Can't quite put these in the schadenfreude thead ...

    #1:

Virginia's 13 electoral votes went to President Obama for the second straight election, and the proprietor of a store in the south central city of Bedford is not hiding his dismay.
Lyons Jewelers hung up multiple signs on the windows of the shop indicating the shop would not be open for business Wednesday, including one saying the store was closed to "mourn the loss of the America that our forefathers endowed to us," WDBJ reported.
"Lyons will reopen tomorrow to continue the fight against a president who seeks my demise" and "Shame on VA & USA" read two other signs.

    There goes the Porn Belt

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Some things just go together. Peanut butter and jelly, cheese and crackers … porn and the San Fernando Valley.
After voters approved Measure B on election day — an ordinance that would require porn actors to wear condoms while making XXX films — producers are threatening to leave Los Angeles County.
    The Valley without porn production?!
More than 55% of voters passed Measure B sending shock waves through the porn industry.

I went to take some empty bottles back to my local beverage store on Tuesday night. Store was closed after 7 PM and a big sign in the window "Vote Romney. Obama kills small business." I thought it funny. Yesterday, that sign was replaced with 'for rent' signs.

Move to Moscow. The Russian girls are prettier, cheaper, and more willing. You'll never run short of talent. And the Russian government sure as heck won't chase away the business with condom rules. Admittedly, bribes will need to be paid and the winters are damn cold. Can't have everything.

Does not this violate a woman's right to chose, if and what, birth control she uses. Damn Californians always wanting to impose their morality on a woman's body.

Asian lesbian bondage porn (with a cameo appearance by Nina Hartley) doesn't need condoms, so it's all good AFAIC.

Besides, has it been proven that folks will rent more or less porn based on the energy or distance behind a cumshot?

It's not Romney's job to worry about how his staffers get home on election night:
From the moment Mitt Romney stepped off stage Tuesday night, having just delivered a brief concession speech he wrote only that evening, the massive infrastructure surrounding his campaign quickly began to disassemble itself.

Aides taking cabs home late that night got rude awakenings when they found the credit cards linked to the campaign no longer worked.

"Fiscally conservative," sighed one aide the next day.

Not a lot of sore losers here in un-real Virginia. The Romney signs quietly got put in the recycle, while the Obama signs are still on display. But that's about it. I think it's just shock, that a virulently racist and xenophobic community - that did in fact succeed in driving a lot of Hispanics out - went for Obama by a LARGE margin. I get the sense that they just can't believe it and wonder just where all those Obama voters came from (they don't come out in odd number years for the state elections, that's why we have people like Transvaginal Bob and Duccinelli running the state). Frankly, I have the same feeling of amazement, only in a good way.

Who knew that tweets were geo-coded? Not me...

Also interesting on the map, other than the typically deep south propensity we would expect, the Washington DC - New York corridor seemed pretty well represented.

Given the population densities of that region, not terribly surprising.

Right. Look at the color (no pun intended), not the dots.

Surprising: Oklahoma, not as racist as its neighbors!

Also, the Upper Midwest doesn't seem to tweet much.

Oh, anyone who hasn't read this might dig it. I sent the link to my two brothers who, as of last night, were unfriended by our cousin and, they think, maybe even disinvited from her annual Thanksgiving dinner. There's some stuff in here that, toned own, might be useful to them in an attempt to talk her down.

But I do ask this: be a real Patriot. Look at that flag you’ve hung upside down. Look at what you’ve done to it and what that means. Thousands of our bravest men and women, braver than me, just lost limbs and in many cases their lives so that Iraqis and Afghanis could vote however they see fit. I did that on Tuesday and so did you. That’s what that flag stands for – equal access to a process, not a guarantee for any of our desired outcomes.

A country that defeated Hitler, Mussolini, and bin Laden won’t crumble because the guy you wanted to be President got beat.

You lost. Now learn from it.
