DCU v NYRB called on account of ALOT of snow on the ground. They waited about 50 minutes after start time to call it. Let's do it again tomorrow!

I thought so too! They were shoveling for quite a while...I would have been surprised if they played after that!

Lot of people complaining about the decision to call the game...but even though the snow was gone, I wonder how hard the frozen turf was. Glad people still care about player safety.

Players, announcers and VP of competition indicated Field was soft, issue was removing snow...the snow was falling faster then they could shovel. If it wasn't the 2nd leg of a playoff game it would have been called about 2 or 3 hours sooner.

Having driven home yesterday at 4pm within a couple of miles of RBA, the decision NOT to call the game earlier was a mistake. The driving conditions were horrible, the stadium is mass transit friendly, but the trains aren't really running yet. In England, the safety of the supporters is taken into account, as well as the safety of the players. The weather conditions were the worst in the area since LAST WEEK! It was one of those drives were you couldn't see and the snow was blowing, and swirling. Should have called it off at 4pm. Bu then again, my second hobby is weather, and NO ONE predicted the weather.
