Club and country? Clint Dempsey should win.

If I could vote for the Honda award, my vote would go to Michael Bradley.

Cherundolo would be 3rd on both.

I was going to vote Freddy Adu but weirdly he wasn't there. The way that users on here speak of him makes it sound like he is easily our best player so where is he?

Dempseys second half has been so anonymous.
rumor is he is loaned out in winter.

    Says who?

Why say something like that without a link? You know we'll ask.

I cant link to the hotspur message board because it is a private board and you need to be a spurs fan.

Still some ITK people are saying AVB is tiring of dempsey being anonymous in the games but is frustrated because he has few options.

    1st half - Dempsey
    2nd half - Bradley

probably have to go with Dempsey though... 3rd leading scorer in England was it?

Looks like it but to be fair, Dempsey is not the only guy gone. Jol made a lot of good buys with only Rodellega looking like a bust.

But the spurs website I was reading seems to be more conceding that Dempsey just doesn't fit what they need right now. And stuff like that happens. I mean look at somebody like Stephen Pienaar. Not a bad player at all, but he was useless for Tottenham.

Speaking of Everton, I think that's a place Dempsey should try to go to if he gets loaned out. I think his style would mesh well with Pienaar, Jelevic, Miralles, and Dembele.

yes dempsey needs other players doing the work, other plays setting him up. i agree.

    Dembele is on Tottenham.

Everton is more in line with Dempsey but I dont think Moyes wants him.

Fulham right now is playing better without dempsey because berbatov is so freakin good. not to mention bryan ruiz and karagouinis have been brilliant.

Dempsey just isnt good enough of a player.

Our best USMNT players fit in at everton, fulham,, roma and AZ.

Not Ajax, Tottenham, Juventus, AC Milan or Bayern Munich.

meant Fellaini. Don't know why I put Dembele

Though as a Milan fan, I can honestly say some of those players could be used at Milan right now. Outside of SES, Montolivo, and (surprisingly) Kevin Constant ever position is up for grabs. Dempsey or Bradley would be welcomed at Milan (mainly because we don't have a poacher and Pazzini has been useless as a target man

it's an issue yes. Another issue is not taking bargains. Last year we had a deal in place with Standard Liege for Axel Witsel (something fairly cheap) but some refused saying he wasn't worth that money so he went to Benfica and then gets sold for 40 million. Similar issue happened with guys like Erik Lamela and Arturo Videl.

Yeah Milan has money issues, but they are so obsessed right now with hard wokers (which results in getting Taye Taiwo, Dejamel Mesbah, Sully Muntari, Bakary Traore) or loans with options to buy (Alberto Aquilani, Maxi Lopez, Christian Zapata). 2 bests buys might end up being SES (whose been amazing this year), and Francisco Acerbi (not really playing right now, but he's a long term buy and people love his potential)

As for Tottenham, most I see are hoping for a creative player in the midfield as they think that will make the forwards better. They all love Dembele, but he's not a creative player (and he's hurt). Not having a true replacement for Modric has hurt Spurs this year.

No crap we needed to replace modric.

And on dembele. HE IS AWESOME.

He terrorized man u in the 3-2 win. he is the biggest reason we did so well as well as bale. (not dempsey tapping in a ball a millimeter off the line.)

since he has been injured we have been dying.

I like that Dempsey has a slump and suddenly not good enough for Spurs. Did anyone on the spurs score more goals than Dempsey last year? Nope. Is Papiss Cisse suddenly not good enough for Newcastle because of his slump?

Slumps happen. Get over it. Dempsey will be ok.

It isnt about goals at all. He isnt present on the field. we accept that in the US because most of us dont know any better.

    it is unacceptable in Europe.

True, but back with my point about Cisse.

Cisse, from the games I've watched, has been either completely invisible or blown multiple chances depending on the game. I think the comparison is quite accurate right now. Hell, Cisse has even missed a pk this year like Dempsey.

Both players are in a slump. It's silly to think they've strung together some quality years and now all of a sudden "they aren't good enough" to play for their current club.

Dempsey has played ALL over the pitch so far. He hasn't found his niche with this club. It's taking longer than I would have liked but he really had no offseason with this club. It's not surprise that it's not so successful right now.

Hes on freaking Newcastle. I dont care if Cisse is struggling on Newcastle. Dempsey could be on Newcastle. wouldnt bother me a bit.

Tottenham is aiming for top four. huddlestone and he are not good enough. plain as that.

dembele certainly is. so is vertonghen. siggurdson is not.

we wasted 15 million on dempsey and siggurdson. should have bought one competent player instead of two incompetent ones who disappear all match and cannot assert themselves at all.

Alright, again, no one on Tottenham scored more goals than Dempsey last year. Dempsey did it with a weaker side. Perhaps, Dempsey doesn't fit in at Tottenham but he's certainly not "not good enough" for Tottenham.

No no he really isnt good enough.
Of course dempsey scored with a weaker side. he was the only player to play. right now without dempsey fulham is scoring far far more goals.
