Rowdies Rodney Marsh, Steve Wegerle, and Derek Smethurst were among the best players in the world? Your recollection of NASL history is amazing.
Rodney Marsh: Manchester City's star players, scoring 19 goals in 1972-73. but of course you will parse my words just like Kenn..... and Tampa fans who went to watch Cosmos play at home thought they had nobody worth noticing.
Anyone who does what you tell them to do deserves what they get. A PDL team in Brandon with no marketing behind it drew 168 people a game. This is absolutely not cause for celebration. It's also not an indication they should stay there for a pro team. There was more, but Bigsoccer ate it, so I'll just say this: You're still dumb. The NASL had players that, at one time or another, had been among the best players in the world. And they were the best players they could get, at a time when Americans couldn't play. But the reasons the NASL drew 15k a game (and the Rowdies 28k) aren't as simple as "Premier division, best players in the world." You like to boil things down to one - incorrect - assumption. That's why people think you're an idiot.
If you want a Tampa Flames subforum, you need to start a official request thread here and get 10 unique posters willing to post in the new forum.
Official Reaquest to open a Tampa Bay Flames forum in USL Pro, post a reply at that link specifying you will posting in that forum. https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/tampa-bay-flames-in-usl-pro.1975696/
just wondering when did they announce Tampa vs Phoenix franchise? Phoenix already signed first player.
The Tampa USL Pro franchise has yet to be introduced, actually. On November 16, 2011, they announced VSI's overall plan and said a USL Pro franchise was "scheduled to begin play in Tampa in 2013." There has been - to my knowledge - no official announcement since then. So it would be a bit premature to be announcing player signings, don't you think?* *This presumes you think at all, which we all understand doesn't happen.
Tampa (Bay, apparently)'s website is a bit better than FCNY's was. Also, Phoenix was officially announced July 2. The Cosmos joining the NASL was announced 10 days later. So, by my count, the Cosmos have until a week from Monday to sign their first player, else they risk falling behind on WSW's Schedule Of Things That Matter.
I applaud your attempts to educate these mouth breathers how the real world operates, but it surely must be obvious that it is pointless. I ignored both these morons here on the forum, but it is very clear that they have ran off any rational thinkers. This and the NASL forum are dead as a doornail. Hard to have an exchange of ideas with their garbage being spammed all over the place. Makes normal folks not even bother. Does this make you second guess being involved in higher education? Society is being overrun with the idiotic.
I've read their comments over and over to try and understand what's going on....now I have a headache.
Let me address this directly. Whitestar has been warned multiple times. His next reported violation will result in a ban from the forums. As for others who are equally guilty, either for spamming content/trolling or feeding trolls, they are all on warning and they may also be banned. Consider this your final warning. We appreciate all posters and their willingness to post content. But mindless drivel and inane comments that provide no meaningful dialogue are no longer tolerated on either the NASL or USL forums.
I'm not going to post anymore on USL forums, I'm not going to agree with everybody so I don't get banned.
And....again, you don't get it. It's not that you disagree. It's that you bring no facts, no nuance, no common sense and no value to the discussions.
Looks like the Flames are hiring for the Pro and other teams: http://www.vsi-flames.com/index.php/leagues/item/153-job-opportunities Hopefully there will be an an announcement soon on the stadium situation (I know we all speculate USF), tickets, etc. Steve
Do you have any information to back that statement? Previous statements from people close to the organization and speculation placed Corbett as the likely venue. If not USF then where? A high school? UT? We know they plan on building a stadium in the Tampa area, but that is a few years off. Steve
UT is a possibility as is USF but they have another option that is the preferred choice. It is not a high school and I was told in confidence so I'm not a liberty to say what it is.
Aww, no fair! Well, I cannot think of many other places unless they are planning on using a public park or adding some amenities to the JC Handly complex. Steve
No JC Handly was a one year deal for the PDL team. If the preferred option works out it will be a big surprise. It is close to being done but until the deal is signed I can't say anything.
No, I don't need to try to be cool as I already have that taken care of. If i were trying to be mysterious I would say that you (Ken) have met me before several times. Last, when i'm told something in confidence I don't repeat it.
