    The bad translation:

As an antidote counterattack are thought to provide the especially the resurgent Timothy Chandler on the right wing. His impressive performance a week ago against Wolfsburg has earned him an invitation promptly by U.S. national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann for a friendly match against Russia. "I take this very much," said the 22-year-old who had recently canceled several times.

As a national team that is not overflowing with talent, we cannot shun TC, as badly as I would like to. He just seems to have too much of an upside to turn away.

I am a Cowboys fan, and as much as I HATED Primetime, I couldn't blame the Cowboys for bringing him in when they had the chance. I know TC is not where DS was at that point in terms of his talent arc, but he is pretty damn good at his age.

I think this is a good thing, assuming that the invitation was offered under the condition that he is committed to the team going forward, and will not turn down any future cap-tying invitations. He'll definitely make our team better/deeper, but it's not fair to the rest of the players if he isn't 100% committed to this cycle.

I kind of wonder how he might look at wide midfielder, but the U.S. seems fairly set at right midfield with Zusi, Johnson, and Donovan all seemingly capable of playing there. Plus he's probably going to end up being our back up as far as right back goes.

Still, he's naturally a wide midfielder, if I'm not mistaken. Playing him at his natural position might convince him to stick around a tad more, unless his club gets involved of course. He's got ridiculous pace and hits some good crosses.

I'm OK with this as long as he is willing to come play for us and get cap-tied. If he is just using the USMNT to get international experience and better position himself for a call-up with Germany, then I think it will hurt our team. I'm OK with him coming in against Russia... but he demn well better show up in the hex if called on.

If this is the case I doubt Germany would want a head case like Chandler on their team, hes not good enough for all the trouble it would case, only a few players can get away with being that crazy (Balotelli) and thats because of the enormous talent they have

That's great news, I hope he makes up his mind and shows up for the Honduras game. Eventually Cherundolo is gonna start showing his age, if he didn't in the last round he will against the quick and tricky player we'll be facing in the Hex.

Why waste a roster spot on this clown if it's not a cap tying match? So we bring him in for a friendly then he ditches us in Feb so he doesn't miss a pilates class with his club?

I will pay this kid zero respect until until he's cap tied to us. I'll let you all get excited about Timmy playing in a freakin friendly.

P.S. If he's scared of planes, he should probably jump on his bike in about 5 minutes and start pedaling like a mad man if he expects to get their on time.

What exactly has he done that's so crazy? Did he go running around naked in front of the Reichstag or something?

BTW, if JK is giving Chandler his third shot with us and wasting a roster spot in a non-cap tying game and doesn't call in Lichaj and at least give him his first shot with us, the German favoritism will clearly be shining through.

Chandler has been poor this year. Maybe Timmy is being called in to carry Parkhurst's bags around.

I don't like this logic at all.

I rather he get playing time in a match like this and ease back into things.

Not just throw him out there against Honduras and say good luck.

I wouldn't play him at Honduras. I'd call him in and make him sit and watch. Then, in the following round in March, if he proves he's still committed and shows up, then play him in round two of the Hex.

What exactly in Chandler's dealings with us makes you certain he would show in Feb? I don't like that logic at all. In fact, it's not logic, it's hope.

That's like going out with a girl twice, and both times she cancels on you. Then you're saying it's logical to assume she'd show up for the third date. No, you'd be hoping she shows up. Past history would show it's more likely than not she cancels, which would be a logical assumption.

But you don't factor into your analogy that we aren't Brad Pitt. We are Booger from Revenge of the Nerds (at times) and take what we can get.

Lichaj has been playing really bad this season, Chandler has been a consistent starter for his club since Feb 2011 and has regained his form in the last couple of games.

I'm not saying don't ever call him again. I'm saying don't waste a roster spot in a friendly on arguably the most flaky NTer in recent history. Make him prove it in a cap tying game.

It appears that Klinsmann has been in contact with him and has called him up (although it is still not officially official.)

It also appears he has accepted the invite. That gives him plenty of time to practice with the team and ease his way back into playing time. Whether it be as a sub or as a starter (less likely) he can get some experience again with the team after a long lay off.

Then in February he can really fight for his position since it will be for all the marbles in a real game.

If he turns us down in February then I can see your point but until then I have to trust his judgment along with the Manager's.

So you're point is basically, you can't see my point unless Timmy flakes on cap tying games for a third straight year? My point/opinion is based on his history with us. This is the same manager and same player who already flaked on us in the GC and the first round of WCQing. Did you also trust the JK/Timmy dynamic the last two summers? How did that work out?

If you want to all the sudden trust that the third go around has an opposite result than the first two, by all means go ahead. I however, don't like our NT being run as a charity for duel nationals.

You are making the situation out to be some sort of teenage gossip show on the CW network.

From what I have read publicly Klinsmann and Tim have been in contact with each other and they both came to the conclusion it was best for him to focus on his club issues. This was a mutual decision, not flaking out as many want it to be depicted.

Getting a callup and his acceptance of the invite for a match like this is a good sign, not a bad one.

Kicker listed him as an outside back in both the weekend game vs Wolfsburg, in which he earned a strong 2.5 rating and set up the winning goal, and today in a midweek match at Mainz.

As an outside back he's a 2-dimensional player, adequate defensively and at times quite dangerous on overlapping runs down the wing and crossing the ball. I'm not sure he's a good right midfielder, though, as I'm not sure how good his passing and combination play is; not sure he has any inside game to compliment his sideline-hugging wing skills. He's really become a regular RB over the last year+ in the Bundesliga. The RM appearances are not very recent.
