Everyone keeps talking about us playing a big euro team in February. Either way Feb 6, 2013 is our next game after the Brazil game but I don't see us getting a big team

Teams taken (7 Best euro teams taken) - tho these aren't official per fifa site yet
Feb 6 Italy vs Holland (official per fifa)
Feb 6 France vs Germany (official per fifa)
Feb 6 Spain vs Portugal (not on fifa site I'd love to play Portugal tho)
Feb 6 Brazil vs England (official per fifa)

Teams with no games in Feb. Not exactly big teams but in top 10 euro teams based on FIFA.

    Turkey?
    Denmark ?
    Greece?

Japan, South Korea, Austrillia, Mexico and the US are also free on Feb 6th but are not a Euro teams but are the two biggest teams in each of the other Confederations.

Serbia's not a bad team, decent middle of the pack euro team with very quality defenders. Lets hope Ivanovic doesn't go around breaking our players legs.

We need to start looking at preparations for the World Cup. That means we need to play some European countries, not just Concacaf or South American teams with similar styles. I like getting Cameroon and Serbia, they are representative of the types of teams we will see in the WC and we should be favorites vs them, don't kid yourself Serbia has some pretty good players and worldclass defenders.

The last time Pekerman coached a team versus a team with Serbians the final score was 6-0.
Let's hope that happens again. :p

did you not see the joke of a Cameroon side that we are playing on Tuesday? 2nd stringers at best. I know Serbia is the old Yugoslavia who have quite a bit of futbol history. I don't mind playing them but I'd much rather play stronger Euro sides like Belgium, Holland, France, Russia, Romania, etc. Plenty of sides to choose from.

Well, maybe it is a good thing they are sending us the second stringers. Their starters just got eliminated by Cape Verde in African Nations Cup qualifications today. :p

Second stringers will be hungry to prove themselves before World Cup Qualifiers resume.

I agree I'd like to play the next level up of European teams but I prefer Serbia over all the usual suspects of Mexico, USA, Ecuador, Venezuela. Also we did play Spain this year which was nice, I think seeing a team like that on the field up close probably really helped us, especially since we held our own vs historically one of the best teams of all time.

Also I don't think its necessarily a terrible thing that we aren't playing very good euro sides (Spain is the exception, but they are in another stratosphere to everyone and can't turn them down), our confidence is sky high right now, and we can beat those teams but in a year I think our team will be complete and we will really be able to hand it to teams like the ones you've listed. I think now that we are starting to climb Fifa rankings and our players and team are starting to make noise that is travelling around the world the better teams will come calling, not to mention with Falcao and James so marketable teams will want to play us as it will sell tickets.

I'm baffled why we aren't playing against the Portuguese given the impact our players have had there of late...

Also, I hope that we will stop the talkinh regarding of "preparation for the WC" since we really really have long way to walk until we qualify. and for the million time, Pekerman just showed us in one month how to grab 9 points out of 9 possible without playing one single friendly...

The training camp in Madrid was so crucial. He probably talked to Cholo Simeone about the best way to utilize Falcao and about tactics in general.

Also the 0-0 draw against Atl. Madrid's B team in a scrimmage (which made many people on here cry in nervousness) probably taught Pekerman more about his team than any friendly could have.

It was the Peru and Ecuador game that made everyone freak out but we prob play'd like crap because of the Altitude. I thought it didn't bother our players because of the Bolivia game but you can't compare their roster to Ecuadors.

Again Paraguay was a eliminated team we play'd at home. They bunked and it's awesome we still beat them but a win against Brazil would be huge. We really haven't beaten anyone great yet that is why I want us to play a good team in the feb friendly. We beat Mexico who we always beat. A Uruguay,Paraguay and Chile that are in free fall right now.

Next up in Qualifers. Bolivia at home(I'd be shocked if we didn't win), Venezulea (inconsistent team but has a real shot at qualifying, we should still beat them)......... Argentina away !!!!! We need to be ready for this game. I mean 2 wins against Ven and Bolivia put us at 22 and basically qualified so it's not super important but a win against Argentina could go either way. Make us go all 1994 and think we are world champions, make us very marketable and our players wanted by teams, or we can get spanked and taken back to reality.

Let's not forget, prior to the Uruguay match they were top 5 FIFA team with a streak of 17 + undefeated matches. They are current Copa champions and still have an internationally formed squad of players. Still have 8 matches to play and they are STILL in WC qualification. Don't count them out just yet.

Also, while our confidence is thru the roof, claiming we should win 3 points in Vzla is crazy talk. They are a solid team. Very good group of players who know just how to play against us, especially as visitors. I would not be surprised if we lost in Vzla. Argentina managed to look bad vs Vzla in their loss, so don't think it can't happen to us. Bolivia at home, well that's another story.

Lastly, this is still a long road to the WC and it's inevitable that injuries will happen along the way coupled with some other reasoning why we can't have our starting 11. Look at just how an amazing player like Cabanas(PAR) managed to almost lose it all. Things happen.

and looking back even the 0-1 Quito loss was 'in the cards'. BOTH teams played a boring match but that was probably in Pekerman's playbook, that is until our defensive error that allowed an unmarked player to cross the ball in. I wonder if this is how Carlos Sanchez lost his starting position? Anyhow, looking at how Ecuador has been playing of late (especially at home), is not shocking.

Haha I am the person who does all the wikepedia stuff for the NT but I don't ever add games. It changes all the time. I don't think we'd play Albania. They kind of suck and who we play next changes every week haha

I really need to find out who is doing that and tell them to stop
