Tor: Manuel Neuer (Bayern München), Rene Adler (Hamburger SV) Abwehr: Philipp Lahm (Bayern München), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Benedikt Höwedes (Schalke 04), Per Mertesacker (FC Arsenal), Heiko Westermann (Hamburger SV), Sebastian Jung (Eintracht Frankfurt) Mittelfeld: Lars Bender (Bayer Leverkusen), Sven Bender, Mario Götze, Ilkay Gündogan, Marco Reus (alle Borussia Dortmund), Julian Draxler, Roman Neustädter (beide Schalke 04), Thomas Müller (Bayern München), Lukas Podolski (FC Arsenal), Andre Schürrle (Bayer Leverkusen), Lewis Holtby (Schalke 04) Angriff: -
Apart from Westermann and Podolski, Loew has picked the right players.Neustaedter is very very good and deserved that call up.Draxler can't get in Schalke's starting eleven anymore because Affelay is a great player but still he is a very promising talent.
I didn't think they would take this seriously. I guess after the Argentina loss and the Sweden fiasco, maybe they have a point to prove?
I don't mind him getting called up, he has experience is a celebrated figure in germany. As long as he doesn't start. Reus, as usual - should start no matter what.
Neuer - Höwedes, Hummels, Mertesacker, Lahm - Bender, Gündogan - Müller, Özil, Reus - Klose Subs: Adler for Neuer Neustädter for Bender or Gündogan Schürrle/Götze/Draxler/Podolski for the front 4 Still a decent squad even without all those missing players, however, Jogi might want to call up another defender and maybe another DM.
Still a lot of talent. Big chance for Gundogan to stake his claim as our future Schweini replacement.
I'd like to see Löw step completely out of his comfort zone and try an all new XI. ------------------------Adler------------------- Jung---------Höwedes-------Hummels-----Lahm ----------------S. Bender------L. Bender------------- -------------------------Gündogan--------------------- -Götze/Müller-------Reus/Müller---------Schürrle---
Wish Sam wouldnt have opted for Nigeria, this would have been a great opportunity to try him and lock him for the future.
Van Persie is out for this game too. So it looks like we will be playing without our 4 best midfielders(Khedira,Schweini, Kroos and Oezil), our two best and only strikers(Klose and Gomez) and two of our top 5 defenders(Boateng and Badstuber). It would be great to see the twins playing together in central midfield. However, if Loew does not trust Jung which is normal, he should play Lars at right back. Neustaedter has been great and deserves to start over the injury ravaged Sven. My starting eleven would be : ---------------------Neuer--------------------- Lars------Mertesacker----Hummels---Lahm -----------Neustaedter---Guendogan-------- Mueller-------------Goetze----------Schuerrle (or Draxler) ---------------------Reus----------------------- But knowing Loew, he will play Podolski as the striker and he will be useless because his movement is...... well............non existent.
Prefer Mueller up top. Mueller can really score and his off-the-ball movement and positioning is simply amazing
Instead of just dismissing his statement, why not tell us your reasoning for thinking this experiment will work well. For the record Loew said that there will be no experimentation in this match.
I would like to see something like this: -----------------------------------Neuer---------------------------------- -----------------Howedes--------Hummels-----------Lahm------------ ---L. Bender--------Neustadter------S. Bender----------Draxler------- ----------------------Muller-------Gotze-----------Reus----------------
???? What about it couldn't work? It's not that radical considering the players we have at our disposal.
