Can we retroactively give Najar man of the match for that game?

    Well, that's a real bummer.

I'm presuming we won't be seeing Korb either; so Russell and Neal will have to play their best soccer of the year during these next two matches, or that'll be that. Will Bruin scores LOTS of his goals as a target forward for balls from the flanks.

How are we looking for a 5-3-2? :D

Just cannot understand a three game suspension for nothing even remotely violent or dangerous.

If true, I can't really complain. An incredibly stupid and immature act. However, I hope Burch gets 3 games for his "homophobic slur" caught on audio during last night's game at RSL. I also wouldn't be surprised if Hamid gets at least another game for his creative use of social media after his ejection. I love this team, but its youngest players have gone cement head at very critical times.

You can't physically assault the referee -- even if it's Marrufo. I was at the game, I saw the video, Andy threw the ball at Marrufo, no two ways around it. Andy turned a simple yellow card into a multi-game suspension that puts his teammates at a disadvantage.

Burch'll get two games, because he said it to a player rather than a ball kid, and it's three games for a ball kid.

One extra game is appropriate. The second one? Hmmm.

I agree, it's a bit harsh and I believe Andy when he says he turned around to throw the ball back (of course, I don't think he tried to stop when he realized what was going to happen), but you can't have players lashing out at the ref and that is sure as hell what it looked like. It sucks to lose him - I worry about Russell getting too many games in rapid succession considering his age and that he is coming back from injury. Fortunately, there is a full week between the Houston games.
I don't know if Hamid will get additional games or not for his tweets. Is there precedent? We're fortunate that Willis has stood tall as the "back up." I'd prefer a level-headed Hamid, but I'm not panicking with Willis minding the net.

Since his comments went out over the TV, I'm sure multiple ball kids heard it. How about we suspend that tool for the rest of his career. I don't know why I'm channeling all this hate over a marginal player, but I just don't like Marc Burch, never have.

Are you kidding? You do remember he's playing for Seattle. I want him to lead the team in minutes played.

A bit off-topic, but I am glad to follow a sport that frowns on, and even penalizes, excessive emotional outbursts. I see NFL players kick things over on the sideline and during the playoffs, I saw more than one baseball player trash the dugout. It's just not professional and to me speaks less of "passion to win" than of "spoiled petulance."
That said, the shouting and talking back the to ref gets out of hand too often and, in my opinion, ought to be penalized more.
    Mini-rant over.

I guess I missed it, but what did Hamid say that leads folks to believe he'd get another game suspension?

I keep seeing this everywhere, from the DC threads to the MLS threads from last night. I just don't understand the logic behind it though. Unless I missed some tweets by him (which is entirely possible), why would Hamid get an extra suspension based upon them? I suppose that it's possible he gets an extra game for not leaving the field in a timely fashion, but the tweets? He didn't call the referee a cheat. He didn't impugn his character. He called out the PLAYER who he thought had tried to, and in his opinion did, con the ref with a dive. Since when do players get suspended for calling each other cheats? Didn't Omar Gonzalez say just as much about Steven Lenhart to reporters just a couple of weeks ago? I don't remember him getting suspended or fined for it.

What is it so hard to understand, DC United threw a monkeywrench in MLS plans for a NY/LA final, so these are the consequences...

Calling out the player in a public forum was tasteless, but if this has been happening, I would hope MLS announces a policy before they start punishing people (Hamid). That said, I wouldn't argue with their right to prevent their employees from making public statements like that that could damage the brand (I don't mean legal right, I have no idea what laws say about limiting employees' expression in this instance).

That is absolute rubbish. It was a stupid move. Most yellow cards are. When it's a second yellow it warrants a suspension of a game. Suspension for 3 games? That's what happens when you trip someone from behind with intent to injury - unless you're Marquez.
