For anyone wondering how this game is played, check out these brief and uncomplicated explanations that I copied from one of my previous threads. What is the Sheep game? It's pretty simple and will only take 2-3 minutes of your time every week. Every week I'll post 15 questions, and all you have to do is PM me the answers within a few days. However, the catch is that there aren't necessarily any right or wrong answers, the idea is to try to guess what the most popular answer would be. For example, if the question is "best city in Ohio?" you might be tempted to answer Dayton or Sandusky or wherever you live, but you'll get more points if you say Columbus, because that's what most people will probably answer. Thus, it's called the Sheep Game. You'll score points based on the number of people who answer the same as you do. Scoring: The weekly winner will get the same number of points as the number of players each week. For example, if 15 people play in one week, the winner would get 15 points, second place would get 14 points, and last place would get 1 point. But if more people join in the next week and 20 people play, then the winner for the second week would get 20 points. The winner each week will also get 5 bonus points. Playing: In general, I'll try to post the questions on Tuesday or Wednesday each week, and then give everyone about 48 hours to get their answers in. Don't post your answers in this thread (or any other thread on the board)! PM them to me instead.
So here's scoop: Questions will be posted tomorrow. This week will be a special 1-week pre-season/post-season. Why a post-season? Because at the end of Sheep league VI, there were promotion fights in Division Two and Three that never got settled. So for those 8 people (in the light green below) this week's questions will "count". The winner from each group of 4 will be promoted. For everyone else, this is your pre-season friendly. It's been a while, and frankly, I need the practice too. We'll see if there are any limits or bugs with bigsoccer's "conversation" function. (Or whatever the heck they call it.)
You're such a liar! We all know that on average we spend most Tuesday waiting for questions; then we wear out the F5 key all Friday afternoon going through answers. That's at least 3-4 hours every week.
Add in the time researching National Parks and the differences between steak and filet mignon and it's easily more than that.
A few minutes a week is BS. I've had to rearrange my work schedules on Fridays so that I can wear out my F5 key.
Okay, let's try this. I apologize in advance if there are any problems with the new bigsoccer PM format. Anyone can play, it doesn't matter if you have before or not. Just PM your answers to me. Crew Sheep League Week Zero Questions 1. Will the Crew win MLS Cup this year? 2. Who will be named 2012 MLS league MVP? 3. Fill in the blank: In like _______ 4. What color will the Crew's third jerseys be next year? 5. Will Warzycha be the Crew coach on March 1, 2014? 6. Who will be the Crew's leading scorer in 2012? 7. A state that borders Ohio 8. Name a famous landmark in Europe 9. Do you like National Parks? 10. Name the most recent movie you saw in a theater Remember, DO NOT post any answers in this thread.
Speaking of which....... how the hell do you send a PM now? Do you click "Start a Conversation" or is that something else?
With 10 questions instead of 15, does this feel like an indoor sheep game? Kind of same as the outdoor game but on a smaller pitch and with some variances. I hope my sheep didn't choke on the fake stuff. I had to sit down a couple of lambs because their tender legs may not be well suited for this environment.
Cleaze; for the record, I just attempted to put in my answers, so let me know if they don't go through please.
FAO Cleazer, is there a format of response that would make your life easier in collating the data? For example, I put the question and then the answer, numbered, but if you just want a straight list of answers then let me know (numbered or not)
You press F5 continuously in your browser to refresh the page to see if the results have been posted yet. You could probably set up some kind of notification thingie in the new board software to tell you when a new post is up, but that would take all the fun out of it
