DC United gets great stadium news. http://www.csnwashington.com/soccer-washington-dc-united/dc-united-gets-great-stadium-news
Seeing Julie Donaldson is the only thing that can make a dent in my rage right now. That news is slightly encouraging, but I won't believe it until we've won our first match there. Also, I hope we load up on generators and snowblowers after the shower of shit we've endured over this past week.
Remember, remember The Playoffs are in November. Snowpowder, treason and rot. I see no reason why the snowpowder treason should ever be forgot.
Here is some interesting "Speculation" and "Unfounded Rumors" reading today. And I'm going to be like the local news paper and be lazy and not do more homework. But many of you seem rather knowledgeable. VA Beach has been courting the idea of an arena and getting an NBA team. Personally I don't believe Hampton Roads will ever get a Pro Sports Team, especially way out at the beach front as it's not centrally located in the area. Sacramento Kings has been mentioned, which I know Jason Levien has ties to in the past. Today's paper also had: http://hamptonroads.com/2012/11/new-study-impact-arena-va-beach-released Which peaked my interest considering Uniteds other ties to the 76ers. Conspiracy Theory of the Memphis Grizzlies coming to VA Beach founded? Doubt it but made me speculate for a minute. With all the loose connections with DC Uniteds owners. And it's a shame this thread went to the 2nd page with all this "Playoff" talk.
I know the Mayor talked to people yesterday, but didn't we already do this one a while back when this arena plan was first announced? I can't remember what's in this thread or maybe the Other Sports thread.
You can't remember? This thread is only twice as long as the Petraeus/Broadwell emails and you can't remember? Those two should have just flirted and convorted in this thread. It would have taken NSA supercomputers 32 years to find it all.
What the heck does that mean that Jack Evans says the "framework should be in place" by the end of the year? I realize they have to boil the facts down whence writing for the idiot box, but seriously what IS that? An agreement? An agreement to have an agreement?
"Framework" means they are stocking up on glue and toothpicks. At least then we can't complain about falling concrete.
It would be sweet if they had a deal and they announced it at halftime this weekend. One can only dream.
I haven't followed all of that. I think I recall hearing there were between 19,000 and 30,000 pages. Is it basically one e-mail to a page including headers, footers, signatures, and other random stuff. That's how the shortest of my work e-mails is. Did they simply treat e-mail like text messages or something?
No idea. But I'm inclined to agree with you, as you can always safely assume that someone in the media has sensationally exaggerated whatever the number of pages is.
Good luck doing that ... if it's anything like the past couple of games you'll still be waiting (hopping) in line 15 mins into the second half. Bloody closed bathrooms :-(
Seriously...Between that and the lot 8/I-395 madness/clusterf$ck, sellout games are rough on the bladder.

This is really an amazing feat by the stadium authority. They manage, with 20k people in a venue designed for 50k+, to still create a bathroom cluster********.
I have said this before, but my 3-year-old son GAVE UP to pee in the halftime against the Bulls. I have never seen that before. It is a fantastic experience for potty training!
Saw some really quality crowd surfing in the bathroom last match. When the bathrooms look like the subway scene at the end of Crocodile Dundee.. you may have a problem (or opportunity?)
Some dude pissed in the sink because he asked why no one was, then was encouraged to take his own advice.
