TIME FOR A NEW OBAMA FAILURE THREAD Continued from here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/obama-failure-thread-part-iv.1825068/
This is the most offensive Obama image you could find on as vast and uncharted a place as the Internet? Sounds like you're getting rusty.
Disclaimer: Most of the information posted on the previous 4 threads have consisted of myth debunking, economic teaching, fact checking and mocking of different incarnations of right wing posters trying to preach "undeniable truths" learned in Fox News and the Heritage Foundation's website to more educated posters. If said right wing posters bothered to check their facts with different sources or just read a few pages back, this thread would probably still be in its first volume.
Yoshou The penalty does not apply to me. I don't have anywhere close to enough employees. I choose between staying the way it is with more options for the employees, or providing insurance with a tax break.
*laugh* You have Geico? Oh god.. I'm so sorry. Since you are such a perfect driver, I really, really hope you don't get hit by an underinsured driver, because, if you are, you're screwed.
I highly recommend asking a friend who is a plaintiff's lawyer before getting insurance anywhere. Geico is far from good, but nobody should let anyone they know be insured by Allstate.
Ahhh. Okay. So drop the fine out of the equation. Your employees will still need to be compensated at a higher rate to offset for the portion of their income they will be losing to pay for the portion of health insurance that the mandate requires that your competitors' pay for their employees. God.. I hope you understand that, cause I think I just confused myself.
Yep. Essentially it makes the system a wash. But, I still think that it will make some employees available who aren't right now. Part of my reasoning is that I know many of them want to work for me for other reasons like office atmosphere, flexibility, informality, and so on.
Don't the tax breaks get larger the smaller your company is? I'm not 100% sure on that, but if your company is small enough that the fines don't hit you, if the tax breaks don't improve, and you are already increasing other forms of compensation to account for larger companies providing health insurance then, perhaps?
Undoubtedly the creativity points are there (plus the jet bombing the capitol) but there wasn't anything that would get you banned from a David Duke rally for extremism. Tsk tsk
Good thing the old thread was closed. Rodney King was looking down from heaven and said, man, now THAT is a beatdown.
Yeah, but it depends somewhat on the average income of the employees. If it's under 50k, it's greater. I'm not actually sure whether we'll qualify for that...but we'd probably play with the numbers a bit to do so.
Oh, and about states opting out of medicaid expansion...I'll believe it when I see it. Any governor that's able to maintain that after a full election cycle of hospitals and doctors getting screwed is gonna be a miracle worker. Schapes please note that it's easy to voice the threat and score cheap'n'easy political points when your stupid decision isn't costing your hospitals millions of dollars every year.
Yeah. I just found this: http://www.healthcare.gov/news/fact...ce-and-saving-money-for-small-businesses.html It looks like if you have under 25 employees with under an average salary of $50k you can get a 50% tax break as long as you pay 50% of your employees health insurance. If you don't meet that, you do still qualify to participate in the insurance exchanges, which should give you the buying power of a larger company and reduce health insurance costs that way.
This. Politicians, even those to the right of Genghis Kahn, just don't refuse federal government funds, especially with something like healthcare.
Nor should they, if Washington is going to issue funded mandates then local representatives have an obligation to seek that Federal funding for their constituents. Why is that such a difficult concept to grasp? File under stupid liberal talking points.
Well - anyone that just voices that threat and doesn't follow through, will be no different than President Obama's empty promises then. President Obama promised to halve the deficit before his first term. He promised to pass a Dream Act. He promised unemployment wouldn't go above eight percent if the stimulus was passed. He promised to be the most transparent President ( Fast and Furious). Hopefully they will follow through on what they have said.
You mean empty like Romney creating "Obamacare" and then hating on it when the Dems use it or Ryan hating on the stimulus and then begging for stimulus money? That kind of empty?
