Yes yes, the season has just started, but the rumors are still flowing. This is the place to discuss the transfer market leading up to January's window.
Ogbonna & Llorente on Juve radar I'd actually be ok with both of them. Especially since Llorente would be free at this point.
Oh dam I thought this was a game of thrones discussion. I'm beginning to thing Marotta only knows how to buy ready tested squad players for under 20 million dollars. Partici prob tells him what kids to buy
Would Llorente hold out for Juve, though? If he could be had on a free, he might want to stay in Spain, and he could receive similar, if not better, money from teams in Madrid. Also, I know that everyone's crucifying Marotta (and it's fair), but he probably figures that he can get him on a free, and can save the 30 million for other areas, and he's hedging his bets that way.
IU guys are some transfer window whores ha? Lol how bout we discuss the team and league. Whats the point of arguing over baseless rumors? You know 99% arent true and the fact that people even argue it or use it as a "fact" in later conversations just doesnt make sense.
Lol ya reminds me of americans who go to superbowl parties just to drink and eat but not really watch the game
I know, right? It's almost like people who go onto those same boards and start threads about who is and isn't "world class"...
Of course. Because I obviously care who is and who isn't "world class". I want to see my team do well, regardless of the transfer fee, and I don't debate whether or not a guy is worth something because of what he does or doesn't do for his national side because it's completely irrelevant to what he does for his club. Kinda like how Cavani and Milito are absolute shit, despite the fact that they've been top goalscorers in our league for a while now, and they won't do anything for our club because they're so shit. No, let's not make any attempt to make our team better. Let's just stand pat, and assume that everything will be OK because it worked for one season, and no one is willing to admit how lucky we got when Milan pissed the Scudetto away. We won what we needed to win down the stretch, but it wouldn't have mattered had Milan not choked it away. We wouldn't be talking about the supposed great squad we have now if Milan doesn't choke. We'd be screaming for top players at all positions because we came thisclose to winning a title, and failed to do it. Conte wouldn't be labeled as a hero. Marotta wouldn't be receiving plaudits from half the people here. He'd be getting barbecued for not improving the squad to make sure we could win the Scudetto this time around. I'm not blinded by what we did last year. That's why I keep saying, "Did we win the title going away, or do we still need to get the best players that are out there, regardless of price." Could you imagine if Pirlo gets hurt for an extended time, and they have to change things in the attack, and we have to rely on players who last year weren't reliable to begin with? I shudder to think about that, but the truth is that we MIGHT be good enough to win the title again. I want to be SURE that not only will we win the title, but we'll do it with 5 games left to go, while we make a deep Champions League run, (y'know, like the good old days) and that is where I think the transfer market failed us. So, yeah, keep talking about who is "world class", and keep up with the "who is?" bullshit. If this teams fails to win the Scudetto this year, you'll be first in line to verbally beat the shit out Marotta.
I want the top players at Juve and I want the Champions League bad. I get the who cares about how much a player cost, at least until the club has to sell everyone and buy nobody so they don't go bankrupt like Milan. Also, last season we played Milan 4 times. I think we came out in better shape and they had 4-5 so called 30-40m players.
I want the team to be better too. But I don't believe that throwing away millions makes a difference if that player is not as good as the media or some around here hype him to be. We were suppose to be all that when we acquired Melo and Diego. Where did that get us? And how a player performs at the national team level means something. It could mean that he fits well into a set up with his club but that may not translate elsewhere. Toto DiNatale is a perfect example. So get pissed off all you want when I ask "Who is Cavani?" but the truth is that while he has scored in bunches for Napoli in Serie A, he has yet to prove himself at the world or European stage. So yes, we should think twice about making Napoli rich for a player that is not world class.
I recall you said this same thing last transfer window yet you are still find your way back to this thread. If you really detest the thread just don't enter. Although I predict you participate in it in some capacitiy. Anyways, Victor Andrade a 16 year old forward from Santos being tracked by Juventus.
ya i did say it last year. i only participate cuz its prob the only thread thats active but i really dont get into the discussion, i just stated my point and that was it. u wont see me arguing about stuff like that til it gets closer to december. talking about transfer season right now makes no sense cuz we have only played 2 games, i wanna see us play 10+ games and actually give everyone a run to see how we really are before making adjustments.
To add to this, many of the Italians named as "world class" defenders did very well with La Nazionale.
Huntelaar links re-emerging. I would welcome Huntelaar here. I dont think he got a fair chance at Milan. Would tear it up for us.
