I think I've seen enough of Mannone to come to the conclusion that we need a better #2 keeper. He does not fill me with confidence and yesterday's blunder is especially hard to take given that we are performing with such lackluster ennui.

Technically he is our #3. And I don't see what he has done wrong to warrant the recent abuse he is getting now after one blunder. And it was not that bad a blunder, the ball was swerving to his right so even a palm the other way would make it turn to the right. What went wrong was his reaction time which is not new for keepers.

I'd say he's our number 2 now that Fabianski looks like he's too fragile to rely on. Mannone looked at fault for that goal to me but he's never been good enough to play for a 'top four' side so I'm not going to 'abuse' him.

The boy Szcenzy made a few errors last season (against Norwich at home for one). that doesn't make him shit overall. collectively we were poor against Norwich.

And if Giroud doesn't work out, buy Cavani.

I was called a troll when I suggested Brad Guzan. I personally like Al-Habsi a lot. Great reflexes, fearless, calm head. Our keeper situation has been dire for a long time.

Forget that when we can buy back Eboue. And while at it, let's reinforce by bringing back Denilson and Bendtner.

After one blunder? He hasn't looked comfortable in a match yet. It'd be different if had a career of being a quality keeper, and made a mistake. But he's just not good enough.

Arsenal has no quality keeper at the club. Maybe WS one day, but not now. As for transfers, I have no idea. December is never an easy time to buy.

Made even harder by the fact that the transfer window doesn't open until January.

Ugh, indeed. My brain is still too pissed off (or hungover...) after the weekend to function properly. ;)

I am not saying he is good enough, at least for Arsenal. He is our #3. He did not expect to be in this position and it was kinda to late when he was forced in (and his great August helped to). For a #3 keeper he has done brilliantly.

OMG, if we got Al-Habsi I would be the happiest man in the world! Seriously, for a Wigan keeper he is really good. Great reflexes and on his day, everything about him is good. He is an experienced international keeper who would provide great advice and help to Chesney.

I was watching the Newcastle - Sunderland match yesterday and at one point the commentator said "Tim Krul has really done well. A Dutch international at a young age. Really learned well from Steven Harper, the former Newcastle #1."

That is what I picture if Al-Habsi joins us. A keeper who would advise Chesney and once the complete keeper he can come in and Al-Habsi can be number 2. Fabianski and Mannone will have moved on. Martinez eventually but who knows, maybe Martinez can rise above Ches.

we need a quality keeper, still not sold on chez after a while of him as number 1 and his terrible game at the euro

we need a striker badly, giroud is poor lately....he lacks confidence, or at leasta theo replacement!

I will bypass Christmas, Three Kings Day and Kwanzaa completely if we can get Cavani at the Emirates on New Years Day... Wont even put a tree up, although the Mrs. may require the stringing of lights outside.

But he is American = $hit to many

Never mind that some of the best EPL keepers over the years have been Americans. I cringed when Arseblogger said Chesney was better than the Howards of the world. Really? Chesney is a decent young keeper and the best of a terrible lot. I'd say that a the moment 14 teams have better keepers than us in the EPL.

Guzan was available for a free.

Chez' distro can be cringe inducing. The rest of his game is adequate, I think.

Speaking of American keepers, what happened to the next generation? Johnson, Hamid, Rimando are really, really run of the mill and said to be our best after Howard and Guzan. Have to wonder what the selection process is in the MLS. Could you see any of those three playing for any club in any first tier league in Europe? No way.

But is Guzan better than Mannone or Fabianski? I have seen Guzan in person. Imposing fukker. Seems to have pushed Given out of the way. I remember when so many Gooners had a hard on for Given.
