    1-0 win would be enough for me. Hopefully we play the strongest possible XI.

    Thanks for starting, Azul.

    The hot rumor (not confirmed on the official site yet) is that after only SIX WEEKS our Captain Caveman might be in the squad!!

    If Puyol plays I'd put down a small wager that we pitch a shutout.

    Can one of the mods please sticky this thread and unsticky the Celtic match thread? Thanks.

    I'd go with the usual lineup with the guys in form starting. More of PMV with Alexis out, would like to play Bartra over Masche here, as well as Iniesta back in the lineup. Wouldn't go wrong with this;

    Valdes
    Montoya Bartra Pique Alba
    Xavi Song Iniesta
    Pedro Messi Villa
    Should be a routine win, but they are in pretty good form lately. Weren't too bad at the Bernabeu either, need to concentrate and get some goals. Got to keep our good run going with Levante away coming up after this.

    I'd be fine with 11-8 win as well.

    Great news for us to have him back, but definetly wouldn't start him in this game. Maybe give him 20-30 minutes to get some match fitness but no need to risk him from the start already since he's just returned. We really need to take care of him so we can keep him available as long as possible because our defense sorely misses his leadership at the back.

    But it's good to have him available again. Pique and Puyol both fit now. :)

    Sorry, this one is all about me. I moved 2 weeks ago and only just got internet working at the new 'mango homestead, so looking forward to watching a weekend match again (missed the last 2 though, of course, I got to watch Celtic-Barca from work), however, if it is not raining in SF I sort of promised my kids we could do a garage sale at the old locale tomorrow. Hopefully it rains!

    WHAT? Puyol is BACCCCK? Sweet. Pique and him are definitely opposites. Something tells me that Tello starts tomorrow and Pedro gets rested for our early midweek match in Russia.

    Haha....that's funny. Let this be a lesson, check the Barca schedule first, it would be helpful if the league would publish set match times a month or two in advance. Congrats on the new residence.

    Does fog count as a kind of incredibly slow rain?

    Lol… I 'schedule' my life around Barça. :) Today I have to go to Ottawa, but making sure to get there early to stream the match from 14:00-16:00. What can one do when so hopelessly in love with this team, eh? It was a hard blow not to be able to watch in on TV anymore, since Goltv lost the rights… now I scramble for decent streams online. I remember a few years ago when I was living in the woods, I could only follow them via Rac1 or Catalunya Radio. I couldn't stream because of dial-up connection. When satellite took on Goltv I thought I had gone to heaven. :)

    I feel for your kid, but I'll do a rain dance for you. :) Congrats on the new abode!

    Visca el Barça!

    Tis called a "zero".
    It is a number.
    wikipedia entry: zero

    Spanish = cero
    German = null
    Greek = μηδέν
    Russian = нуль
    Arabic = صفر
    Swahili = sifuri
    Esperanto = nulo
    Pig Latin = erozay

    It represents the intelligence quotient (IQ) of the average LPB supporter.

    Decent summary of absences, game analysis only OK. Yes, it is raining in SF!

    Pique and Puyol are both back in the squad though Puyol needs more match fitness to start a game. Barça will be missing Alexis, Adriano, plus the suspended Busquets meanwhile Muniesa and Cuenca are still recovering from their surgeries, and Thiago is yet to receive medical clearance (Edit - Abidal too).
    Predicted Starting XI: Valdés; Pique, Mascherano, Alves, Alba; Song, Xavi, Fàbregas; Pedro, Villa, Messi (Edit - sounds about right but could see Iniesta or Tello starting as well).
    Real Zaragoza
    Glenn Loovens suffered a knock to his knee in training and is set to miss this clash along with former Barca B left-back Abraham and right-back Cristian Sapanaru (both suspension). Sapanaru has been playing really well so his absence will be felt.
    Predicted Starting XI: Roberto; Zuculini, Paredes, Alvaro, Hector; Movilla, Romaric, Apono, Montanes, Rodriguez; Postiga

    Thanks Gil, that made me remember that Busquets is suspended. So if I recall, he was suspended for a direct red in the Champions League, then I guess he's out because of yellow card (5) accumulation in the league for his handball last weekend?

    Official Lineup:

    Valdes
    Montoya Pique Puyol Alba
    Xavi Song Iniesta
    Pedro Messi Villa
    Bench: Pinto, Alves, Bartra, Mascherano, Jonathan, Cesc, Tello
    Big risk to start Carles just a day after his return. This risk better not backfire again.

    Barcelona line-up (official): Valdes - Montoya Pique Puyol Alba - Xavi Song Iniesta - Pedro Messi Villa

    And the family is out running errands - oh happy day to have the computer working again at the new place, MVP starting up front, Xavi and Iniesta ready to help Song adapt at his more natural DM position. Cesc waiting in the wings if needed. Surprise starts for Montoya and Puyol. Welcome back el capitan! Congrats to VV on his new son Kai (think that's at least his 3rd). I see Azulgrana beat me to it, just really wanted to comment on the lineup more than double post it. Hopefully Masch for Puyol and Cesc for Xavi or Iniesta after 60 minutes, maybe Tello on for Villa as well late or JDS for Song.

    yes, although it was an arm injury so i'm guessing he's still been able to keep training while out. if it had been a leg injury i think his fitness would be more questionable.
