If you want Higuain to stay, please don't make a fool out of yourself and Higuain by making 'good memories' your main argument.

It's still very early in the season, but if we get Falcao, it'll also partly be because we're not fully satisfied with Higuain and Benzema. Let's not act like we're just gonna throw them out undeservedly. It's up to them to perform as well, Higuain especially.

I never said anywhere in my post that was the basis for my argument. I simply would be sad to see either of them go as they have had tremendous impact and in my opinion, continue to do so. If anything, both of them are in the range of top 10 strikers in the world right now.

But it's business and if you don't perform someone else is going to take your spot. So I hope they both dial in, in the coming weeks/months.

Yes we need Falcao. The only person on this team who is clinical is Ronaldo. We've all watched Benz the last few years as our #1 and we've seen him miss the easiest of finishes. He's a great link up striker who can pass, hit a nice fancy shot from time to time but he simply can't finish on a consistent basis. As for Higs..too one dimensional..

I'd choose Cavani over Falcao though. Cavani can switch to the flanks no problem when Ronaldo cuts in.

Absolutely, he's the most clinical finisher in the world right now. He would be taking far more chances than Benz and Higuain have been this season. He also provides a far greater aerial threat than either of our two, which adds another element to our attack.

So I heard this guy named Falcao has been pretty hot on everybody's lips recently.

I especially like the idea that Benzema performs huge in the big games while Higuain only does so in the irrelevant ones. Higuain has helped us win two titles. Benzema scored the goal of the year against Ajax and gave away the easy stuff against Barcelona. That's very typical of Benzema really.

If we sign Falcao, both of the are going to be reviewed, and considering Benzema earns a bit more than Higuain, and Benzema hasn't had a renewed contract yet, i wouldn't be so sure that we'll keep Benzema.

Wait folks, if we were to pay the 60ME buyout.. That will bring the total to quite a Ronaldo like number no? Similar to Bayern and Martinez story? Taxes and all that othe stuff?..

I haven't followed Falcao so I can't provide a fair judgement on him, but Higuain has been horrible ever since that back injury of his and does not fit Mourinho's plans but that said he [H20] was good under Pelligrini. Benzema needs to be more clinical and then he'll become a complete forward.

This is just gold. Another fanboy with nothing but the good memories to talk about...

And? It's funny how you seem to think that I'm praising Benzema and criticizing Higuain. I've called them both out on their mistakes, only I feel that Higuain is the worst (or least good). And he is.

Or maybe we'll simply ignore that stuff, look at who's the better player, and kick out Higuain?

This just isn't true. If we sign a new major striker and we are selling a striker it will be Higuain. You're not looking at this the way Florentino would. Since when has Florentino given up on one of his toys especially one which has shown so much promise? He would quell the fans by saying "Here is Falcao/Cavani" and he would justify the sell by saying Benzema has so much more to his game, while Falcao is a better version of Higuain. I think this is very obvious.

This is why one must be careful what they wish for, because us signing a Falcao/Cavani is basically us selling Higuain.

You criticize people who have a bias against Gonzalo, yet you turn around and show your bias against Benzema. :D
Both have stunk it up in big games, both are in bad form, both offer something different to the team, and both helped us win titles (Gonzalo has helped us win more only because he's been here longer).

Makes no difference. Both of them suck donkey balls this year. No preference so far on who I'd keep.

No one player always performs hugely in big games. Even the best have an off day; the same with Benzema. With that being said Benzema has performed and scored enough against great sides, including scoring 5x more goals than Higuain against Barca in his 4 seasons here versus Higuain's 7 seasons here, to earn his reputation of performing in big games. Higuain has not. His failures to have any impact in big games is well documented and as is that of going missing in Champions League matches. 7 goals and 2 assists in 40 matches is an extremely poor record; especially when you weight it against Benzema''s 16 goals and 8 assists in 26 matches. You surely recall Benzema coming on against City and helping the team crawl back.

Anway, speaking off giving away easy stuff against Farca.

Edit: LOL! At 1:17 to 1:30 in to the video; even the Arabic commentator is shocked by Higuain's wastefulness and notes that Falcao would have cherished those chances and says that the Colombian would not have missed them.

Falcao is the next thing after Messi and Ronaldo at the moment. It's pointless to compare him to either Higuain or Benzema, he's better than both of them.

Will Atletico sell him to us even if we were interested? they'll most likely get similar offers from the premier league too.

I'd be interested to see who would pay that much money. Chelsea? Can't really see it happening. They couldn't even force the Schürrle deal. Manchester City would be the only ones, and they would have to get rid of some players in order to be able to do so. If they have to get rid of Dzeko, Mourinho might be interested. He's a hard worker (he actually liked Magath's methods!), and depending on the price he could be a major reinforcement, but his contract would be brutal.

Why not Chelsea? I could see Chelsea being interested, could even include Torres as a swap deal plus ££.

If uncle Flo is interested he will get him i'm sure anyway.

Atleti can't afford Torres. They'd end up losing money. They need money to cover debt. Torres' wages would eat up any sort of money they'd make off Falcao making this pretty much a deal that leaves them with the same debt as before.

    True.

Can still see Chelsea being interested though, I can see them forking out.

If Torres get's injured who do they have? Sturridge? he is good but isn't that good.

If it's for 60 million Euro as Atleti talk about, i don't see it happening at all, but Torres will probably move if there's a possibility of Chelsea buying a new striker, he just costs too much for a substitute.
