So, the start of the 2012-13 MISL season is just 18 days away. Getting close, but still a ways off. But last year, I started this thread a little late, so I just want to make sure I put it out there ahead of time while I'm thinking about it so we can get max participation. As November 2 gets closer, I'll make sure to bump this thread so it doesn't get lost, but like I said, just wanted to get it out there. Same as last year, try your best to pick the winners of all MISL games straight up. I'll post the weekly slate of MISL games in this thread at the beginning of the week, and I'll also keep track of season standings here on a weekly basis. When picking games, just make sure your pick for a pariticular game is posted in this thread before that game kicks off. Otherwise, it will not count. Best of luck to all, and good luck to skipper60601 in particular in defending the title. For those interested, last year's final standings... skipper60601 63-20 josh242 59-25 bbwavefan 58-26 cardshopmd 54-29 FutsalFan 48-22 NSL2004 49-30 FC Concordia 44-21 lmfoust 44-36 MizzouMan22 41-26 IndoorSoccerNews 36-17 spinman 31-20 PepsiAddict 17-21 traremark 6-1 FireFanKeith 2-1
Busy first weekend in the MISL. Five games in Week 1, and Milwaukee is the only team not playing... Week 1: Friday 11/2- Chicago Soul @ Syracuse Silver Knights Friday 11/2- Wichita Wings @ Missouri Comets Saturday 11/3- Rochester Lancers @ Syracuse Silver Knights Saturday 11/3- Chicago Soul @ Baltimore Blast Sunday 11/4- Missouri Comets @ Wichita Wings
I will try the first week just for fun Soul / Wings / Knights / Soul / Wings But I know I will not be consistent enough to remember to do it every week
Let's get these games going. I'm ready for the season to start. Wings & Syracuse have made some serious additions. Both should be stronger. Soul is putting a promising team on the field for year 1. Blast and Comets both look to take a step back from last year. Lancers have been very quite on free agents, don't know if they are bringing everybody back or what. Wave will be younger and more athletic than in the past. But less experience. My preseason standings at the end of the regular season are: 1. Wave 2. Comets 3. Wings 4. Cuse Blast misses the playoffs. Soul finishes 6th And the Lancers have the worst record. Week 1: Friday 11/2- Chicago Soul @ Syracuse Silver Knights - Cuse Friday 11/2- Wichita Wings @ Missouri Comets - Comets Saturday 11/3- Rochester Lancers @ Syracuse Silver Knights - Cuse Saturday 11/3- Chicago Soul @ Baltimore Blast - Blast Sunday 11/4- Missouri Comets @ Wichita Wings - Wings
I'm sure there are permutations that would allow your season ending prediction to come to pass but off the top of my head, none come to mind. The Wave, Comets and Wings play each other more frequently than they play the Blast, Silver Knights or Lancers. Meaning that for all to finish in the top three, the Soul would have to go winless against those three teams and they would have to almost run the table against the East Coast teams. If the Soul finish sixth and the Lancers last, as you predict, it would by definition elevate the Blast, since they play the Soul and the Lancers for a total of nine of their twenty-six games. First weekend predictions: Silver Knights over Soul Comets over Wings Lancers over Silver Knights Blast over Soul Wings over Comets
Oh my Baltimore friend you and I will be disagreeing a lot this year!!! Hope to cross paths with you in Milwaukee and Chicago!! Will be good to see you!! I will be sure to get you a Chicago souvenir to take home and then maybe wear to a Blast hosting Soul game!! Join the other side lol
Incorrect. Comets play the Wave, Soul, Knights, Lancers and Blast all the same amount. 4 games. Comets play the Wings 6 times. Wave play the Soul 6 times.
So, the Comets play the Wave, Soul and Wings a total of fourteen games and play the Blast, Silver Knights and Lancers a total of twelve games, got it.
My picks Knights Wings Knights Blast Comets As for playoffs Wave and Blast will be in it along with Wichita and Syracuse. I domnt think sul; will last more than a year, when was the last time we had a Chicago team that played more than 1 year? the Power?

Six VERY COMPETITIVE seasons: 1988-89 (AISA Runners-up) & 1989-90 The Richardson/Granitza era 1990-91 (NPSL champs) through 1993-94 The Bergstrom/Margetic years a.k.a "The Wilt Effect" 1994-RIP Wolves Hockey, MetroCentre "Home" Dates, The Pavilion... and Edmonton (oh my!)
Let's try to keep this thread limited to predictions or something closely related. Otherwise it's just harder for me to sort through all the clutter when trying to keep track of standings.
