Not a big fan, to me he is Giovinco v.2, lots of potential, and an average performer. If we need a RWF as cover for Di Maria, I would of use Benzema, Callejon or Jese before thinking of Shaarawy.

What we need is a striker and a right back.

On FIFA he turns into an 89 overall. So yes. :)

Some even knew about him during his River days... And still don't see the need to switch out 2 of the best strikers in the world for someone who's pretty much the same.

If Higuain played for any other team this board would scream their lungs out saying we need to sign this guy.

I've been saying he's excellent for a while. I was right of course.

Agreed. He hasn't been sharp enough this season, but I'm confident he'll get there. Count me as one of those on here that are happy as hell to have 2 strikers of such quality.

Also, we all know that the first option is always Ronaldo the way this team is structured (not saying thats bad) and Benz/Higuain need to fit in around that. Sometimes they get it right and sometimes they don't and look a bit forgotten out there. Real talk. 06-07-08 our strikers were the focal point. But then Robben, Ronaldo, Kaka, Ozil, and Di Maria came around and changed that.

All that aside, good as they are we should all expect both strikers to improve pretty quickly here.

There's a difference between being 'known' and attracting interest from Real Madrid. Which he did back in Porto.

Why would we switch out two strikers for one? Are you a retard or something?

We're talking about Higuain FUERA and Falcao in, not both, and not Benzema, except for a few delusional fanboys.

Falcao 'pretty much the same' as Higuain? You're absolutely right, except, you're not.

    No, not really.

And you've managed to gather all that about a 19-year old in the few games he's played?

Hmm you hinted earlier that you knew about him when he played for Porto, I just said some knew him before that. And I'm sure if I wanted to I could dig up an article linking Falcao while at River to Real Madrid, it's not unheard of, us singing a River Plate player... Let's see... who was the last one?

Why the attitude? Feeling insecure about something?

I meant that I wouldn't want to switch out any of our 2 main strikers for anyone else.

And that's your opinion that Falcao is so much better than Higuain, I don't feel like that and I'm very pleased by his contribution throughout his stay with us. All in all Falcao wouldn't be enough of an upgrade to warrant us going after him, same the Agüero situation.

That's just my 2 cents. you're free to disagree, but maybe we can keep it civil?

Why insult someone over something like this ? This type of crap really shouldn't be tolerated.

And why did you do that? How does it contribute to the debate? You know very well what I meant by people 'knowing' about him. I've wanted him here for years, but I guess it's easier to just say that people are only asking for him based on these past two months than to acknowledge the fact that he's always been a fantastic player who has been improving season after season, while our guy seems to be going in the opposite direction.

What's the difference between calling someone a retard after they've said something idiotic, and calling someone an a**hole after they've said something rude?

Why have a discussion then? If you guys don't agree, just call each other retards from the start and get it over with. Why waste 2 pages of this thread?

One could be pleased by his contribution here, yet still be able to admit that Falcao is currently a better striker. Falcao right now is a far better version of Higuain, in pretty much every aspect. Benzema still offers something different to both of them, which is why Gonzalo would likely be the one to go if we do get Falcao.

But as has been stated, it's early in the season, plenty of time for our two guys to right the ship, and if they do, we'll look back on these arguments and laugh. If they don't we might be the owners of a shiny new Falcao at the beginning of next season.

So Balague announced exclusively that Barca have already paid part of the transfer fee to sign Neymar after the World Cup. First i have heard of this and has it been in any of the news rags recently.

Yes, because all the other discussions on this board end with two people having the same opinion...

You've earned it with a thorough lack of respect for other posters. I'm not sure how someone disagreeing with you makes them deserving of an insult. WAIT! WAIT! I get it now ... heretofore this shall be known as "Mourinho mode" ... either you agree with me or you are wrong and therefore insult-worthy.

I've heard this before. Several pundits in Spain have made a similar assertion.

OK. So we know Neymar is going to Barca then? I dont think Barca are that stupid just to hand money over if there is no agreement already in place.

I never said you have to agree, but there is a civilized discussion and then there is your methodology of calling anyone who disagrees a retard.

I was close to adding: Agüero would make more sense the way we play football but that debate is so over I thaught why bother :)

and EoD on my part in regards to Falcao vs Higuain, we're not going to get anywhere and I'd just rather avoid being flamed if I can. Peace out Bro.

I don't know what is known, but the belief by many is that they are in driver's seat and that some money has already changed hands. I don't know that this means that a transfer price of X has been agreed upon. It may mean, if FCB and XYZ offer the same, FCB gets the deal... but there may be other considerations if XYZ blows their offer out of the water.

Again, this is coming from a handful of pundits in Spain. I don't think anyone in Brazil is saying the same. Maybe one of the Brazilian posters can shed some light.

Neymar recently came out with some comments that basically blamed his 3rd party ownership for always starting rumors and that they are all false. He stated his father and himself will be the only ones making the decision and for now he is happy staying at Santos.

I've said this before, but there are tons of rags out there that will run with anything that involves Neymar's name just for the hits it will generate. The sad part is that idiots on forums like this will then look unfavorably on the player because of it. How can he control rumors being spread in papers? And how can he control how many times reporters ask him the same questions about leaving Santos? IMO, he has handled it well.
