One neon-orange, one vertical stripes of Purple and Teal, and one black. Though they'd call the colors "Extacy Orange", "Tower and Power", and "Midnight Blue"....because no one in Seattle has ever seen a box of crayons
The color has been used on a kit for LA, has it not ? Perhaps the individual that submitted it would like to see it on the pitch as opposed to just on the GK. Perhaps many of the people that bothered to vote did as well ?
But wasn't that color one of the standard keeper colors for that year? It wasn't just an LA thing, IIRC.
LA is trying to be the Madrid of SoCal. White home, who-gives-a-shit away and third. And I, personally, think it works
It is certainly a possibility. Neon orange and pink are the only two colors left in the hi-liter pack:
But is that an LA thing, or a Beckham thing? The jersey colors didn't change from yellow & green to blue & yellow until he arrived. Same with the team crest/logo. I remember reading that Beckham's PR team requested and required the switch, but I don't know how true that is.
gonna post what i posted on the RPB forum: READ THIS PART FIRST. here's a rundown of where everyone stands in terms of kits for NEXT SEASON based off of the 2 year rule. please note that everything that reads "no change" technically means that these teams will have a new kit for the 14/15 season. im also working under the assumption that each team with a third kit will also be following the 2 year rule if they do end up changing their kit (unless otherwise noted). nothing here is mentioned about teams that had a third kit for the 11/12 season but didn't for the 12/13 season, so we may very well see a few of those without prior notice. we also might see a team switch up a third kit a year after releasing it, so the third kit category should be seen as a toss up. also note, i'm going to be counting shorts variations (NYRB/PT) as a single kit and not a new one (ie: portland switching from green to white shorts does not count as a new kit). HOME AWAY THIRD CHICAGO no change no change CHIVAS no change new kit COLORADO new kit new kit COLUMBUS no change no change DC no change no change new kit DALLAS no change no change HOUSTON new kit new kit no change LA no change new kit new kit MONTREAL no change no change NEW ENGLAND no change no change NEW YORK no change no change new kit * PHILADELPHIA no change no change new kit PORTLAND new kit ** new kit no change SALT LAKE no change no change SEATTLE new kit new kit *** KANSAS new kit new kit TORONTO new kit no change VANCOUVER new kit new kit no change * team had a third kit with a variation on shorts ** team had a home kit with a variation on shorts *** team has changed kit twice over the course of 2 years
Salt Lake had a 3rd kit (yellow) introduced last year. Their team store manager/kit specialist told me at the beginning of the season that they would be getting another 3rd kit next year (2013 season). He indicated it more than likely won't be yellow again. Could be blue, but I'm hoping for something different. Purple was used in RSL's first year. I've been requesting a purple kit for years, but don't see it happening.
Rumor is KC's primary will change, but they'll keep the secondary one more year to get them on separate cycles. Rumor also is that KC will have a third jersey.
Seattle's third kit is off year from the primary and secondary, so if I'm understanding your post it should be: SEATTLE --- new kit --- new kit --- no change
Mao is a good source. Under each team name is a link to each known kit for 2013. Many are yet to be filled in. http://maofootball.wordpress.com/2013-mls-kits/
absolutely correct, i got their third and their away mixed up. since they changed the away after only one season (2010 was blue / 2011 was black).
But the Blue is gone and it's Green Primary and Grey Secondary for this rotation. So those both will new in '13. Going to look good!
I'm not sure what about Seattle's history with jerseys gives you the impression that the 2013 models will look good....
Or just plain blind. The two 3rd kits they've had so far were mind numbing. Also, is the Super Cyan name supposed to be a Dragonball Z reference (Super Saiyan)? I've wondered that since they introduced it.
Super Cyan is the adidas color name for that Blue the Sounders picked. I had the same question myself, so I asked.
I know that cyan is the color blue they used. I just found it funny that they would name it Super Cyan, because phonetically it sounds the same as the Dragonball Z Super Saiyan stuff. I was just wondering if they did it tongue in cheek, or if the designer is a Dragonball fan that snuck it in because SSFC had already used ridiculous color names in the past. Edit: I reread your post and missed the "Adidas color name" part on the first go. I thought the SSFC FO named their colors?
It should be noted that when the Sounders first put up the new third kit design sheet they said the pronunciation was "SAY-an"
