And "watch out" for what? It's not like Ronaldo is some 18 year-old starlet that Messi isn't aware of yet. He's at the age where its unlikely he'll improve from the players we've seen the past few years. Anyway, disappointing that Levante could not hold that 1-1 result with Madrid's top 3 goal scorers out injured.
Apparently John Terry's injury (which couldn't have happened to a better guy) isn't that serious. Hard to believe given the way he went down. BBC reports that he'll be out for weeks, not months.
AFC Wimbledon hosting York City in the FA Cup first-round today. If they win, they would probably play MK Dons in the next round. It would be the first time those 2 teams ever met. The beginning of what will probably be a pretty heated rivalry.
The Xolos of Tijuana finish the regular season with an away win in Guadalajara against Chivas. This puts them in 2nd behind Toluca. This week they will face Monterrey in the first round of the playoffs. But perhaps more interesting... they've qualified for Copa Libertadores!! I can't wait to see some South American teams play just across the border. Hope they get an awesome draw, maybe even see some Ronaldinho, Neymar, Riquelme(?) if I'm lucky*. * I'm just guessing here. If anyone can share any knowledge on who's qualified and who could get drawn in which groups, I'd appreciate it.
Ronaldinho's team already qualified by clinching a place in the top 4 of the Brazilian league. They are in good shape to finish in the top 3 which would mean straight to the group-stage of CL. Santos (Neymar) failed to qualify. Boca Juniors are in good position to qualify but Riquelme left the club after last year's Copa final.
Forgot about Riquelme leaving. Oh well, at least I got to see him play for Villarreal once upon a time. Checking out our Former Players Thread... Deco is still on Fluminense and it looks like they've qualified.
La Liga penalties awarded for and against, since Mourinho joined Madrid in 2010: Barcelona 17-11 (+6) Real Madrid 30-5 (+25) Scum and their referees.
It was a struggle but AFC Wimbledon beat York City 4-3 in extra-time. York City played 85 minutes with 10 men. Anyway, tomorrow MK Dons will need to beat Cambridge and that would set-up the Franchise v Club showdown!
Sid Lowe at it again on the Guardian, intrigue and mystery in the crazy LPB world: This might be somewhere else on the forum and if so, please delete: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/nov/12/cristiano-ronaldo-real-madrid-levante
Classy, Mou. That's really going to give the current canteranos a lot of confidence Yeah, remember when you wanted to be the big boss and got rid of Valdarno I love the heat Mourinho takes for this by the way
I don't see the problem. They "always defend" those values publicly. Now, "always practice"? That's a different matter altogether. So yeah, they carefully worded their statement correctly.
Please do not put Pepe up there with the likes of Gattuso, a player who won everything during his career. I miss that bugger! Hope that Sion qualify for Europe so I can see more of him next season.
Ibra scores 4 against England today! lol Well rested from his red-card & suspension I guess. Apparently the 4th goal was some sort of bicycle kick from 35 yards out! Didn't see it yet though.
Zlatan has just put in a virtuoso performance against England scoring 4 goals. I haven't see the first goal, but the next 3 were top class. The last one specifically is one of the greatest goals you will ever see. Reminds me of Rivaldo's performance against Valencia ... although this is just a friendly.
