Damn, that was something. Can't believe how much Debra knows already.

Yeah, I didnt think she would learn the truth that fast but she is a detective so she is suppose to be suspicious. I think this might be the best season since the Trinity Killer.

Yeah. I thought Deb would be in shock more about Dexter and the writers would stretch Deb fitting the pieces together in 3 or 4 episodes. But nope. I like it though. Deb is a detective and it didn't take her long to figure it out. She wasn't able to get around the holes in his story. Now that he's admitted to being a serial killer, how will Deb handle the full reality of the situation? To what extent will Dexter let her know is the question. No time-wasting on this one! Actually, I like this ending better than the cliffhanger at the end of season 6.

    I see two things happening:
    • Louis the forensics analyst intern will end up on the table.
    • LaGuerta finding the blood slide (how she saw it in a grate at an angle under burnt remains is beyond me) is going to be an issue. She isn't going to let that evidence go judging by her reaction that she gave to Matsuka and her friendship with Doakes.
I like where this is going. Dexter has been masking himself as a human. Deb knows and now he is truly free. Little is restricting him to be who he wants to be.

One thing I don't understand about Louis: if he knows about Dexter, wouldn't he exercise a bit more caution? I mean if he knows Dexter is the Ice Truck Killer (or the Bay Harbor Butcher but I don't think he has made that connection), you would think that he wouldn't be as cavalier about his intrigue with Dexter.

And what is LaGuerta doing hiding that evidence?

I am eager to see where that is going. I kind of wonder if he is somehow tied to Dexter or was tied to Bryan. I think he is either a serial killer or one to be and it is probably easy to recognize another of your kind.

If I'm Louis and I know Dexter kills killers, I'd give him a wide berth. Maybe Louis is thinking "Hey, I haven't iced anyone so I am safe." A risky move. If Louis is a serial killer, he should cover his tracks better (Louis is supposed to be smart) and not let Dexter see him coming until it was too late.

Holy sh*t! Season 7 Premiere right here :D

I can only assume that Showtime is doing this for the premiere and no other episode will get this YouTube treatment.

Maybe they felt the pressure to get the show off to a really hot start after the negative reaction to last season? Or that they didn't want to keep us waiting to have Debra find out the truth about Dexter because that's what we all really want to see. I don't mind that they got to it really fast because the whole murder scene should bring up a ton of questions and it should lead to some investigating especially by someone who is a detective.

I heard from someone that in the books, Deb finds out relatively early. Can someone confirm?

Yes, she finds out in the first book when she discovers about his brother. His brother also gets away and returns later.

Not much happened in this episode and if the computer guy is only after Dexter because of his game, I am going to be disappointed. I was hoping that there was going to be more to that story. There seemed to be potential for an interesting storyline there but maybe there still is.

Dexter is going to be ********ing with Titus Pullo. Finally, a worthy adversary.

Missed the last episode. My girlfriend suckered me into redoing the bathroom. Will stream it later online.

I can't make my mind up about Louis.

Louis is more of an annoyance than anything. I like him, don't get me wrong, but I always felt like people overrated his character and potential of it. He's just a little bitch who can't get over Dexter dissing his game. He doesn't seem to know anything about Dexter's past or like people thought he may have gotten info with the Eliot search engine. Just wants to ******** with his life, maybe put him in jail like Henley - but with something worse than Child porn.

    Having said that....

He's not connected to the ITK murders like people hypothesized. Just a weirdo psycho with a crush on Dexter beforehand who only took over a company because of what he did. It seems that the dissing of the game triggered this, yes, but there is obviously something deeply disturbing and interesting about him. his habits, the way he presents himself, his transformation from an awkward geek to a perverted freak. he's an oddity and I'd like to see more of him. Having said that the mob will make sure Louis won't make it to episode 4.

It just seems like a weird plot point and character to introduce if that is all it is. There are enough characters and things going on for having him simply to exist to get pissed at Dexter about his game.

I agree with Raza about Louis, he seems like filler. It seems like the show needs someone in Dexters life who is on his case or at least bothersome be it Doakes (how I miss him), or Quinn and now Louis. But LeGuerta should be able to fulfill that role.

Loved the first episode, second ep was meh.

It seems the writers were of 2 minds with Louis. The ITK souvenirs and sending them to Dexter seems ominous. OTOH, him being a little b*tch about the video game thing is a let down. I agree with Felix, it is odd to introduce a character in this manner but have him deflate like a flan in a cupboard. I guess there needs to be a reason to have him on "Slice of Life" when the mob shows up. Kind of a big deal to write a backstory in that much detail. The other alternative was to go Star Trek red shirt on Louis.

Gotta love this show when they find a way to squeeze a bunch of naked Ukrainian models into both episodes so far this season. :D Something tells me Quinn will be filing for bankruptcy before the end of the season.

What I loved about the episode....and it is starting to get good!

    • Dexter's bloody fantasies! First victim: Woman in the post office. Second victim: Masuka.
    • "This is what my life has become?". That's Dexter's reaction to Louis' gesture. Pretty hilarious moment!
    • Yvonne Strahovski's is gorgeous. I should have watched Chuck more!

I really thought that this episode wont have many Deb scenes because of Hannah but does. I don't know about next episodes but this episode had a lot of Deb scenes.

The briefing scene was so funny, "Is Masuka going to die ?" I knew he wasn't going to die but wanted to see how it will play out.

I really hated Louis but I hated how they dealt with his story line too , I mean he did all of this just for a game ? And the hand and the drawings they didn't explain any of that fully. They did answer a couple of questions about the ITK hand... Well, sorta...I mean Louis did say that he drew the lines on the hand to show him his fate. That in itself is not a strong resolution. The writers have a tendency to do that, leave a loose end blowing in the wind. There really was some great things they could have done with his character last season, but his death was fitting for how they portrayed him this season

And the best scenes in this episode, of course, were how Dexter tried to make Deb give her permission for the kill and her not accepting at all at the start was pretty good , But then at the end of episode i think Deb accepted ( or at least understood) it and by that I mean she accepted Dexter. In that finale scene, Deb realize she is still in love with him, But at the same time she hates herself for that ---that she is in love with a serial killer AND the serial killer is her adopted brother.

I can 100% sure say that Dex is in love with Deb. I chalked the last few episodes of last season as some misplaced love. This whole episode all he wanted was for her to leave him alone and when she did and told him to move out his heart was broken he even said freedom comes with a cost , And that cost is Deb and her company

Louis' blood on Dexter's boat is going to come back and bite him. They made a point to show it. I was really shocked they killed him off. I thought he was going to find out about Dexter's past time and lead to him getting caught.
