In the opening round (basically a play-in) of the CAA, James Madison needed OT to get by Uncle Wilmington 4-3. Paul Wyatt had 2 goals and an assist for the Dukes.

JMU (9-6-3) advances to face second seeded Northeastern on Friday.

Meanwhile, Hofstra eliminated George Mason 5-3 on PKs after a 0-0 tie. Hofstra didn't miss a PK and Mason's leading scorer, Taylor Morgan, missed the Patriots first PK/

Hofstra (11-5-3) advances to play top-seed Drexel.

NOTE: Because they are leaving the conference, Old Dominion was not allowed to participate in the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament.

#4 Campbell and #5 High Point face off today (Tuesday) in the Big South quarterfinals. Campbell won 2-1 in their last meeting and get 'em at home again the conference tournament. Could very well be an elimination game as I don't think the conference sends three teams to the NCAAs.

Because of Sandy, its very difficult to get fuel in NJ. Especially the area Red Bull Arena is in. Power may not have been restored fully to this area as well.

It sucks. On the Red Bull web page they are still playing their games. The Big East has an obligation to tell the fans (I assume many went out and bought flights from Chicago and DC to NY)
why they are really moving the tournament a few days before the start. Sucks

BTW, all the ACC QFs have free webcasts. Go the sites of the respective home schools.

Sean Okoli and Eric Bird trade goals early in the 2nd. 2-2-.

David Clemens, who had 2 goals yesterday, tied it for Tech early in the 1st but Pat Mullins put Maryland up 2-1 shortly thereafter. Tech has since had a player sent off.

    It's a final in Maryland, 2-1.

Meanwhile, Virginia and Wake headed to OT 2-2.

    UNC still leads Duke, 1-0.

Matchtracker hasn't updated Clemson-Wake since halftime, when it was scoreless.

In the Big South tournament, Coastal Carolina leads Presbyterian 5-0, a match made noteworthy because Presbyterian has had FOUR yellow cards. What would John Calvin say?

PKs coming in Winston Salem. Counts as a tie for both teams, which is a good result, RPI-wise, for UVa.

And the only player to miss a PK in the Virginia-Wake shootout is the only one who did the "hesitation" step. When will players learn to just go up and kick the darn thing?
Anyway, Virginia and UNC play yet again the ACC semifinals on Friday

Wake-UVA game was fun to watch. Neither team played a lick of defense.
