I was wondering, Since our first home game is sold out , does that mean that even the visiting supporters section is taken? Or does the FO reserve those until they find out who we are playing ?
They announced a couple weeks ago that the game had been sold out, however, my guess is that if we end up playing Vancouver they might have a few more tickets available since their travelling support would not be as great as LA's. And who knows how many would be coming from LA considering the problem that occurred at the last game.
yo left out Comcast for the Southeast... =p Seriously though, with the Crew out I am rooting for you guys! Best of luck!
So the good news is that the team is as healthy as it's been all year. The only guys listed on the injury report yesterday are Ward, Ballouchy, Hustedt (Out) and Pizarro (Probable). I guess holding out Gordon and Dawkins in the Portland game was purely precautionary. Most of the lineup is pretty obvious, with the only real questions who starts up top with Wondo - Gordon or Lenhart? And who starts on defense with Bernardez - Hernandez or Opara? I'm guessing that Lenhart starts (as he'll be more fit, Gordon hasn't started in a match since Oct 6, and hasn't played since his sub appearance with the US team Oct 12). On defense, it seems like Hernandez will start since he started in Portland and seemed like one of the better defenders on the day. So the lineup will probably look like this: Wondo - Lenhart Dawkins - Baca - Cronin - Chavez Morrow - Hernandez - Bernardez - Beitashour Busch Bench: Gordon, Salinas, Stephenson, Corrales, Opara, Ring, Bingham The goal of the first leg of the playoffs is usually to get out with a draw or nothing worse than a one goal loss if you are the road team. It will be interesting to see if the Quakes play a bit more conservatively than normal and try to maintain more possession, or if they play direct and force the issue and try to score the early goal.
Gawd -- I hope not. This is not a team that is built for conservative play. It seems to me that all of the better games this season have been the result of "balls-to-the-walls" play. I sure don't expect Frank to try and change a winning recipe right now!
I got an email the other day that said they had 100 tickets left - only catch is you had to put money down on a 2013 season ticket... I'd try Stubhub.com. Even if the game is sold out, there could be a few people scalping- er, "trying to get rid of" tickets. That might be your best bet, unless someone on these forums has some extras (which happens from time to time).
<sigh> Once again, I may have an extra ticket. I got 8 and I think we are just using 7. P.S. And I am not a scalper. I was trying to give away the ticket to the LA game and no one wanted it!
since is a soldout game, I may need it (not sure yet), i will chack with you a day before the game, but if you find a deserving Quakes fan that want it by all means....
Just did a search on Stubhub - looks like there are a ton of tickets on there, so I hope this helps anyone still looking for tickets: http://www.stubhub.com/san-jose-earthquakes-playoff-tickets/earthquakes-vs-tbd-11-7-2012-4149733/ Doesn't look like the prices are too bad. Most of these are genuinely STH who can't make the game. Thankfully with the Quakes/MLS it's small enough that people don't make careers out of scalping online like the NFL/NBA.
Giant's tickets for the World Series were off the hook. Yeah, people will pay good prices to see their local team become a champion.
