Is this the best place for this? Not sure, but figured I'd start one here. There is already a "Yanks on Foreign YNTs" thread in the YNT forum, so maybe this fits better elsewhere. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions.

Seems like there should be a catchall thread for Americans who play for foreign teams but may not also be YAs for club purposes...

The Philippine team has never been shy about suiting up Yanks, but two recently announced players seem like good catches: Demetrius Omphroy and Matthew Uy.

    http://manilastandardtoday.com/2012/08/29/2-booters-join-azkals/

Omphroy, who has been mentioned in the YA forum in the past by way of a youth stint in Portugal, appears to be a without a club after leaving Toronto FC. He's also apparently played Panamania YNTs as well as ours.

Uy, for his part, has a long U.S. YNT history.

They actually have quite a few guys.
Lexton Moy, Jason Sabio, OJ Porteria, Josh Boone, Anton del Rosario, Joshua Beloya and Nate Burkey.

OJ Porteria was a member of the US U-18 a few years ago.

Am I missing something? Are you talking about Yanks who are eligible for and indeed play for other NTs? If so, the obvious and noteworthy cases are Giuseppe Rossi for Italy, Neven Subotic for Serbia, Steven Purdy for El Salvador, Wil Johnson for Canada, Brede Hangeland for Norway.

Bong is a popular men's nickname in the Philippines.

But reading it all together does sound funny :p

    Tweet from the SoccerInsider:

Hearing Portland Timbers' Bright Dike (U.S. born) called up by Nigeria for Wednesday friendly vs Venezuela in Miami

Another US-based friendly. Honduras-Peru are playing in Houston as well.

According to this article, the Philippines came to California in 2011 for a tryout camp for the NT:

It's mentioned elsewhere, but Aly Borromeo is the Filipino team captain.

Yes. They were supposed to have another one in Virginia but it didn't materialize.

The US has the largest concentration of Filipinos outside of the Philippines so its NT is bound to have quite a few Americans.

This article from last week says former MLS and YNT player Fuad Ibrahim has been called up by Ethiopia along with another player based in the States, a guy named Abraham Girmay.

    http://www.mtnfootball.com/africa/a...ethiopia-call-up-second-usa-based-player.html

Here's an article calling this squad a "shadow" team -- in essence, a second squad.

    http://www.capitalethiopia.com/inde...ethiopia-in-cecafa-&catid=42:sports&Itemid=41

It also says Girmay plays for a college here. Can't find anything about him.

Former U.S. Under-17 & U-20 forward Fuad Ibrahim (most recently w/NASL Minnesota) has been named to Ethiopia's African Cup of Nations Squad

Since he played for the US squad in 2007 U17 WC, I would assume he has filed his one time switch.

Portland Timbers' Bright Dike not in Nigeria's team for Africa Cup of Nations (via@ColinUdoh). Still, impressive improvement in last year.

This is what I could come up with after a quick search:

    Alvarez, Arturo El Salvador
    Beloya, Joshua Philippines
    Beresford, Brandon Guyana
    Boone, Josh Philippines
    Borromeo, Aly Philippines
    Burkey, Nate Philippines
Carrillo, Derby El Salvador (training camp)
    Ceus, Steward Haiti
    Dike, Bright Nigeria
Glinton, Duane Turks and Caicos Islands
Glinton, Gavin Turks and Caicos Islands
    Hangeland, Brede Norway
    Ibrahim, Fuad Ethiopia
    Jarun, Omar Palestine
    Jimenez, Ernesto Dominican Republic
    Johannsson, Aron Iceland (youth)
    Johnson, Wil Canada
Mayen, Gerson El Salvador (training camp)
    Millington, Nick Guyana
    Moy, Lexton Philippines
    Nimo, Alex Liberia
    Nusum, John Barry Bermuda
    Omphroy, Demetrius Philippines
    Porteria, OJ Philippines
    Purdy, Steve El Salvador
    Randolph, Darren Ireland
    Rodrigues, JP Guyana
    del Rosario, Anton Philippines
    Rossi, Giuseppe Italy
    Sabio, Jason Philippines
    Smeltz, Shane New Zealand
    Subotic, Neven Serbia
    Toure, Ansu Liberia
    Uy, Matthew Philippines

I discounted players from Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the NMI and the USVI since everyone those teams dress would qualify for the USNT anyways. I know there are two Argentinian brothers and some Japanese youth players with American ties, but I can't remember their names.

Is Rodney Wallace technically a Yank? I thought he hadn't gotten his citizenship yet.
