hear Blazo Igumanovic and Milos Krkotic are both available on a free next year, somehow...

    Edit: Also Miodrag Dzudovic, apparently!

Really? Sounds good. Be careful you don't get another hothead in. You don't want a sudden red card to ruin a play off run.

I'd tell you to go to the library and get a book on the most humiliating losses in RB history but if you could even manage to lift it, you'd probably lose it.

    Because you're a loser.

Is there really no one around who can close this thread for us? I ask that, and yet am actually rather glad there isn't because, hopefully, that means they are all in Lot 8 enjoying themselves.
