Is RB offering any other options (like buses or something) to help out fans who might be stuck due to lack of PATH, gas, or power?

You have to be kidding me! Henry is not saying bench him, he is making suggestions like a good teammate would, nothing wrong with that. But this is ridiculous to keep benching him LaToux speed did nothing to help us against DC in the 1st game, how is it going to help this time. I hope the new management is paying attention to what the coach is doing and realize there is some quality players on this team who are being completely mismanaged.

Pretty obvious stuff here. Backe/Henry were not happy with Cooper so they sit him and make up a lie about home/away games. I don't care if his passing isn't up to par. The guy finishes his chances which is a lot more than can be said about LeToux.

    And now this:
    http://www.bigapplesoccer.com/teams/redbulls2.php?article_id=32166

Again, pretty obvious the calf thing was a lie and Backe was flexing his muscle.

This team is falling apart. Thanks Austria!!!

Maybe Henry is Jealous Cooper has more goals than him??? I just don't understand this team and it's misuse of players. Barkladge, Cooper. Lindpere, Conde, etc....

Barklage injured. We knew this was a risk when we took him on. I'd give him another season to get healthy. After that you gotta let him go.

If you set them up Cooper will bag them. That's what he's good at.

Lindpere is a CM who can spell at LM. He has been misused by Backe and it seems like there is some sort of rift between them.

Conde is pure class. Again, there seems to be some kind of rift between him and Backe.

Hey we all said it at the start of the season. It's year 3 and we need to win something. So far no Open Cup and no Supporter's Shield. If Backe doesn't win the cup then he should go.

I would even be happy with just competing for one of these titles.

    So would I.

Backe/Soler/Austria blew 2 of them. 1 left. Pray to the soccer gods. As Houston showed us the other night...anything can happen.

I think Henry wants Cooper to do more than just be in the box so that he can pass it into the goal off of Coopers foot. Despite all the goals Cooper's hold up and possession play have been poor. With that said, Le Toux literally does zero things better than Cooper, other than apparently beat him in a footrace... We're way past the point where you just throw in Le Toux in case he suddenly regains his 2010 form, the guy is a black hole for possession.

Did we ever get more as to why Conde was absent, or why he wasn't on the bench despite being back with the team?

Not sure what they can do. A charter bus service covering a bunch of routes isn't something you can put together on short notice.

There are buses that run to Newark Penn Station (as well as NJ Transit on "special schedule", and then you can take the trolley (is that still running) or walk to Harrison.

It sucks, and will prevent me from going, but I can't blame RB for this.

Exactly. Which is why it's a no brainer to play Cooper. Henry might not like passing the ball into the net off Cooper's foot, but LeToux can't even get his foot on the ball.

Backe and Conde aren't on good terms. It's the only explanation. And frankly Backe needs to get over it.

NJT to Newark. Only sane option.

15-20 minute walk to the stadium. Dress warm and get a beer at one of the soccer bars on the way. I do it everytime. It's great.

That's a pretty bold set of assumptions, first that there is a rift between the two and second that it's Backe's fault, considering we know literally nothing about the situation. Conde's drunk 4AM scuffle with NJ cops doesn't exactly ease you away from the notion that maybe he's got some stuff to sort out in his personal life.

My personal opinion is that Backe has lost quite a few players.

Bunch of people here say that we have to bow to Soler and Backe for the big signing players they get us, and I agree that we have a bunch of good players, but for the 11 position on the team we only have like 6 players to fill that position, the rest five have to be filled with players foreign to this position, like the case of Lindpere a CM that have to play LW because we haven't player for that position, Conde, Solli as a RW or RB position that he don't know how to play, we don't have a legit CAM and at the last minute we get a cripple RW that can't perform because is cripple.... The second in command (Henry) who look like is the first, is ordering Backe who have to play, he want Marquez because was for his intervention that the RBNY sign him, for Henry Backe throw Agudelo and Hertzog and now is benching Cooper....

But some here say that we have to thanks him for nothing....

Conde did have to leave for personal reason for three weeks during the last weeks of the season which would piss anyone off to be honest. We were fighting for a playoff spot and Conde disappears so now that Backe doesnt want to let him just walk back into the team is fair.

1.- Yes, Conde have to live for personal reason; but with the blessing of the Coach I presume...
2.- Yes we get piss out; because we don't know what this personal reason are....
3.- If Conde left and is welcome is because he left with the coach permission and the coach haven't reason not to play him for this incident only and when we need him most....

I totally agree. However if Marquez is fit, there is no room for Conde in the lineup without conducting a big experiment. Unless you want to drop Holgerson (which Backe would never do) and play Lade-Marquez-Pearce-Conde, there just is no space for Conde in the lineup

As for Cooper's situation it's extremely bizarre. Never seen a striker who scored the second most goals in the league and coming off a 2 goal game to be benched for someone with absolutely no form.

And he might get benched again.. It's dumb logic by Backe as well. He said we needed Le Toux to keep possession with his speed/off ball running as we won't have many chances for goals but wouldn't Cooper be a better option to keep possession and to be a threat due to his size and finishing ability.

Extremely bizzare. I also hope he doesn't start Miller as well. Start Cooper and bench Miller and we'll have a good chance of winning..

All this talk about who plays and who doesn't is all well and good, but the bigger issue seems to be the weather. Up here in CT it's been snowing for an hour at least and the winds are picking up.

Even if the conditions aren't miserable enough to cancel this match, the weather will be the big story... i.e. which team adapts itself better.

Maybe Hans will have to give some of his lads a crash course on what it's like to play in Norway with a snowy gale coming off the North Sea?

Let's just say we're not going to see less of the pretty on-the-floor passing game and more aerial, route-one kind of stuff. Personally I'd like to have Cooper in the mix for that!

Didn't see this till now. Red Bull should have gotten this info out sooner. People had probably already made their minds up about the match by the time this was released.

    http://www.newyorkredbulls.com/news/2012/11/updated-travel-options-wednesdays-match

"Various NJ Transit train lines will be running from New York Penn Station to Newark Penn Station. We have added additional shuttle buses at Newark Penn Station to transport fans to Red Bull Arena. These shuttles buses are free of charge and will run in a loop from Newark Penn Station to Red Bull Arena throughout the match.

Upper 90 has round-trip buses leaving from their Brooklyn and Manhattan locations, scheduled to depart at 5:30pm.

The Football Factory at Legends, located right next to the Empire State Building, will also provide a round-trip bus scheduled to depart 60-90 minutes before kickoff, complete with complimentary beer."
