not sure if anybody has posted this. www.mislnation.com has games from last year and i assume its the host for next year.
Sweet! It also appears to be free again this year. From what I can gather from the PASL, they will be charging $90 for the season for broadcasts on America One Sports. Syd, is this correct?
I just watched a few minutes from Lancers vs Baltimore and when i went to full screen the players were distorted. I hope they fix that with next years broadcast. I also hope they put last years games in the on demand part. I would like a couple copies to add to my 1200 Indoor Soccer game obsession collection. I would be interested in seeing some PASL Games as well. I was able to get copies of some games from the Louisville Lightning and San Diego Sockers both teams were very cool with helping out and Louisville even sent me a jersey.. The rest of the teams never even responded to emails even when i offered to buy them.
its worse for me because i hook my tv to my computer with a HDMI cable and on to a 68 inch tv and it gets fuzzy so i hope they do get it fixed .
Wow thats expensive most people will only want to watch there home team play and they only play a 16 game season that $5.62 a game if you only watch your home team play
It's not fixing something. The teams have to transmit 16:9 aspect ratio. Some arenas aren't equipped for that. Also as far as quality. They have to pay for more band width! You can't cram the water from a fire hose down a garden hose sized path. Information is lost
You make a great point I know Baltimores feed is good because its the same tape used to replay on tv on tuesday at 8:00 It would be nice for the Misl teams to pay the money for a better quality broadcast by i am sure it will be the same as last year
I am very impressed by MISLNation.com huge upgrade from last year. This is a very nice feature the MISL has done with the fans in mind in my opinion. Check out the Comets and Blast team pages. I didn't even notice this the first time I logged in. http://www.unation.com/MissouriComets http://www.unation.com/BaltimoreBlast
So, wait....the old domain, the one that caused such consternation when it lapsed, isn't being used anymore? Huh. I believe I had that one.
Kenn they still own that domain it says that the site its under construction thats a fancy way of saying its closed and you will be redirected to a new site
Tape quailty is good but web encoding is where the quality is lost. You need a very fast connection. Not shared with other computers to get a clean signal. My guess is most teams just use whatever internet connection the arena has to transmit. No matter the speed
this could be why you cant access the internet on game days at the baltimore arena using their wifi service but its only like this during blast games
Example 1 is low grade WEB HD. Minimum requirements to be considered Web HD. Not the same as broadcast HD Example 2 is hi end Web HD. Uncompressed. Like what paid services like MLSLive or ESPN3 use. Encoding at 6 gigabytes per second is massive data. Teams aren't going to spend a bunch of money for this. Maybe a league championship but not regular games. It also take a very good encoder. Not Ustream, etc.
Here's the press release: http://misl.uslsoccer.com/home/674940.html One interesting tidbit not previously mentioned- there will be a weekly podcast, MISL Weekly. "In addition to live and full-length game archives, MISLnation.com will feature MISL Weekly, an audio podcast that will uncover the personalities behind the game. Every Wednesday the latest podcast will be available featuring coaches, player, and MISL journalists from throughout North America."
Point of interest, if you are planning on watching the games online make sure you go to MISLnation.com and not the link for "MISL Live" on the MISL home page as that is still "under construction" and not (yet) liked to MISLnation.com.
So far this is the worse quality stream I've seen out of Syracuse! Keeps losing the stream , pixelating, terrible.
Syracuse was always the worst last year too. On a brighter note, I can now watch games on my iPad this year! Score!
This stream is horrible so far. Keeps pausing for 15-30 seconds at a time. I imagine the stream is already several minutes behind, and the game just kicked off.
Hmm. They also appear to be switching the main viewing angle from one side to the other. First Chicago is attacking the right side of the screen, then Syracuse is. Did they do this last year?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/180-degree_rule One thing we never ever do in sports broadcasting is break this rule! Apparently the high school kid cutting the Syracuse webcast didn't take tv 101 yet
