Another original club logo. The crown and the lion. Geez, that's like every American team putting something patriotic or regional in their logo and Jesus H. Christ, I'm already sick of writing this sentence. I just know I'm unbeaten in the league so far!

Anyways we haven't lost to them in a while. Then again, they were also relegated for a few seasons. They did beat us 6-1 away embarrassingly before, and I think we drew them in 2008.

I think this is no shave November. I'll post a pic of my ugly face for those to see later.

We are playing at home against Real Zaragoza, another team in La Liga.

    10/21 Granada (A) W 2-1 La Liga
    10/28 Sevilla (H) W 2-1 La Liga
    10/31 Granada (H) W 1-0 Esp Cup

They are ninth in the table, so that's not too bad for a team of semi-professionals.

Q: Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, an intelligent Barcelona supporter, and an old drunk are walking down the street together when simultaneously they each spot a fifty quid note. Who gets it?
A: The old drunk, of course; the other three are mythical creatures.

A father and son were eating breakfast. The father's newspaper had the headline, "Van Gogh sold for £8 million".
The son asked "Is he worth it, Dad?"
The father, surprised at his son's interest in fine art, replied "I suppose so, son. Why do you ask?"
The son said "Well, Liverpool paid more than that for Stan Collymore, and he was crap."

Steve Bruce signed a new superkid from foreign parts. On the first day of training, Steve Bruce gets a ball and says, “You get this and kick it at the goal.” The new superkid looks a bit bewildered but carries on nonetheless.
The next day of training same thing happened. Steve Bruce says, “You get this and score a goal.” Again the kid looks bewildered but carries on.
The third day, the same thing: “You get this and score a goal.” Finally the foreign superkid gets up and says, “Boss, I speak very good English and know what to do.”
Steve Bruce says, “Sit down son, I'm talking to Heskey!”

St. Peter was manning the Pearly Gates when 40 Atletico Madrid fans showed up. Never having seen anyone from Atletico at heaven's door, St. Peter said he would have to check with God. After hearing the news, God instructed him to admit the 10 most virtuous from the group.
A few minutes later, Saint Peter returned to God breathless and said, "They're gone."
"What? All of the Atletico fans are gone?"
    asked God.

"No" replied Saint Peter "The Pearly Gates!"

A man arrives at the gates of heaven, where St. Peter greets him and says: "Before I can let you enter I must ask you what you have done in your life that was particularly good."
The man racks his brains for a few minutes and then admits to St Peter that he hasn't done anything particularly good in his life.
"Well," says St Peter, "have you done anything particularly brave in your life?"
"Yes, I have," replies the man proudly.
St Peter asks the man to give an account of his bravery.
So the man explains, "I was refereeing this important match between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Camp Nou. The score was 0-0 and there was only one more minute of play to go in the second half when I awarded a penalty against Barcelona at their end."
"Yes," responded St Peter, "I agree that was a real act of bravery. Can you perhaps tell me when this took place?"
"Certainly," the man replied, "about three minutes ago."

I can’t believe we only managed a draw against a rubbish team we should easily have beaten. . . . I’m ashamed to call myself Algerian - said a supporter after the World Cup game with England.

Is it a problem for you not having Xabi Alonso and Khedira at all?
No, I'd like to have them both of course, but it's no problem, we have the squad to remedy it. We haven't had Marcelo and Fabio for a long time, but life goes on. We can't have Xabi Alonso and Khedira tomorrow, but we have other players and we are confident that we'll earn the points that are so important.
In the last press conference here, you named academy players from 1999 on, but you left out players like Negredo, Etoo', etc. [Jose interrupts the journalist, clearly annoyed.]
The list I gave last time is a list for smart people, who understand, a list about the 20, 30, 50 players who come and go. All these players you're naming, who are having a better career, it's normal. But to put an end to this topic, because I think it's enough now, there are three key moments in Real Madrid's history: the finals in Paris, Amsterdam and Glasgow. In the Amsterdam final, two academy players Sanchis and Raúl; in the Paris final, two as well --Raúl and Casillas; and in the Glasgow final, one academy player on the starting XI --Raúl.
What's your opinion regarding how the Copa del Rey should be played (one match instead of two)...?
My opinion doesn't matter. I have an opinion but it doesn't matter. What I always try to do is to avoid things like what happened against Alcorcón, by motivating the people, making them aware that Real Madrid is Real Madrid and we can't let a lower-division team eject us. If we are out, then it should be against First Division teams, who have the level for that. That is the Copa.
Based on the performances of academy players such as Álex, José Rodríguez, Morata, etc., are you considering giving them more playing time tomorrow?
What matters the most is to win. And I think the Madridistas feel the same way, what matters to them is for the team to win games. Against Alcoyano we won, some younger players got to play, José could start, perfect. But it's perfect because we won.
When are you expecting Khedira and to be back from their injuries?
I don't expect it. They're not healthy for tomorrow or Dortmund and they won't be for Levante. That's why I don't have expectations. Among the injured players, the only one who is healthy again is Arbeloa.
Did you have a chance to talk to José Rodríguez. How is he feeling about all the positive critiques he's been receiving?
I didn't talk to him. He trained yesterday, just as all the players who played. The positive critiques are normal, because it was his debut, so it's normal that these few days are filled with emotion, but that's about it, life goes on. Off to work and, if possible, to play more.
Did you ask for Toril to be taken off his responsibilities with Castilla and for you to have more?
    No, not at all.
When you say Arbeloa is healthy again, are you saying he's ready to play...?
    Yes, yes.
You want to put an end to this topic about the academy, but you opened the door first, so what summary would you make about everything that has been said, about Toril not using the players in the same positions as they would on the first team, etc.?
I said and I'll say it again: we both have the autonomy to do what we want with our teams. That's why the topic is closed. Now, I have an opinion and it hasn't changed. For example, José Rodríguez that you like so much, he doesn't play with Castilla, but players who are 24-25 do. For me, him playing would be better than Castilla ranking 6, 7, 8. That's what training is about, training players.
To wrap up about the academy...
It's enough, enough with the academy.
Zaragoza is not the same team as they were last season. What's the key to win tomorrow?
Play well. As you said, Zaragoza is building their way peacefully, every game they either earn points or are close to. Nothing to do with the team who was struggling last season. And we have to play well, because when Real Madrid doesn't play well, Real Madrid doesn't win. We have to play well. Xabi and Khedira are not here, but we have a good squad and players who can perform well. We have to leave aside the fact that we are playing in Champions' League on Tuesday. We've been able to give some rest to players who virtually play 90 minutes in every match this week. We've studied Zaragoza well, we've analyzed the team in details to try and know them better: they have a good coach, tactics, etc.
Are there things that you do like about Real Madrid Castilla?
If there are things that I like? Yes, of course.
About the rumors linking you and Cristiano Ronaldo to PSG...
    I don't know anything.
Ok, but can you imagine Real Madrid without Cristiano?
Yes, I imagine Real Madrid without him. If Real Madrid depended on a player, or a coach for that matter, it wouldn't be the team it is. Real Madrid is above everything.
The last question was asked and answered in English. It was fun, because Mourinho was sort of teasing Kay Murray about her question. She asked about Özil's return to form

    Good to see Arbs back.

Interesting to see us play without Alonso in the lineup.

Good stuff there from Angel and Ronnie

But still... what on earth is wrong with this team!?

Better than my Russian one. :D

(in all seriousness, I don't mind this very much. Very good quality, sopcast so no ads, and they let in a decent amount of crowd noise)

Alright we've gotten much better over the last 5 mins

But boy does Modric have a lot of work to do. Good to see him getting minutes for that reason.

That nice little pass from Higuain and the miscommunication confusion between Angel and Cristiano is our season in a microcosm.
