Well now that NBCUniversal has taken the rights (exclusively) to ALL 380 EPL games for the USA in both English and Spanish for the 2013/14 season and onward they have quite the monopoly in the USA on soccer what with MLS, US national team and the Olympics rights as well.

They seem committed and if it means we can ditch those bloody awful ESPN and Fox commentators who all seem to hate Liverpool then great. That said, NBCU have been a client of mine for years, I don't hold out great hopes for the style of their coverage.

No idea why the times aren't showing on the original post (2 back) but it's 4p/3p/2p/and 1p. Odd.

I hope that they do a better job than what we have now and show all the games.
Football is supposed to be "the sport" in North American in the next few years, catching on exponentially.
All those kids that we've coached are finally having their say.

Thia sounds good as well: NBCUniversal’s Telemundo and mun2 also provide comprehensive Spanish-language soccer coverage. Both channels will air Premier League matches, as well as serve as the U.S. Spanish-language home for the FIFA World Cup from 2015 through 2022.

NBC have already taken over the Formula One racing for next season as well.

And they're trying to lock the baseball up. That might be of interest to the aflicted

That has to be the death blow to FOX Soccer.

How much longer does Gol TV have the Bundesliga rights Stateside?

    I hope I have access to free/legal streams like I do w/ ESPN3.

How much longer does Fox Soccer have with the Champions League?

I was actually kinda shocked beIN didn't grab the EPL.

I can't imagine how it can go on unless it buys rebroadcast rights from NBCU? NBCU have been pushing into the market so much lately, it's ever since Comcast purchased them (well a majority share at least). They have so much collateral that they can use to put football on; The big deal for them in this is of course the advertising revenues that come with it, if you control the majority of a market place you can dictate your market value. I am in NYC next week and am going to go hang out with my friends from NBC Sports and see what I can find out. I dare to hope it will be better I suppose.

NBCU has been on a big push for streaming content and you can bet you'll see a deal with Hulu and an online option for games.

Even though no USA coverage is scheduled, is this going to be available online? (AKA, if I was in the UK, could I watch this game?)

didn't see it on Espn3 or FoxSoccer2Go. I'm not aware if beIN (who has the rights to the Capital One Cup) has online streaming yet.

The NBC press release talks about having all games available online and on the NBC sports extra app, a free app which I used during the olympics and it was a very good app. It definately seems like this would end the need for illegal streams, or paying ridiculous money for extra channels (plus) and apps (fox soccer to go).

Love it if you could find something about how they;re going to handle it. During the Olympics they had a bunch of channels they used. Hope they can give the same coverage to the EPL.

"If you can" Let them know that "four" talking heads all giving opinions of a league they know little about and talking down to us as if we didn't. Is not worth our time or their pay.

There you go, I could be the colour man.....Oh can we still say that without an 8 week suspension...?
    (or 4..)

Edit: Just remembering, a few years back we picked up a match from England, an oddity then and for a 20 minute period, the comm. singular, didn't say a word. Didn't have to, it was a brilliant match.
    Imagine that happening now??????

Hulu would be fantastic as I don't need my laptop to stream Hulu+, as it is available on my Roku's. It's only $8/month - I will re-up it in a heartbeat.

I watched the Fox Soccer news and the Sky sports news last night and what a difference. Fox was all about the announcers or comms. Their comments and their opinions.

Sky was about the sport and what happened. The anouncers where just that, announcers.

Fox is a lot like the NFL reports only the guys are 4 times the size, suites are too small and look like their ties will stangle them. 4 guys sitting at a desk spouting opinions.

    Time for that to change.

Arlow White will likely be a main commentator.

i like him. at first, i thought he'd be another guy who they put on just because he has an english accent, but he has actually impressed me very much. he seems very professional about his job, rather than most of the guys on FSC or ESPN who just do the 'shoot from the hip, they won't know any difference' thing.

I've heard him on BBC's world football phone-in. I like that he doesn't seem to be an English-voice-for-hire type of mercenary type of guy. He's very into the development of football in the US.

Arlo White, eh? Is that where now is? He's actually a good football reporter who, unfortunately, was pushed beyond his station BBC to commentate on cricket. He was absolutely lost there.

He's got throwball experience - he did commentary for the Superbowl for Radio 5 one year but I don't hold that against him:eek:. I like him, seems to cut through the dross and gets really lively on air. Pair him up with Macca and we're set.
