Cooper clowning around to try to confuse the keeper, fool the three RBNY players whom jump to the area when he start with his ridiculous moves and stop for a second, living the players of balance and out of play, therefore the referee have to override the goal and start all over again, on the second try the keeper learn his lesson and he don compromise him self not after Cooper finished his clowning, hence, stopping his penalty that was poor executed the second time....
To be fair, it looked like about 3 players were well offside. Not taking the same donkey-like run-up and kicking the ball in the exact same spot on the re-take might've helped in hindsight.
Thanks for that link. Nice to see some post-match interviews. I agree w/ TH14 that this botched free kick was not very decisive in the big picture. But I disagree that he let Miller take it... mind-bogglingly poor probability of success that way. Kind of sums up how Henry seemed not as invested in the game as he could've been. But on a brighter note, here's some comments from a guy who would probably make a good captain or coach someday!
Scotty Pippen got angry and refused to play when Phil Jackson gave the game winning shot to Tony Kukoc. Derek Jeter has built his career on being the man in late game situations. Bad movie but great quote from The Replacements "I want the ball" "Winners always do" I've coached middle school players who wanted the last minute shot more then Henry did last night. Which is sad. I like Henry but I lost a lot of respect for him. Cahill earned a lot of respect from me for handling himself like he has and playing through this injury.
So let me get this straight just cuzz dax is a cdm he is immune to putting away easy goals? Ok first shot that hamid saved fair enough even though dax should have done better with that shot. Second attempt 3 feet from the goal there is No Way you shoot that high, and not ony did he do that but he shot it right at hamids chest. aWFUL. The set up by henry where he missed his third at close range was really bad as well. No excuses dax chokes when he has a chance to score just like he did at kc late in the game. Regarding henry, i too lost alot of respect for him and i was a huge henry fan. He did not show up at all. Ad as much as i hate rafa if you read the latest article by kristian dyer stating rafa blew up on backe when he heard roy miller was replacing him at half time of game one. Good job rafa and the firing of backe keeps looking better and better each minute. Regarding lindpere, listen i like his attitude. He had one really good season with us, hard working player but the guy is awful, has bricks for feet no touch on thr ball. I cant wait until we dont see him in a major role any more. Now if we can get rid of roy miller and tiaino i will be happy. A healthy sam lloyd and some more. Talented players with the ball st their feet in the midfield and a new coach and im aleady excited about next year.
Well, you only have to go to the numbers and take: 23 years old Mario Martinez for the Sounders to win the game 22 years old Nick De Leon for DCU to win the game Like I say before, this is a game for young people, the oldest only become crafty, cunning and lazy, they don't belong on this sport....
The Galaxy were pretty old last year... age does not matter too much as long as the players are good. However we do need some more athletic players on the team, no question about it
What are you talking about, the Galaxy first team in 2011 have only four players over 30s Beckham 36 Kean 31, Dunivant 30 and Saunders GK 30, after that they had like 10 players under 24 and a couple teenagers, is true they have Hedjuk and Kirovski over 33 but they were not starters and they were keep for experience and beside players like Hedjuk they never give up and play and play with out stop music, but LA beside Beckham and Keane are a young team.....With young starter players like Gonzales, Franklin, De La Garza, Meyer, Juniho and Mc Bean, that the older was 24 last year....
lineup Find a teenager in this lineup (still waiting). They had to have U24, because of how many high priced veterans they had. If it wasnt for injuries our 18 man matchday squad would have Meara, Dax, Barklage, Lade and maybe Ruthven. Then we have Palsson and Hertzog who might get a chance to play with the new coach. Our team was never that old, our coach just preferred playing old people. We do need to insert a bit of pace in our starting lineup but you are exaggerating this big time
none of them played or were even in the squad Metz. McBean played one game in 2011 and Villareal played NONE. Try again
Divine youth that go away, to no return.... You see Huston, they are going to the finals and depend who they play, they will be the Champions of 2012, why, because in they roster they have: 12 players 25 and under 12 players 29 and under and only one 30 Carr, one 31 Davis and 34 Ching....that is why they will be Champions, because they are young and that is the name of the game.....
HE SHOULDN'T EVEN BE THAT HIGH UP THE FIELD. We're paying him to stop goals. not score them. He could have gone across goal. Agreed. Regardless he forced a save and a corner. I'd like to see even Henry score that. Watch the replay. The level of difficulty to simply get the shot off was very high and Hamid made an EXCELLENT save. This was a bad shot. Agreed. Wrong. He had 2 good seasons for us. Opening season at Red Bull Arena and last year when he practically carried the team single handed through injuries and international call ups.
de Bontin has offered tickets to the Brazil/Colombia friendly this Wed. for anyone who attended Wed night as an apology/thank you. I'm assuming this is for season ticket holders only. I do appreciate the gesture, but honestly, would rather it be for a future event at Red Bull Arena. It's such a pain in the ass to travel to Met Life/Giants Stadium from the city, and to do it on a Wed evening makes it unlikely I will attend. Plus tix can only be picked up at Will Call. I'd have liked the option to sell online. Here's most of the email I received: First, we want to thank you for your generous and long-lasting support to our club. We are all deeply disappointed that we did not advance further in the MLS Cup Playoffs despite a valiant performance Thursday. I am sure you share this sentiment. We have extensively reviewed options to reward fans who traveled through difficult conditions to see our home playoff match on Wednesday that was eventually postponed. Though the decision to schedule and then move the match was Major League Soccer’s decision alone and Commissioner Garber has since apologized, you are our supporters. By that extension, we bear a responsibility to ensure that we address your legitimate concerns in a professional and complete manner. There were many factors in determining how we should recognize you. Mainly, given that our season has concluded, we wanted to address this issue as soon as possible and provide as much value in making up for a frankly bad sporting experience. After deep consideration, we have secured tickets for you to attend the Brazil-Colombia international friendly at MetLife Stadium on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 PM. The Brazil-Colombia friendly will be entertaining and fun for soccer lovers, featuring the likes of two top sides and several world-class players including Neymar, Falcao and Kaká.....
They should reward season ticket holders with an option to sit down with management and voice their concerns. Everything else is useless and/or insulting.
Management has to know their/our concerns by now They just don't give a shit. Why everyone perpetuates this ownership by buying season tix is beyond me.
There is absolutely zero real reason to buy seasons tickets. I did it to support the club. Last Wednesday nights screw-job was the nail in that coffin.
Also did it to support the club. But the club doesn't give a $hit about anything so why should I? The decision to give up my season tickets last year is looking better and better with every passing day...
