I just want to remind everybody that Strootman is just the flavor of the month. Before the summer, nobody here had heard or talked about him on this forum. Thanks. :)

Johno and Benni, why do you guys personally like Strootman? If he were to come to Manchester United, what role and who do you see him replacing?

Next to Carrick, behind Kagawa or Rooney.

I like him because he's tough, he gets about and puts in work/tackles as well as makes interceptions. He can also pass the ball very well. he has very good vision. He has a solid left foot. He seems like the perfect partner to Carrick. He was an attacking midfielder initially, but he's been moved deeper since moving to PSV. Adjusted well.

In short, he's a "footballer"* and he has bite.

*when I say footballer, these are players you have no questions about their technical ability/touch or their football IQ. Its just obvious.

Thanks for the summary. It's clear that some of you guys rate him highly and he could be the perfect player to compliment Carrick as well as the team. However knowing SAF, I don't see us showing any interest at all sadly. SAF would rather gamble on Fletcher. I might watch a few youtube videos on him.

I know you are joking but he is hardly the flavor of the month anymore.

He was one of the most exciting young mids in Europe about 18 months back but he has been in a prolonged slump for some time, and the opinion of PSV fans about him has gone down a lot.

    Would be 40M well spent.

Isco will be the January target for all the big clubs, with Malaga saying that they will sell him for 21M euros.

We were linked to him recently. Didn't see the article, just read the headline - might have been rehashed quotes but updated and reworked.

If Anzhi put up 50 million, I'd sell him right now, and start building the team around someone else...maybe Nani?
