When: Sunday, 11/11/12 @ 4:00 PM EST (3:00 PM CST) Where: BBVA Compass Stadium Weather: Probably not a hurricane or a nor'easter, so who cares? What's on the line: Destiny Here's your obligatory baby animal. And it's orange, and it appears to have just eaten something orange too. Hamid and Najar are out. So likely starting lineup (4-3-2-1) ---------------Willis Neal----Jakovic----McDonald----Russell Kitchen----Saragosa----Nick DeLeon ----Pontius----Boskovic ----------Pajoy I think we'll see Salihi and De Rosario come in off the bench at some point. Can we get a sticky on this thread?
Right turn, Clyde! We've been pretty good at keeping teams to 1 or 0 goals lately and that should be our basic desire in this game. We need another great game from Big Joe Willis, I have confidence in him.
I can't wait will be watching from my place, but I am soo ready next weekend in section 127!!!!!!!!!!!!
The goal in this game is to give up no more than 1 goal. If we do that, any result is acceptable to take home with us. Secondarily, only being down by 1 goal whatever the score, would be important. But no matter what happens, there's no way you can give up on this team now. We have to manage the game. We have to keep the tempo as slow as possible, waste time (for resting and tempo, not the result), and we have to defend, defend, defend. Bring this party back to RFK.
No matter what the result in Houston, there is another game at rfk so anything can happen! Fortress RFK!
This is Special Game 3 (or C, or whatever the last ticket in our strip is) for season ticket holders, right? Can't find anything on the team's website about it, but I seem to recall that being part of the announcement when we made the playoffs...
Confirmation? Andy has served his red card suspension unless the league extended it. I don't see anything on our website. I don't think he deserves an extended suspension
Olsen said it last night post game, and it was posted on BigSoccer somewhere (either in this forum's or the N&A forum's PBP thread).
Also mentioned on the DCist site. Nothing official, but Olsen's probably right, given precedence already set. I believe Beckham served an extra game suspension for tossing a ball at a ref this season, and the league takes that sort of misconduct pretty seriously (as they should). http://dcist.com/2012/11/dc_united_defeat_hurricane_snowstor.php#photo-1 Game Notes: De Rosario was once again not on the game roster, despite being listed as "probable" on United's injury report. He later said that he's taking it "day by day" ... Olsen shared that he expects suspended right back Andy Najar to miss at least one additional game, though the final verdict on his suspension hasn't yet been handed down from the league ... Red Bulls forward Tim Cahill actually said that he may pull for United from here on out: "I want D.C. to go on and win it. Good coach. They fight hard—they don't play the best football, but they're a good team" ... The return leg of the Eastern Conference finals will be played at RFK Stadium on Sunday, November 18th at 4 p.m. A few tickets are still available via the club's website.
Wow! Because another poster listed the match time for another match that got me to thinking if I could do a one day from LAX. Yep; into IAH by noon out @ 9pm. If 700 can do a bus in a storm I can do this. These types of trips are what "miles" are for; 5ok RT for wife and I. This and the final; life is good. Oh wait it is 9 in row undefeated. Let's get a dozen! Vamos United! Double edit; the next match is also Saturday (and not mid-week). making plans for that as well. man traveling for years is paying off!!!
Dude I hope you get this before booking anything, but the first leg in Houston is on SUNDAY. Not Saturday. It was pushed back due to the postponement of our Wednesday night game.
"I want D.C. to go on and win it. Good coach. They fight hard—they don't play the best football, but they're a good team" ... And NY does??? I take offense to this BS.
