That's kinda like the Rockies announcing they're looking for an ace for the staff.

    Anyway, Yippee!

I'll believe this the second I see it.

Otherwise, I'm filing it under "Shirt Sponsorship Promises".

Optimistic me hopes they've got a line on a young DP from South America like Montero. Realistic me knows to file this along with jersey sponsors and wins by the Buffs.

Bravo/RFO are like that absentee dad who keeps promising that he'll show up for that game/play/birthday party, but something "keeps coming up" and he never makes it.

Ok, I will toss 2 names out there for this. No clue if we could get them for less then DP contracts. But any transfer fee would probably put them into those dollars.

Both set records for being youngest respecitvely to make their U18 and U23 National Team.

Gonzalo Bueno- Uruguay- 19: Striker/ Winger
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonzalo_Bueno Stats not updated to current year yet

Rodrigo Aguirre- Uruguay- 18: Center Foward/ Withdrawn Striker

Both currently play for Uruguay league clubs.

Looks like we are looking east, toward Europe? No clues regarding nationality of said player.

    BRAVO saith
wish we would look at Chile or Chilean nationals, exciting young talent there and not as overpriced as Brazil or Argentine.

Basically a rehash of what Bravo told Balboa.

Who knows what Bravo and Co. are looking at in a DP but I'll throw some names out there:

Gabriel Houche - Racing Club (Arg.) - 25 yrs. old - Has made a couple of apperances for Argentina in '09 - strong, good on the ball but more likely to play underneath the strikers as opposed to a target man

Juan Luis Anagono (Ecuadorian)- Argentino Jrs. - 23 yrs. old. - tall, fast, has a great shot, plays simple, had a failed move to Chievo Verona breakdown in Aug. and is on loan at Argentino Jrs. Reportedly Chievo will made another run at him. Streaky goal scorer but does other things well to compensate.

Duvan Zapata (Colombian) - 21 yrs. old - on loan to Estudiantes (Arg.) from American de Cali - very technically gifted at 6'2", a Colombian U-20 international and has played extremely well right off the bat for Estudiantes. Last I checked had 8 or 9 goals in 20 odd apperances for Estudiantes. Very bright future but probably European bound sooner than later

Fernando Uribe (Colombian) - Atletico Nacional (Col) - 24 yrs old - Had a cup of tea with Chievo Verona in Serie A last season scoring couple of goals. Made his name with Once Caldas pumping in nearly a gosal every other game. He's stocky, holds the ball well and is that gritty, down in the trenches player. Has appeared 3 or 4 times for Colombian National Team

Jamie Ayovi (Ecaudorian) - Al-Nasr (Saudi Arabia) - 24 yrs old - He's on loan in Saudi Arabia from Pachuca - Definitely not # 9, more of a winger or 2nd striker - Very, very fast and skilled on the ball, loves to attack from wide where he can cut inside plus good movement off the ball. regular Ecaudorian internional.

Armando Cooper - (Panamanian) - Godoy Cruz (Arg) - 24 yrs. old. - Not a striker but a #10. Every time I've seen him for Panama he's impressed the hell out of me. Tremendous vision, loves to play quick combos but can hit a wicked diagonal ball. He plays right and he play smart. Great attitude it seems, too. RBNY, Chicago, and FCD tried to secire his services before he headed to Argentina. Not doubt a great player who'd fit in well in MLS and Rapids.

We need a less talented version of Conor Casey? His touch is worse, his passing is worse, his shooting is worse... and these are supposed to be highlights of the guy, right?

he has a shit ton of assists in the k league which imo is better than the mls. he might not score many in that league but his there play maker big body bringing the ball down and heading the ball to players feet or providing crucial assists.

dudes a beast. that video is when he was like 20 21. the team he plays for dont play him. why not take a chance on him?

his the closet thing will ever get to finding a casey.

i've watched him his whole career. i see big things in him if the teams built right around him.

i say we get another player like omar so when omar is injuried were not huritng. we need another casey. aswell. when there hurt we need similar players or whats the point? didnt op say he wanted our whole team to be almost the same from the reserves to starting team so when we lost someone we had someone like them so we dont have to change the whole team.

sorry but i think casey is a terrible player always has always will be. he gets lucky more times then not. bogdan is already better than him.

We simply don't need this type of player if we really go to the much talked about but never seen Style preached when OP was hired. If Casey can be kept, fine, I think he can contribute.

But ideal guys you want for style are agile, fast with 1v1 skills that can interchange between midfield and forward to open a defense up. It's a defensive nightmare trying to mark up against guys who don't go or do what you expect them too.

Well, him not playing for his current team seems like one reason...

You claim to watch a hell of a lot of niche soccer, even for a BigSoccer poster. Do you do anything with your life than search the web for games in the Borneo 3rd division? Or is your "soccer watching" really pulling teams and players up in FIFA?

Yeah, the second highest scoring striker in MLS for over 3 years was just lucky, not good.

Give him more credit - he also has time to play soccer so well that he should be in the Rapids first XI, to practice neuroscience, and to take classes on lip reading.

Sad, I feel if we don't have these posts Bravo might see, then they would only look at name a 30yo, former name who is fading fast. Although those kind of moves got us a Cup so I guess I should cut them some slack.

I wonder if the Rapids offer (according only to a Honduran report) to Thomas's compatriot, "Pery" Martinez, factors into this. I would doubt it given the guy's age and Bravo's comments re: age, but it could be that price-tag thing again (cheaper than DP).
This. Seen a lot of suggestions for players in SA but sounds like they may be looking to Europe. I don't know how you classify the Thomas find. Honduran who was playing in EPL. Is that going east or going south? I don't see the Rapids paying more than $400k-$500k or so for a proven DP, unless they got some sort of odd go-ahead from KSE. In Europe, I'm thinking that limits choices. And then there's the tranfer fees that are likely for some one who is "in their prime" since it's less likely they would be out of contract. It all sounds less-than-likely.

matchofthedays.com forums post almost every leagues game by game. all i watch is football from all over the world. no regular tv no netflix no cable. just footy.

the reason his kleague team isn't playing him is unknown. but if you dont see a casey resemblence than i think your blind. guy could be the next casey if not better.

casey was out all year last year and majority of this year? hows he a top 5 goal scorer in the past 3 years again?
