He is actually German. Who would have figured??? His dad is American. Dual citizen. Did you know so is Subotic?
Dempsey's ship has sailed unfortunately. That said, I personally have shifted gears on Walcott significantly and I suspect a lot of other fans have as well. The downside is, we are hamstrung yet again by Wenger's incompetence. The story is, and for the moment at least I believe it, that Walcott isn't holding out for money but insists on being played as a central striker. No manager could ever agree to that, at least as a final decision on the matter. The point being, that at this point Walcott doesn't trust Wenger to oversee his career. As painfully ironic as that is, it simply illustrates Wenger's declining reputation in the game, and I don't think he can get it back.
Jones is a big game player, as a die-hard USMNT fan, he's a hell of a holding mid, and given the right surroundings/formation, he can be lethal in the attack. He's also good for a yellow a game....
That being said, Arsenal should invest elsewhere, he'd be an average Prem holding midfielder, but he is definitely useful when holding a lead.
Not really interested in Jones. I think we have options as good as him on the bench already that aren't being used.
Alright? I don't see the logic behind that statement, I could also be pretty realistic in my player grading...Clarence Goodson is awful and Jozy Altidore is overrated in Holland...
So is the general consensus that Walcott is definitely gone in January? Contract talks stalled? It would seem his bargaining power has increased significantly this past month as he continues to put in solid performances.
On Theo's ESPN interview after the game, I got the impression he wanted to stay. It could be posturing but at least he wasn't negative.
Sometimes those little moments are pretty telling. In the interview after the last match of the season it was pretty telling clear wasn't a great chance Van Persie would stay.
http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896.../15/3529227/sagna-playing-at-arsenal-is-magic This should be encouraging, but it makes me think more so that he'll be gone. Can we just sign JFW to a 15 year contract right now?
Cabaye + Cavani = Top 3 Finish. Current squad = Europa League, barely. I know walcott and podolski want to play through the middle but I could care less. We need proven goalscorers, not experiments. 4-4-2 with Giroud and Cavani would decimate.
To me he has a 70% chance of going, he probably feels that he has been disrespected by Wenger and should be starting when he's clearly the best winger we have ATM. But whether or not he'll find a club that'll give him a better deal is debatable, if Adam Johnson couldn't make it at Citeh it's unlikely they will flock for Walcott.
Back to Jones - I'm also a huge US fan, and there is no way he should even come close to gracing the bench at Arsenal. Michael Bradley? All over that. Jermaine Jones? No ****ing way.
