The biggest ********* game in the history of mankind is about to take place in just under a month from now. It is possible that after this game the sport will no longer exist because it will no longer have any purposes. After this game, all bets are off. Holy ***** shit even these guys are unimportant compared to this
US-Russian record 2000: Russia 2-0 Moscow 1994: 1-1 Seattle 1993: 0-0 Palo Alto 1993: Russia 1-0 Orlando 1992: US 2-1 Detroit 1992: Russia 1-0 Miami USSR 1990: 0-0 Port of Spain 1990: USSR 3-1 Palo Alto 1979: USSR 4-1 San Francisco 1979: USSR 3-1 Seattle All time record Russia Wins 6 US wins 1 draws 3 All but two games played in US and only one in Russia.
This will be a good test for the US. Unfortunately, our defense has not been at it's best. I'm calling this one 3-1 Russia.
I'd say the defense has been doing better than the offense. In friendlies at least against superior opponents in 2012 Mexico 1-1 Costa Rica 0-1 belgium 0-1 Honduras 1-0 Ecuador 0-1 France 0-1 Slovenia 3-2 B level friendlies Venezuela 1-0 Panama 1-0 A level @Italy 1-0 Scotland 5-1 Brazil 1-4 Canada 0-0 Mexico 1-0 World Cup Qualifiers Antigua 3-1 @Guatemala 1-1 jamaica 1-2 Jamaica 1-0 @Antigua 2-1 Guatemala 3-1 SO in only two games so far in friendlies has the US given up more than one goal and in only one qualifier did they give up more than one goal. That's 3 of 20 games conceding a goal or less. In qualifiers the US gave up only 3 goals from the run of play, 2 against Antigua and one in the last match against Guatemala. The other three goals away were free kicks. Now I'd expect Russia to put up a stern fight but if the US has shown anything it's that in friendlies against superior opponents they will batten down the hatches fairly well and try to snag a goal. I'd venture the guess this one could finish 1-0 or 1-1

The Americans are bringing a very young and inexperienced attacking group, but mostly their core defensive group.
No. WOuld be more like our win in Italy. Huge deal, but besting Mexico was like going into every Mexican's mother's house and eating all of her special empanadas while they were at work.
That's about right. A win in Russia would be nice, but Mexico is our biggest rival and we had managed ONE DRAW in something like 30-40 matches.
As for the match itself, I think we'll see a 2-2 draw. Also, I'll speak for every American and say we'll trade Timmy Chandler for a lifetimes supply of beet soup and a few cases of Baltika 7
Crazy game. Basically the US gifted Russia a goal right at the beginning of the game. Weirdest thing I have ever seen where our midfield simply passed the ball to a Russian player on a free kick for a free run in on goal. Russia seemed content to just sit back and let the US move around with the ball, but whenever the US got close they would close in and take the ball from them. No real danger moments even if the US had the ball more for a good stretch, then Michael Bradley happened. A real golazo, which are kind of becoming a thing for him. A cross headed down to him for a rocket off the post and in from 25 yards or so. After that Russia started making a hundred substitutions and the game started to fall apart as a real contest. The US waited until late to make their subs but on a free kick the US defenders fell asleep to allow a Russian striker free on goal and despite his bad touch and the fact that the US keeper had the ball, the American central defender just ran over the Russian in the six yard box. Clear and stupid PK, which Russia easily converted. After that it was basically the US playing with one central defender, 3 strikers and all of their midfielders pressing for the goal. ON the final goal I think I saw four guys in the box. The ball was headed down from deep and Mix Diskerud who had only just come in took a shot that was probably going wide but hit a Russian defender and deflected over the keeper.
