1-2 isn't a reason to jump. We'll be in the mix until we aint in the mix mathematically. Check on my health when we do what we did in 200, going 6-2 only to crash and burn the second half of the season.
The "LOL" I added was purely at the idea that the Patriots could be pre-ordained to win the AFC East, looking back now. It's not a lock now, I don't think, but that's just me. I think this year thus far is shaping up to be like no other in recent memory. I think we could be seeing the beginning of a paradigm shift away from the traditional top teams of the 2000s. Where it goes, we'll see.
Hey, that Gilligan cat can run. Don't know about his hand skills, though. Maybe they can put Tebow in his place.
well he was constantly having to try to get away from that Skipper guy who was kinda sweet on him. he never had a chance to hone his hand skills.
the replacement refs sure are making the NFL interesting so far this season. really slowing the game down. even when they get the call right, it takes forever. giving people lots of opportunity to learn all the rules. we are all learning right along with the refs. of course, I don't think it's supposed to work that way. they should already know the rules. what are your thoughts on the replacement refs? is it making the game less enjoyable? is it completely ruining the game for you? have you stopped watching the NFL because of it? will you in the future? seems like the NFL isn't going to budge as long as it's not effecting viewership - i.e. $$$.
I fell asleep and woke up in time to watch the Seattle drive. Please tell me this is a dream. As a soccer referee I am hearten that we are no longer the only officials that make egregious errors. Hopefully this will be the straw that broke the camels back. The error that impacts the credibility of the game and forces Goddell to resolve the labor issue with the real referees.
More like Touchback! I love that the official who's view is blocked is the one that signals touchdown. Just amazing.
Maximum possible error... and its not like the game had been well officiated up to then. I'm feeling like my comment about the pass interference calls jinxed them or something-- seems like there hasn't been a good one since. If I understand the labor issue correctly, the NFL wants to redifine its pension responsibilities with regards to the officials. That is, the league is not resisting giving something more to the officials, it is trying to take something back, and the something is not even salary or working conditions, but pensions. Which is pretty much like changing the rules after the game has started. It strikes me that a willingness to accept this kind of maneuver might not be characteristic of the ideal personality for a good official...
Seahawks finally got the benefit. The officials were bad the whole game and it could be argued the Packers wouldn't even have scored without a questionable pass interference. The only was this could have been better is is it would have been the Steelers in Seattle last night!
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8...l-end-game-green-bay-packers-seattle-seahawks apparently all of us are retarded, or at least good 'ole goody thinks that.
Well, there was also that ridiculous defensive pass interference call with about 5:00 to play which turned a 3rd and 30 into a first-down for Seattle. Without that outrageous call, the Seahawks likely wouldn't have been in a position to make a 25-yard pass on the final play.
I've heard of teams winning a game on an interception, but usually it's a pick six the other way. this is the first time I've seen a team win a game on an interception they threw. this is what is known as a traveshamockery. Goodell has brought a multi billion dollar industry into disrepute over a few million dollars. he deserves to be fired. will people stop going to the game or stop watching? probably not. but then again, people also go to and watch pro wrestling, and they go to comedy clubs. are those the models the NFL wants to follow?
when I posted this yesterday evening, I had no idea just how timely it would prove to be. if this keeps up, people who have never watched football are going to be tuning in the same way they wold tune in to pro-wrestling or an entertainment show - or a freak show. not to see a good football game, but to see what freak thing happens next.
