Watched this AM as Mark Webber took the pole at Korea for the F1 GP there. Beating out the verbose little kraut Vettel and Hamilton, as well as the rest of course. David Hobbs, one of the comms, described Vettel as being "Po faced" (pissed off) Po is the old term for a bedpan. Sortta fitted with the look!
Should be a good race. It's on Speed at about 10 pst but I'll watch in the morning, got not footy conflicts.

That will be interesting given how wide open the champioship now is. And with Grosjean 7th on the grid, there will be no shortage of controversy at Turn 1, I shouldn't doubt.

GroJo certainly makes the starts interesting doesn't he? The shortest direction is a straight line....even if it's over the other cars! Turns one and two will gather a lot of carbon fibre shards, I'm sure.

With Hamilton off the join Merc next season and the little Mex kid Perez to MacLaren it'll be interesting.

Do we have a [R] on this thread.

    The po-faced won. :(

The other Aussie, Ricciardo drove from 21st to 9th- not bad. ;)

Great race by the other race by the "other Aussie" as you call him. But Vettel was in a league of his own while Hamilton and McLaren seem rapidly to have gone backwards.

Yeh! There's no doubt that the "Very annoying Little Kraut" is good and has a good car. Trouble is he's still a "Very annoying Little Kraut"
Mark has a habit of being slow off the line but I though he'd cured that, cost him dearly.

Meanwhile Button, while minding his own business, gets Kamikazied as Kobayashi takes out 2 cars with one move. He's losing his ride this year so I guess he just went for it.

Loved the Ferarri pit message to Masa. "Drop back a second and stay behing Alonso!" Meanwhile Massa would do a fast lap just to show that he was faster then drop back again. Looks like he'll keep his contract after all the speculation.

The "Other Ausie" is sortta in the same boat as the other "Scotch" Brit, De Resta. Qualifys well and is always there but really needs a good team to drive for.

Hamiton is either holding back because he'll be with Merc next season our his pit crew is making some bad choices. I liked the green flag he was waving for the last few laps, about 8ft of astroturf hooked on his chassis.

    Not a bad race.

Apparently hamilton's McLaren suffered anti-roll bar failure. Couldn't make it up. It ought to be interesting at McLaren's next year given Button's description of Perez as an idiot.

I didn't know about broken bits but Steve Matchet felt that someting had gone bust.

I think Button was reffering to Kobayashi when he said 'Idiot"

... yes, and Kobayashi is an idiot-- how else can you describe that manoeuvre?

Seems like a natural progression, formula one to poetry. Or Poetry in Motion.

I'm back to Kipling for one I remember and have feelings with from way back.

If England was as England seems
an not the England of my dreams
but only tinsel, gilt and paint.
    I'd chuck her...

    But she aint.

Talking of Rudyard. I used to take the kids for picnics at Rudyard Lake in Staffordshire.

If you ever think your job cant get any worse somedays.....Got a call today from "Kirsten"...."Hi, Im Kirsten.....I'm your new Toronto FC account rep." Silence.

Poor, poor child. I had mercy on her. Said barely a word, told her i personally would renew my seasons becouse i just like watching the footy, wished her luck.

Shes not going to have much, i would say.

I did reply to her cheerfull introductory email with one of my own claiming that just before he was fired, Aaron Winter was going to set me up with free seasons at midfield so I could helpfully scream "one touch motherfcker! One touch" at the players, and could she still action that?

she hasnt got back to me yet. :ROFLMAO:

In June, my 9-month old cat that I rescued from the street was eaten by a coyote. On Wednesday, a friend found a 7-week old kitten that she found abandoned on the side of the freeway and gave her to me. Today I had to put her to sleep due to a bad leg break that she sustained, presumably from the asshole who threw her out of their car onto the shoulder of the freeway.

Sorry to be a downer but I haven't had good cat luck and needed to vent. :(

Bummer, some people suck, don't they.
We live adjacent to a county park here that some folk think of a a repostitory for unwanted cats. They usually end up at our place where my wife has food out. We have 2 right now far too ferrel and skittish to get near, close but they'll stay out of reach. The side effect is the 5 kittens I trapped last year and took to the local shelter. They spayed and neutered them and found homes. Better than coyotes, eagles or great horned owls getting them here.

I can see why you need to vent.
