God watching that video pisses me the ******** off about Higuain. GEJIGRGROPKJG RIONR SHSD MSIDGMSG SDG********KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK COULD'VE BEEN 6-0
I definitely see that happening. They need a striker besides Torres, and he fits their style to a T. They could have forced the Schurrle deal, but the asking price was absurd for a player of his quality. Falcao, being the best striker in the world, Chelsea wouldn't be reluctant to spend big for him. They would, but I don't think they'd be interested. They wouldn't get much for Dzeko compared to what they'd spend on Falcao, Aguero and Balotelli aren't going anywhere, and it sure seems like Tevez has had a change of heart (for now) and even if they wanted to sell him, with his history I doubt they'd get a whole lot. I think he's going to Chelsea if anywhere in the EPL, otherwise I think he would be a massive upgrade for us over either of our two guys. Higuain would be my preferred choice to sell, but the way Benzema has been playing if we can get a good chunk of change for him and upgrade to Falcao at the same time, I'd be all for it.
I'd be shocked if we were to sign Falcao at any price, his current form coupled with our two guys struggles are causing delusional thoughts for some of you. As soon as he hits one of his "funks" and you see the spectacular misses this guy can unleash in rapid succession order will be restored and we can discuss this a bit more objectively That being said I think Atleti missed out on the opportunity to really cash in the lush-headed Colombian especially with FFP looming, they should've sold him this summer even if they had to peddle him off to Russia. There are a handful of Clubs that *can* afford him but I think you're going to see all Clubs even the ones with money start to reign in spending. PSG, Chelsea City and even Man Utd kinda "stockpiled" talent as a bit of a hedge until we see how FFP plays out IMO, them morons in Catalunya along with us were already deep enough and we probably have a bit more "wiggle" room at least until the current TV deals are up in 2014/15. But we've got that whole gentleman's agreement with Atleti and it looks like Barca are going after Neymar. Arsenal isn't even in the running though they probably could. I guess depending on how their outgoing transfers pan out Liverpool could be a shock contender for him, they have money but they've got to make up for Dalglish's bad dealings.
Damn that is crappy. Rough to watch, seemed like 20 missed chances. Seems we could do a reel like that for every match against them. More Spanish rag fantasy. I guessed they had to have some reason to explain why he didn't drop everything to join Madrid. Couldn't have been because he wanted to leave a legacy at his club; no never that has to be some sort of secret pact, handshake or contract.
Ah yes, you mean like how we all "objectively" talked about how Granero was an integral part of our squad after he transfered to QPR? Or how many people (you included) "objectively" wrote off Essien before he came here because he hadn't been his old self at Chelsea? Or maybe you just mean "objectively" like how many here judge Coentrao and Modric based on their overinflated prices, rather than how they actually perform for us.
No I mean "objectively" like accusing Patrice Evra of making up his claims that Suarez made multiple racist comments towards him despite the fact several people showed proof in the form of the FA's published report that wasn't the case. Am I doing it right?
Touche. Just saying, you can't expect complete objectivity on this forum, especially in a transfer thread. That being said, I did admit that I was wrong about what I was arguing about in that instance, if you recall (I can search for the thread and get my quote, if you'd like). Also, objectively, Falcao is a better striker than what we have. I'm not saying I don't think he'd ever have a cold streak, but he is far more clinical than either of the two #9's we have right now. EDIT: Just would like to say, my argument in that case was based on the thought that it was a misinterpretation, and that my opinion was formed before I had seen the FA's published report (partially based on the fact that I despise Patrice Evra). When I did read it, that is when I admitted my error of thought.
No duh smart guy hence my smilie after my initial reply Just like I have never judged Modric or Blondie solely on their price tag, nor did I "write off" Essien but it's amazing what happens when you take a couple posts in isolation and use it out of context eh? Key point being "right now"...like I said if all things are the same at the end of the season there might be a point to be had. I concede he's the hottest striker in world football atm but if one of Benz and/or Higuain hits a hot streak or any other top class striker for that matter he'll be put on the back burner.
Umm, you absolutely did write off Essien when I suggested that we make a move for him if he came on the cheap (far before the transfer window was even open, for the record). The Granero, Coentrao, and Modric comments were more towards the forum as a whole. Definitely, I realize he's hot right now, but he's hot more often than not. Has been for the past couple of years. And Benz and Higuain have not (yes, I know they have their strings of form). Granted he plays every game while our guys don't and who knows if he could play like he does if he only gets roughly half the starts. But that doesn't change the fact that he's better. Sorry, maam. I wanted to correct you, since what you stated was wrong. I certainly thought you cared, since you brought it up. Apparently you just like to read your own thoughts?
And once we signed him and since then what did I say about him? And I'm pretty sure I never wrote him off but was off the opinion he would be a big risk and there were probably better options out there. But again there goes that couple posts in isolation thing... Lol, I didn't "state" anything. It was a sarcastic response to that was just as "right" as your response to my OP no? A response just as silly as yours, that's all. I really could care less about your justification of that whole stupid episode.
They are not as shit as the forum would suggest they are though. Higuain was staying close to Falcao on the pichichi list last season despite playing a whole lot less than Falcao and so was Benzema actually. If we sign him and sell either Benzema or Higuain, who the "better player" is, will only be one of the factors anyway.
I've watched Falcao play many times and i think folks in general are overrating the hell out of him. He's excellent in the air and is a good player overall but he has deficiencies too. He's the player du jour i guess. Also as somebody else, i think it was mymy who pointed out, a lot of these players look fantastic when the team is built to play around them and they are the big dawg but when they come to Madrid or some other really big club they don't get that same situation.
The only thing you need to do in order to build the team around Falcao is to have him wait for the ball and kick the ball at him from the flanks. Falcao makes Atleti a lot better simply by being a player that's easy to work with. It's all about cost - quality. He's quality, but he would cost super super much, plus being a Jorge Mendes client his wages will be huuuuuuuuuge.
Dzeko with a brace in 13 minutes after coming on as a sub in the 76'. Scored in the 80' and the 90' to win it for City. Fnck all you motherfnckers. I want my boy Dzeko here. Mou has even expressed interest in him a while back.
The wages and price are too high in my opinion. We have two very good strikers already. Falcao is fantastic, but the cost outweighs any logical argument for a signing.
Dzeko is another one of those strikers that really needs a team built around him to be effective. I think that's why he's been so fantastic as a sub towards the end of last season into this one because when he comes on late into games Mancini has moved into full on Yaya Time and Dzeko becomes the focal point of City's attack. But when he starts with any mix of Kun, Tevez or Balotelli it's almost like he's in the way of the Argentine Midget Magic and Balotelli's link-up play is better.
Right now, they are. Like I said I know they can both be good. Just they aren't right now, and when they're playing like they are, criticism and transfer talk about better players is inevitable.
Lol. He plays great with Tevez or Kun. It was actually Kun who made that nice through ball for him to score in the 90th. He doesn't need to be a focal point of any team. He's just a true #9, he's there to make runs, shoot/head to score. When I saw him score that goal in the 90th I immediately thought if that was Benz or Gonzalo they would have probably taken too many touches and get tackled or shoot on the first touch and miss lol.
Obviously. I mean, it's not like anybody knew about him during his Porto days... You could've said the same shit about Cristiano or Messi in their early days, and people still call Neymar that. You call this an argument? He wont be the center of the attack anymore, but he'll play for a much better team, and even without us 'playing around him', he'll have more chances here than there. Besides, he's not someone who even needs his team to 'play around him'. Some of the things that Falcao has done the past years.. it's not just tap-ins and nice statistics like Higuain. It's stuff that at times reaches Ronaldo/Messi-level, and he's been on par with them so far this season. I'd pay 60 million euros for him. Then I'd get rid of Higuain and Kaka. It's a lot of money, but it's not a problem for us.
