I have nothing against either Cappa or Gallego but in River today our DT is Almeyda. He has been tecnico for one tournament and four games. We won the tournament and have 7 points from four games in the second.Ok we havent played like the great River teams but have you guys been in a state of hallucination for the previous seven years. We need some stability and some reality.A top five finish will be acceptable in the inicial.Have a look at Bocas squad 14 full internationals and have a look at ours. Then have a look at Racing,Indepndiente,Newells and the Pinchas planteles and look at the experience they have.Passarella is right build slowly on solid foundations not coming off in your pants with instant success.Velez have shown the sense of this time and time again.River if we have patience will be the giant of South America in five years. If the impatient ones win out it will be the B again. We are building a team on a fantastic group of kids with an inexperienced DT who is a true idol of the club not like that mediocrity in Rayo.

Boca has 14 full internationals? What are you talking about? There is only one boca player who has been called up by Sabella and that clemente. Who are the other 13?

And you always act like being "impatient" is some crime! River should be trying to win this tournament, not settling for anything less. When you set your goals high, and you fail you still end up getting close. When you set your goals low, and you fail, you end up going down. Thats what happened to JJ Lopez in 2011 and we went down. He said he wasn't thinking about the title, only avoiding going down... He was content to try and play for the tie always and use 5 defenders and two 5's and we went down because of it.

This tournament River has a squad that is just as good as anyone else's with just a few weaknesses. The current leader is Colon, do you really think Colon has a better squad than River? Other than Moreno and Fabienesi do they have anyone of real quality? Sure they have some good young kids, but so does River... Then you talking about Indpendiente? A team unable to score a single goal so far, and Racing? Do you really fear Racing with Sand as their figura? The kid Centurion is a crack, but he's no better than Lanzini or Keko or Cazares. The problem is we aren't getting the most out of our kids because the DT plays them out of position. Ramiro Funes Mori will never be a 3... Neither Lanzini nor Cazares will ever be a carrilero on the left.

Hopefully this week Almeyda will bring Rojas in on the left to give defensive cover, and Lanzini can move to the middle and play his natural game. I think River will truly explode and then maybe bring in Keko or Mora for Trezeguet in the 2nd half and we can really threaten with our speed

Almeyda tried a new line-up today with Cazares, Pezzella, and Ledesma in the firs XI.

    http://www.ole.com.ar/river-plate/futbol/volantazo-Pelado_0_766123624.html

I'm still not a fan of the 4-4-2... but I think its good to see Pezzella finally given a shot in primera division, he's far better than gonzalez pirez and probably maidana as well. I really like this kid.

Cazares' inclusion is exciting, but if he is placed out on the left I don't see him having much success, much like Lanzini. Its sad to see Manu demoted to the bench, its not his fault he didn't play well last week...

Ledesma will add good passing, but at 33 and almost no game time in the last year and a half is he going to be up for 90 minutes especially against a very active Colon midfield? I'd prefer Rojas and a return to a 4-3-1-2

The only way to sum up Ledesma's night: DISASTER

What was Almeyda thinking starting this guy? Take him out now before he gets a red!!!

I'd say bring in Rojas for ledesma. Have him play on the left, move Cazares up front and do a 4-3-1-2. This bullshit 4-4-2 ain't working.

Some where in Ireland (or wherever he is from) la saeta rubia is ranting "give almeyda time" "cavenaghi and chori are mediocre!" "funes mori is a world star!" "the clubs finances are so good under passarella (without setting foot in argentina and realizing how shitty everything in river is)" "passarella has a great plan"

Meanwhile, the rest of the world is furious at this pathetic display of "futbol"

We could win this game, but it won't change how pathetic we have played. This is just embarrassing.

As the goal goes in, la saeta rubia shouts: "the impacient ones will send us to the B!" "DAP has straightened out our finances!" "DAP will build a great team" "Chori and Caveanghi are incapable of playing for the national team" "A top 6 finish will be great" (sos de river o de argentinos hijo de puta?)

Did not like Pezzela's performance but at least he made up for it by rescuing a point for us.

Un desastre total. NO MORE ALMEYDA. It's time for Ramon Diaz or someone with an attacking futbol ideology to step up and take charge. We could have won today and I still wouldn't have been happy: the way the team played was painful to watch, and the sad part is we played like this practically every game so far other than vs. Tigre. Basta. No da mas esto.

P.S.: So much for a "faster", more dynamic team.

I'm not at all. Argentine futbol is at its worst point in history... There are no great teams and very few players quien "marcan la diferencia" yet river can barely tie against colon.

I know la saeta rubia will come here later saying we are being impacient or something, but river should have won this game. Pathetic from the start. Where was Lanzini? WTF was Almeyda thinking? It was just terrible

River NEEDS to shoot for more. Obviously i'm happy with the point and especially for pezzella's goal, but jesus christ the rest was just sad!

BTW i've been pleading for pezzella for what feels like years! gonzalez pirez isn't even 1/4 of the player pezzella is !!!!! Pezzella is far better than maidana as well!!! (and i don't say this for the goal. i say it for his marking and technical ability)

Loco I agree. We need Ramon. I know la saeta rubia thinks we are "building" something or whatever, but i say BASTA. SOMOS RIVER PLATE!!!! EL CLUB MAS GRANDE DE LA ARGENTINA!!!! NO HAY QUE CONFORMARSE CON ESTE EQUIPO!!!!

We need to bring back Ramon. We have suffered too much. We went to the B. We are suffering the cargadas from all other teams and on top of it, we are back in the A and we have a team incapable of making 3 passes seguidos...

I am so upset by the way this team plays i can't really even say. Just sad to think some people on this forum thing that if we follow this model we'll be the barcelona of south america in 5 years

Que boludo sos pibe de mierda no se de donde estas tampoco pero sos.un hijo de puta de mierda.Vamos River que merece mas que pelotudos ignorantes como vos.Anda a la mierda si no va a respetar otros Gallinas.
We won a huge point in the leaders field showing garra till the end.The reality is the.performance was mixed against an excellent team.Barovero was secure from start to finish as was the excellent Mercado.Maidana did everything well until missing the cross for the gol.Pezzela took his gol wonderfully but was awful defensively.Ramiro after a poor start improved as the game went on.There is one thing I can agree with the asshole Gaucho he.doesnt deserve the River before it and that is that Ledesma had a bad match.Sanchez wasnt much better balooning balls all over the place. Our free kicks were poor no doubt Passarella or Almeyda bought the wrong pelotas.Cazares showed a lot of potential and Ponzio was once again excellent.Funes Mori was good but Trezeguet is appearing to be a liability.Mora showed appetite and promise. An excellent point won in a very dificult cancha.

honestly I am starting to lean this way, I would be wayyyyyy more willing to be patient with Almeyda if he just showed any signs of learning from mistakes made in the past. They have a faster more dynamic team than last season it is actually true, but they put themselves in position to be slow, disconnected and just plain terrible. It starts with this ********ing 4-4-2, they play with wings who cant even dream of hitting a good cross so theres hardly any action anywhere near the box. they need to play with an enganche like pretty much everyone has already said and they have the players to do so in Lanzini and Cazares which makes it even more frustrating.

All this said, 8 points in 4 matches isnt terrible for a team with the glaring issues that we see out of them. to be honest they should probably have less. I also agree a little bit of patience isnt the worst idea, it does look like they are building for sustained success at least in terms of players. theres alot of talent coming up through River.

Exactly sure we arent Barcelona but what the ******** do people think we are going to improve that quickly.Del Bosque wouldnt do it.Look at Simeone in Atletico where expectations are realistic and look at what the lunatics did in River.I have a pain in my balls reading the mierda of this idiot who doesnt respect the leader of the country or club.A little Videla

Alright you two.. can we all act our age and have disagreements without having to bash each other? You both obviously don't see eye to eye with each other and that's perfectly fine, I just don't see a logical reason for the back-and-forth personal attacks in various threads.

Put an end to them soon.
