Congrat Uzbekistan. Now the best Iran can get is third place. Korea and Uzbek will probably qualify as top 2.

The referee killed Iran chance for this WC. ********ing Arab referee. Anti football and psychological war by Uzbekistan players many time.

Very laughable substitution. Pejman nouri for M. Nouri to have three defensive midfielders?????? Abbasfar????? Anyway everything turned against Iran in this game unfortunately.

I knew bad things would happen when I saw the nationality of the refs. Ya. :-( I guess that's one way of looking at it. The same thing happened with England. England was denied a goal in the 2010 WC and then were awarded one in the Euros this past summer.

Regardless, horrible football. I am very very pissed. And to blame this loss on the refs is not looking at the big picture. This team just sucks. That simple. You can always get lucky every now and then. We got lucky against Uzbekistan and Korea and now Uzbekistan got lucky against us. Good teams rely on skill and not on luck. [/quote]

    Iran 0-1 Uzbekistan FT.

Seems like its business as usual. Iran chokes whenever it matters the most. Loosing at home to a depleted Uzbek line-up. They had such a huge opportunity to take a favorable lead in the table and be well on their way to qualify for Brazil. But off course, it wasnt to be.
    Cant blame anybody but ourselves.
And we also owed a bit of karmic debt to Uzbekistan, the way they lost their game at home to us.

Anyway, I seem to remember having a bet with Dohaha. If Iran lost I was not to post in this thread. So gotta be a good sport and honour the bet. hehe
So this will be my last post in this thread.

Also, huge props to Uzbekistan. They started very shaky and looked to be on their way out already so early in the campaign. But they really turned it around, and got full 6 points in two away matches against Qatar and Iran. Gotta give a lot of credit for that. Congratulations Uzbeks

The bet was for the first match in Uzbekistan. Dohaha lost the bet, but did not honor his word.

This game was a must-win for Iran, after the defeat at Lebanon. I really wanted to see Team Melli in Brazil, but after today that has got a lot harder. IMO, Queiroz is an awful coach. No idea why you got him.

Uzbekistan has good schedule until the end, home matches vs Qatar and Lebanon. They need to win that and i am sure that it would be enough to qualify.

I still don't understand how such a legitimate goal could even be thought of as offside, let alone be called offside. ********ing khaleeji refs. They're multipling too. Every damn game. Japan/Korea/China etc... don't these guys have refs? fuk

It wasn't really a must win. It was more like a must-not-lose match. :D

Ironic that you should post this considering the referee favored the shit out of Lebanon. If it's a sh*tty referee, then it's a sh*tty, no matter the nationality. Although it probably isnt smart to organize matches with referees from a country which has political tension with that of one of the teams playing, such as what they did with the Uzb Iran match. But like I said before, that guy (Ali Al Badwawi) isn't really a top quality referee even by UAE standards.

Very easy to play the blame game after losing the game isn't it. Iran had such as great momentum going into this game by winning against us prior to this game. Now, Iran at least win two out of the next three games. Away game against Qatar, home game against Lebanon and finishing off the qualification against us, Iran is in heap of trouble because Qatar is not out of this, they believe they can qualify outright for a ticket and even at four points, Lebanon is not out it either.

Uzis deserved the win. thank u for showing that iran fluked a win against korea. Iran does not deserve to go through. I loved it how iran salt arts bitching about grass rolling r u serious !!!!!! U better not complain about that!!! I would say iran got iraned haha. It a new term. Iran described this football Arab park the bus football but now they use it against stronger teams. Iam surprised iran did not use iran football against Uzi they thought they were better . Hahaha

You were outplayed today, and got away with a lucky result thanks to the pro-Qatari Arab referee. That doesn't make you the "stronger team", nor does missing a couple of players make this your "half second team". Consider this fluke win a gift from Qatar and their friends in AFC, and enjoy the moment while it lasts, because you'll be sacrificed next for the sake of Qatar. That's the grand plan.

Exactly. However, the luck in the first match was not by design if you know what I mean.

At the end, Qatar will be the main beneficiary of today's result.

Yes Iran played better. But the better team does not always win. But Uzi goal was not luck. Tr iran goal against kore was. That game the ball bounced perfectly to javad after a pinball effect.

In reality iran should have 4 points losing the first korea and Uzi game and winning today's game

a tie wouldve been more helpful for us than an o'zbek victory.

even when qatar has little chance for qualifying, iranians still use qatar in their conspiracies. this is how much they hate arabs. o'zbek deserved to win, congratulations o'zbek and insha'allah you enjoy brazil world cup. ignore conspiracists because they are sour about the loss.

enough about the korea v iran match it is inconsequential

however i dont think its fair to say the refs did it to help qatar. qatar is still in 4th place and have away games in uzbek and korea. they are essentially fcked.
