At this point...what the ******** ever...y'all might need new mods. MLS is just such a joke. Not enough to flop the matches and postpone the match at the 11th hour even though our team was fine playing in it, they also endangered supporters of both teams by not having a plan (AGAIN!!). Unreal. Edit: Look, for me, the bottom line is this: I'm not swearing off MLS forever but right now for the immediate future I can not in good conscience hand money over to a league that, after incorrectly deciding to switch homefield advantage, postponed a match more or less because one team didn't feel like playing in the weather. "Games of this caliber cannot be played in conditions like this" - Hans Backe
I keep having this image on loop in my head of the interview they did before the first game and how happy and proud of himself Garber was at how quickly they reached the decision to switch the games and how moving or postponing the game just wasn't viable. Seriously Don, next time, how about you flip it to the Weather Channel for 2 ********ing seconds before you come to the most half-assed decision you possibly can.
I've seen so many Champions League matches played with the orange ball in the ********ing snow. It happens at least once a year in either the UCL or the Europa League, or whatever it's called for now, not to mention the matches I used to go to in Germany at the end of February when the Winterpause was over. AC Milan had a famous Champions Cup snow game back in the 90s and I'm sorry but if Guillit, Van Basten and Rijkaard can play in the snow so can the fancy boy Red Bulls.
I don't have a problem with postponing this. I do think that they could have done it at noon instead of 9:00.
I really do hope we crush those cowards tomorrow night for the sole purpose of seeing that wicked Hans Backes @sshole of a face in despair. I guarantee you had hans backe given the thumbs up then we'd be watching soccer right now the ********ing corrupt moron.
Sucks for the traveling fans, good luck finding any hotel in NJ right now that can accommodate 700 people. I assume they will all be going home on the bus tonight....in a shitstorm.
This. Possibly from Idaho, so he may be somewhat more neutral. There has been a lot of incompetency going on this last week, not to mention all the rest (the stupid new format and more)
Yes, they traveled all the way up and now get to travel back sans match in a storm. ******** YOU DON ********ING GARBER YOU GIANT BAG OF DOUCHE.
Absolutely no reason to postpone this if they had properly prepared. Note: 15 dudes with shovels from the local hardware store is not proper preperation. This storm and especially this snow was not a shock to ANYONE with a passing interest in weather and access to Google. Not saying you or anyone in here has implied this bit, but anyone who buys that they couldn't have known about it as that MLS VP said on NBCSN is an idiot. Basically
Well, MLS couldn't have handled this worse if they'd tried. Jesus, I feel for those guys who traveled all the way up to Jersey for this disaster.
Now - I'd like to know, whether we advance or NY does, this team is supposed to be playing the East Conference final less than 48 hours after vs Houston or KC? Or are they going to postpone that game to sunday, like it would be logical?
Well, at least we know there will be a party going on, all the way home! Be safe, all you SE, BB, DU, LN, &etc.
Screwed over time and time again, if this had of been RFK and we were in the bulls position this game would of started a long time ago. MajorLeagueSuckups
It's supposed to be Sunday, if RedBalls win. It will be Saturday if DC ********s up their plans and wins.
Except for the travails of our 700 DCU fans it was almost worth it to watch the contrast between Ben's eagerness to play and Hans pleasing for a delay.
Not to say "I told you so" but this whole series should have been played at RFK. The storm threw NY and NJ into chaos. The safe thing to do would have been to move the series does here.
