The four Ulsan-NT members (Kwak Tae-Hwi, Lee Keun-Ho, Kim Shin Wook and Kim Young-Kwang) will fly straight to Uzbekistan from Iran, after the Iran match.
This means they will arrive (in Uzbekistan) earlier then the other Ulsan members and the match against Bunyodkor will be on the 24th.

Fresh new start. Nice one Seol. Let's hope this doesn't turn into a shitstorm like the last one.

Can't wait until the game. Will be a tough one playing away in Tehran. I predict a draw.

Is there an explanation of the lack of friendlies?
They could have just trained and played in neighbouring countries of iran and Uzbekistan, if those two fas were anal and not courteous to KFA.

You're certainly not outplaying your opponent with a tie.
In football, the goal is to score goals.

So literally speaking, "outplaying" would refer to scoring goals.

If you're holding onto the ball for 90+ minutes and trailing, there is a SERIOUS problem.

If you want my opinion, Iranians were waiting Koreans around the corner for this game.
    And it was smartly done.

Defend, let them break their teeth and keep possession.

    It's called tactics.

I don't know if you remember the AC game between Korea and Iran, but from what I remember it was a pretty even game. So if you think Korea totally "outplayed" Iran just because they kept hitting on their defense for +90 minutes, you're dreaming.

Reminds me the KNT - Uruguay of 2010 WC, where Uruguay would leave possession to Korea on purpose and immediately spank Korea and take the ball back when they felt like it.

Well, if you don't give the ball to the opposition, they can never score.
But without creating any meaningful chances, possession is nothing but keep-away.

    That's my point.

And to play possession football you need quality individualities.

Not every team can play like Spain, or they would.

Korea has the edge on Iran, but it's not enough to win with the manner.
If you want to get the job done play simple football.

I don't have any experience in coaching, so I'll refrain from throwing tactics and schemes around.
Playing FIFA and PES is simply not enough, if you know what I mean.

I would advise the KFA to quickly find a competent foreign coach familiar with Korean football.
    That is just my opinion.

The K-league gratin works against Japan and Australia, but it'll be a totally different story in 2014.

you clearly don't understand tactics. and its not worth arguing about. if we were the ones outplayed then yes i would worry. but we werent outplayed we were outscored which is a big difference. when i played in a high school semi final match we played the top team and were outplayed BUT we won the match scoring on our only shot of the entire match. sometimes it just happens where the better team doesnt win and it constantly happens in football more than any other sport.

best thing to do is keep the defense the same and work on the finishing. our players need to get more consistent playing time at their clubs before the march match vs Qatar. and playing time will be far more beneficial than anything a manager change or tactics change will do.

No losing team is a better team unless 1) the team that won cheated, or 2) the officiating was blatantly poor to a point where one team kept getting screwed.

Iran deserved to win. Their defending was solid overall. And Choi Gang-hee's decision to play only two central midfielders was quite possibly the dumbest mistake made by a KNT manager in recent years (That's saying a lot).

lol dumber than playing Kim Jae Sung at RB for the national team?

I would say yes (Plus, Choi Gang-hee already rivaled Jo Gwang-rae with screwing up the RB position by playing Ko Yo-han there against Uzbekistan). The magnitude of this match was bigger. We needed an additional passer in midfield to withstand Iran's pressure in midfield. Putting Kim Shin-wook behind Park Ju-young is a retarded decision even from a fundamental standpoint.

Like I stated earlier FIFA and PES is not enough to proclaim myself a tactic master.
So you could put it that way.

But somehow I hardly doubt you're much more advanced than me or anyone else on this board in that department. Sorry for doubting.

Except if you can testify of a coaching degree, which I hardly doubt again ..

When you're behind on the scoreboard you're not outplaying anyone, you're just losing.
You didn't expect Iran to unlock it's defense to let Korea get in did you ? What would you do as a coach if you were ahead, knowing that the opposite team has better technical abilities and firepower ?

Right, you would lock the doors and wait.
That's what Iran did, and it was well done.

    Korea was outplayed.

don't mistake desperation for tactical genius. both Irans wins came on fluky goals in matches they didn't deserve to win.

If Iran didn't deserve to win playing with 10 men in second half, Korea didn't deserve to be on the same field with them.

Give credit to Iran. The way they played wasn't pretty but they fought hard for a win. But there's no need to panic about this loss... We hit the bar twice and were barely beaten at a notoriously difficult away stadium. And we also had Kim Shin Wook in place of Koo Ja Cheol. I love Wookie, but there's a reason why we were so unusually bad in the playmaking dept. The KNT sorely missed Koo playing as CAM. As long as CKH doesn't continue to make ridiculous selections like KSW playing behind PCY, we'll be fine. Korea simply outclasses every team in Asia except Japan.

If both Korea and Iran were to play at the World Cup, Korea would be the likelier team to perform better against the world's best teams. I'm not sure if any sane person can dispute this. Our team is more talented.

But to say that Iran didn't deserve to beat us last week because they relied on desperation to win is dumb at worst and delusional at best. If anything, they should be PRAISED for playing with the kind of urgency they played with. And please stop talking about tactics. Talking about Iran's tactics is pointless when Choi Gang-hee's tactics were an embarrassment in and of itself.

Let's just put the loss behind us. Are we going to talk about the goddamn match until the next qualifier? A loss is a loss is a loss.

Any talk of the KFA referring to CKH or his ineptitude in coaching the NT?

i hope not. there's no need for negative attention on the NT. we all know CKH's time is limited. playing KSW in the hole was the stupidest tactical decision i've witnessed.
