Ronaldo misses point blank. Great foot save by the German the keeper. Borussia holding on.

I love how RM fans said after the defeat in Germany they would easily win at home. :D

Ozil ties it up on the FK. Bad goal keeping. Very saveable.

It was so obvious Ozil was taking that one. Ronaldo didn't even do his "macho" pose.

Balotelli almost jumps the ref at the end of the game on a non-PK call.

    Fulltime in Group C
    Milan 1-1 Malaga
    Anderlecht 1-0 Zenit

    Málaga ....... 10 pts
    Milan ........... 5
    Anderlecht ... 4
    Zenit ............. 3

Málaga not yet guaranteed a spot in the Round of 16 but as close as one can come.

    EDIT:
Actually, since Milan and Anderlecht still have to play each other again it looks like Malaga have indeed qualified for the Round of 16. :D Congrats to the Champions League newcomers!

Pretty much. For them to go through they'd need to beat RM at home and Borussia away while needing RM to lose to Ajax at home and Ajax not to get any additional points. Even if RM had lost today, they'd still be in a decent situation.

Yep, City can forget about it. Better luck next year.

Ajax hurt too, should've won. LPB and Dortmund obv to go through (deservedly). Some group winners won't like the draw, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Yup. TBH, when LPB were losing with 10 minutes to go, I was kind of cheering for Man City to win. Would've made things very interesting in matchday 5.
Oh well... LPB still has to go for a result against Man City so hopefully all these tough games will take a toll later in the season.

Since mathematically Man City still has a chance, my guess is that at least consciously they will still go for it. They could very well give RM some trouble. That first game at the Bernabeu seems to have really dealt them a psychological blow which they haven't recovered from. Had that been at least a tie, things would have been much different right now.

It's not just this season. If we include last season they've played ten matches in the CL and their only wins have come against a weak Villarreal and a Bayern reserve outfit. And when they're five minutes away from winning at the Bernabeu they still managed to walk out of there without a point. Pitiful.
And when they were in the Europa League the only thing they took away from that was some crazy 'dance'.
"Let's all do the Poznan!"

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you all that there was a funny moment when Ajax was up 2-0. The English announcer said "Ajax have hardly done anything and find themselves up 2-0." They scored off two set pieces.

Now rewind a couple weeks ago and recall how Celtic were widely lauded for their goal (from a set piece, against the run of play). It made me laugh at how biased some announcers are.

They are the biggest overly self hyped fans in the world... They have their heads so far up their own ass they can't see what's in front of them....

When was the last time they were in a final? Where have they been since 2002?

They will lose time and time again against good teams in the CL...

Team Portugal won't do jack shit in the champions league not now not ever ;)

They are really missing Marcelo on the left side. Khedira also typically gives them more muscle in the middle and his absence is definitely felt. Now they are going to have to deal without Benzema and Higuain.

Now ... with a full strength squad, I'd say they are still a very tough team to beat and one of top team in the world. I think with the injuries they may very wel struggle to maintain consistency in La Liga. But in the CL, if these players become healthy at the crucial point of the competition (QF forward or even R16), I'd expect them to be contenders to win it. I wouldn't underestimate them. They may lose the drive for winning La Liga again, but the CL will give them plenty of incentive.

I have to disagree.. Even with full healthy squad they continue to show the same flaws against top teams in the CL..

They have no defensive discipline... Their front 4 don't really track back. If a good team floods the midfield, they will be outgunned time and time again..

The reason why they are so deadly on counters is because their front 4 is just standing there by the half line basically waiting for the ball to get to them...

Seriously who tracks back? Ronaldo????? Ha! Ozil?? Benzema??? The only person who might is di Maria..

This will always be an issue with RM unless something fundamental changes in that club..

Literally you can see it, their midfield is constantly 4 vs 2

Leaving Khedira and Alonso doing all the dirty work and outgunned..

Then u look ahead and u see Ronaldo at the half with his hands by his hips, Benz just buzzing around, Ozil running back and forth not really doing jack squat defensively...

    I just don't see it..
