Born Sérgio Daniel Duarte on January 11th, 1993 in the USA/Portugal (?). He is dual-citizen, I believe. He is part of the first team at Clube Desportivo Nacional who placed 7th last year in the first tier of Portuguese soccer. Duarte plays a midfielder. He has one appearance this year for 32 minutes as a sub.

Does anyone know how he has affiliation with the US? (Wikipedia claims he was born in Portugal).

Notice... on that third link they somehow have his personal Facebook page (very creepy, yes I know) and he posts English captions to his profile pictures.

I believe there is alrady a thread for him. I'm sure any insights you can provide on it willl be greatly appreciated.

I've just recently heard of this guy but it's pretty cool that we have two young yanks in Portugal's top flight now with him and Tony Taylor.

Duarte not in the 18 again and hasn't been for the past few matches. I'm not sure if he is injured or if its just been the coach's choice.

I kinda want to take credit for finding him because I sent Brian Sciaretta an email asking if he had any idea about him and I never got a response back. ;)

I saw an interview with him that mentioned he was a winger, but converted to a dmid position. I picked up a pretty detailed Primeira Liga preview magazine when I visited earlier this year, but he isnt mentioned or listed in it.

They are currently in relegation, and are 6 points out of a Europa qualifying spot.

CD Nacional are ussually alot better then they have shown they have several international players that currently start for their NT players like Matheus (Angola), Skolnik and Mhilhic (Slovenia), Manueal Da Costa (Portugal), Vladen (Montenegro).

But his CDM role will be hard for him since players like Rene Mhihlic is the starter but its only a matter of time before other teams snap him up. Dinamo Zagreb really want him and got turned down so Duarte may have difficult times but he should atleast have by seasons end some decent games in
