Viggo Mortensen, a self confessed madridista...but he appears to be a genuine football fan. A Marca interview where he discusses the supercopa,FCB and Messi & Crissy. http://www.marca.com/videosmarca/?v=SOdwqelSE8q A great quote:
Look at Benzema and that other Real player at the bottom of the picture. They're much farther away from the ball than CRY is and they're still actually running back and working hard for the team. Yeah, and that's how you win Ballon d'Ors and other awards, not by standing there like an idiot.
btw is that photo shopped or is that a snapshot from the actual game?? I dont doubt that he fusses and bitches when something doesnt go his way during the game. Especially the famous pouty, hands on hip stance
Viggo is actually a diehard CASL(San Lorenzo) fan. A few months back, security at an airport told him to cool it down because he was screaming and yelling while watching them play in a crucial game on his computer. Viggo even streams.
Actual freeze frame, no tinkering. I'm sure many more exist from past games, and many more will be made available in future games.
One of the greatest goals ever? Jakob Kohler, goalkeeper for Danish 2nd Division club Boldklubben Frem, decides to head upfield for a last-minute corner with his team down 1-0...
Looks like the campaign to make Ronaldo feel "loved" is in full gear. All you have to do is look at the headlines on marca or AS . "Cristiano y Real Madrid, no hay mejor binomio. Es un auténtico placer ver jugar a Cristiano en el Bernabeu y para él -por el luso- es un auténtico lujazo vestir la camiseta del Real Madrid"" -- Casillas "El Bernabeu aplaudira mas que antes a Cristiano" -- Arbeloa "Me gustaria que el Balon de Oro lo ganase Cristiano" -- Alonso And he hasn't even said what the Hell was wrong ... all he does is say what it isn't. How cute ...
So, I was just catching up with the African Cup of Nations qualification. I knew that Senegal and the Ivory Coast were playing off, but I didn't realize that all the spots in the tournament (except for the host - South Africa) are determined by a two-leg playoff tie. That is a crazy system! The teams are divided in two pots based on past performance, but otherwise it is luck of the draw and you get a situation like this where two of the most talented teams have to square off. Maybe this is the qualification system just for this year since they are shifting the schedule to odd years? Anyway, Ivory Coast won the first leg 4-2 at home. More relevant to this board, Cameroon (Song's team, which does not include Eto'o anymore) lost away to Cape Verde Island 2-0. This is a country of .5 million according to wikipedia. Cameroon can turn that scoreline around at home I'm sure, but it will be far from a sure thing. Also, I guess I was sort of not thinking about football this summer so I just put two and two together and realized that Song may have been brought here in part because there is a strong Cameroon legacy with Eto'o and various youth players at La Masia brought in by Eto'o's foundation. I am sure Dongou et al. will benefit from Song's presence and vice versa.
Also, the situation in CONMEBOL got much more interesting with Colombia beating up on Chile and Uruguay and Peru pulling out a shock draw with Argentina (I watched this game and Argentina did not look that good). Colombia went from the outside looking in to near the top of the table. A couple of teams are in danger of dropping off altogether unless they pick up some wins soon - Bolivia, Paraguay, maybe Peru - but otherwise it is very competitive. watching the Sevillas v. LPB game.... is it just me or does Maduro look like Fat Albert on Weight Watchers?
Getting back from my game, nice to see we won 4 x 1 and Madrid are losing with 20 to go. Was funny to see Ramos point blank header miss.
