We are in the group of death. If we want a straight ticket to the gold cup we will need to finish in 2nd. Otherwise its a tricky one off against the 3rd place Group A team. The tournament will be in Costa Rica and will be January 18th-27th Group B El Salvador Panama Honduras Group A Costa Rica Guatemala Nicaragua Belize
Yeah CONCACAF "draws" can't be more predictable the host will always get the easiest path the other group then gets loaded. Nicaragua and Belize have been grouped with the host since this two group format started in 05
Definitely. I'm really hoping Derby Carrillo Gets a chance to prove himself before Guate decides to call him up. I'd also like to see Maikon Orellana get called up.
I dont see why E.S should have any problems qualifying 2 the Gold Cup. the good thing about being in the group of death is that if they have to play the repechaje then it'll b a much easier team. and if they face guate or c.r in the semi's then those r both weaker teams than panama & honduras. This tournament will b perfect for Fito to regain his starting spot.
I thought once you were called in for official games on the senior team you were cap tied? FIFA's rules on players switching countries is way to confusing Making the gold cup is harder then its ever been now that Nicaragua is no pushover. Nicaragua might finish ahead of Guatemala and I never like our chances against Guatemala however even if we face Nicaragua in a one off its no lock anymore. Nicaragua's U20 team played Costa Rica and Honduras well. Real Esteli has passed several of our clubs and of course Nicaragua has already knocked out Guatemala for the last gold cup spot so they can do it. If Cuate Castillo is our coach for this cup then we shouldn't overlook anyone because he has no idea what he word defense means so anyone could potentially outscore us in a shoot out game
Schedule Honduras vs. El Salvador, 6 p.m ES time El Salvador vs. Panama, 4 p.m. Friday, January 25 Fifth-Place Game Group A third place vs. Group B third place, 3 p.m. Semifinals Group B winner vs. Group A runner-up, 5:30 p.m. Group A winner vs. Group B runner-up, 8 p.m. Sunday, January 27 Third-Place Game Semifinal losers, 2:30 p.m. Championship Semifinal winners, 5 p.m.
New coach (hopefully) and a new pool of players. This is the perfect chance 2 start over and do things the right way.
any nominees for the coaching role? my dream list would be Diego Aguirre, Anibal Ruiz, Rodrigo Kenton, ummm cant think of anymore on top of my head
I still have faith in Jaime Alas( no playing time in Europe did him bad ) but I wouldn't mind giving more playing time to Herbert Sosa to see if he has matured as a player.
I want Ruben Israel to come back to coach E.S and hopefully by then all the garbage people walks away people. People who does alot of damage to the Salvadorian soccer. And i agree with him only with pure oxygen comes and we have a good federation and a group of people that are willing to help our soccer grow. Then we will see an improvement i dont want to see another foreign coach that doesn't know to mess it up but we will see by then what happens.
Getting another foreign coach now and giving him games to work with during the FIFA dates wouldn't be a bad way to go. None of the coaches in El Salvador seem up for international tournaments the best options had the CCL to prove they could handle it and they failed convincingly
It's a broken record at this point about fixing it and Ruben stated he would come back if they cleaned up which isn't going to happen anytime soon but I agree now is the time to bring in a new coach with a much better philosophy. I have never seen a team lower there level of play so much in 3 months it's quite unbelievable. Seeing as yesterday was quite possibly Dagoberto's last game, I think it's time to go back to Benji. Also hopefully we don't see Cheyo, Elder & Pacheco again. At least Dago went out fighting. Edit: In this game most of the attacks where attempted in Jaime's side, a couple in Castillo (I felt Isidro would have worked better) I didn't see anything from our strikers and Osael showing that we really miss Fito & Burgos also not calling Lester as well. Also all that BS talk about Larin & Jaime not being able to work out in a game together and he still put him in while Jaime was playing smh.
el desepmate said their been talks with cobos and birones the physical trainer was in toreon the past fews days so chances are cobos might be back.... only time will tell
Hopefully they don't go back to DLC. South American coaches have done really well with Central American teams lately I would hope they would look to South America again. They have enough time to find someone for the next cycle
I knew it DLC is going to be back and if people recall i was the ones that wanted a return of him soon frankly i think DLC is the best option the guy already knows the soccer in E.S And yeah South americans are also a good option but i would lean more on DLC someone that knows already the league then some unknown guy taking over.
He might know the league but most players from the last quals are gone more or less so he would be starting from scratch. Really it's a matter of making sure FESFUT doesn't start with don't bring x player. I would love to see to see Ernesto Lopez and to make the people happy I guess Corea even with his "family situation".
True you got that right i might wish for the return of DLC but maybe we will have a south american coach some rumors say it might be Argentian or Chilean i see that mostly south american coaches have better luck then the Mexican coaches no disrespect but i guess FESFUT has the last word of rather fire or keep with Castillo till the contract is over. BTW i wouldn't be surprise if the new coach doesn't adapt quickly and decides to leave by the garbage people running our soccer :/
